I went to Maida’s to have a couple of extra holes punched into a belt that was too large for me. They suggested shortening the belt from the buckle end so that they wouldn’t need to add new holes, since their instruments couldn’t match the custom shape of the holes and it would ruin the aesthetic of the belt. They measured the belt I had worn into the store and shortened the one I had brought in for work accordingly. I wasn’t even in there 10 minutes. On top of the great work, they didn’t charge me a dime!

These folks are great! They really know shoes and boots and help keep them in use. They’re also really good at helping shoes fit better. Highly recommended

Love these guys at Maida’s. Just the kindest and most personable people you’ll ever meet. And they are the best at what they do so how could you not like this joint. These are the only guys I will let touch my high-​dollar shoes. From Ferragamo to Gucci these guys can tackle any high-​dollar brand. I’m really enjoying the new «pro» sole rubber bottoms they’ve just added to the leather bottoms of many of my slip-​on dress shoes. And Vince makes custom bags too!

Sal, Vince & crew are cut from the cloth of old-​school craftsmen. Superior repairs and fabulous custom-​made boots, bags and belts. Have had many leather items repaired, modified and replaced… competently & with friendly cheerful service…& have a decent selection of leather care products. They r problem solvers…& extenders of life!

Took a pair of my Anderson Bean boots to be re-​soled. I had worn down the rubber heal and into a layer of leather. A hole had been worn through the sole as well. They completed all repairs within the time they told me. The price was very reasonable for the work completed. So far, the quality surpassed my expectations. I will definitely use Maida’s again when the time comes to re-​sole my other boots.

A convenient spot for me that is priced well for great work they do. Friendly and attentive reception as you walk in and they took the time so understand what I wanted done. I had never had shoes stretched before so Vince asked me to wear them to know the exact areas that needed attention. The new heels look great and the Pro Soles are way better than the ones at the Houston Shoe Hospital.

I took my $ 1000+ Manolo Blahnik wedding shoes to Maida’s because I experienced severe discomfort wearing them during my wedding dress fittings. He suggested putting a little insert on the ball of the foot, inside. I asked if he could put them under the lining since wedding shoes often tend to be photographed on their own, and I didn’t want granny-​looking inserts showing in my MB’s.
He said of course, no problem, leave them with him and he’ll take care of them first thing in the morning when his hands are perfectly clean (reassuring, since the shoes are made of light pink satin).
I never received a call that they were ready. A week later I called and after hunting through tickets his wife finally found my shoes and said she assumed they were ready but didn’t know what specifically was done to them.
I showed up and examined the lining of my shoes and was appalled, inwardly. What had once been the smooth, calf-​colored insole of the perfect shoe was now wrinkly and detached around some edges. Granted, they felt a LOT better on, with the insert, but the smooth leather insole was now pruny, crinkled. It looked totally unprofessional. When I expressed my hesitation about the state of the insoles, his wife said, «Oh just wear them! If they’re comfortable, the insole doesn’t matter.»
Spoken like a women who doesn’t understand the craftsmanship of a thousand dollar pair of shoes.
At home, I took them out again to re-​examine them, hoping they weren’t as bad as they first appeared. It was worse. I found that the heel of the shoe’s satin covering was scuffed black. I was horrified. After recovering from my state of shock, I called Maida’s frantically. Same woman answered. She said to bring them in the next morning at 8:30am when Mr. Maida himself would be there.
Needless to say, I will NOT be bringing my shoes back to Maida’s. I’m afraid that if I do they will return to me even worse than they were before.
Ladies, do NOT bring your fancy shoes to this place!

I had my boots and a belt repaired last week. The workmanship is excellent, pricing is good and all work completed on time as promised. The owner, Sal, is very friendly and personable.
