The sandwiches and salsas are amazing! I didn’t like the potato salad but a friend of mine gobbled it up! My only complaint is that just like everything on campus, it is quite pricy!

Given the other dining options at U of H, McAlisters is moderately priced and serves good food. We have tried a lot of their sandwiches over a number of visits and were always satisfied. Once their cookies were not good, and the next day they offered us free cookies to compensate for last time. Friendly staff and good food for good prices are what bring us back here.

When it comes to sandwiches I like it plain and simple so I went with the most basic thing on the menu, the Ham & Cheese Griller. You get a pickle and choice of side along with your order. Judging by everyone sitting in the dining area, the strawberry lemonade was a favorite so I added that to my order. It was sweet and not watered down so I enjoy it aside my sandwich. It’s similar to a Panera Bread just more convenient for UH students. A side note; my friend ordered a sandwich with Guac and they completely forgot to add it in. Make sure you double check your order when served so the waiter can fix it, otherwise you’ll have to try and get the attention of another and that can be hard.

General– I can’t really complain about anything honestly. McAlister’s Deli offers a very diverse menu with endless amounts of modifications you can add. From soups to baked potatoes to, most importantly, the sandwiches, I think you’ll find your fill here. Food– I’ve had a few of the vegetarian sandwiches and potatoes, and they were all very delicious. What makes it even more filling is that it comes with a side item as well, such as mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, chips, etc. One thing you must try is the tea! Service– Service is easy and fast. The staff are mostly, if not all UH students. They all seem very friendly so no complaints here. If you don’t want to wait for your order to be prepared, then you can just order online or on their phone app. What’s not to love? Try or skip? Definitely try it!

This is my go to lunch spot when I forget to bring my lunch to work. I am never disappointed with their assortment of salads, soups, and sandwiches. With this place being on the campus of UH it can get crazy busy during lunch time. I usually call my order in so that I can just walk in and grab it. If you’re a student on campus then this is a good place to stop at. If you’re not on campus it makes no sense to deal with the traffic to get here as you will have a hard time finding somewhere to park.

Love their teas/lemonades! They’re both really cheap for a huge amount! Their food is okay, below average. Great place to catch up with friends on campus though.

The food is great. I Like the different combo sandwiches and salads on their menu but I wish they have more soup selections. My favorite is the chicken tortilla soup! The only reason why I gave this review a 4 star instead of 5 is because I’m disappointed in their sweet tea. Their signature sweet tea is my absolute favorite item to get since I was a freshmen. I come back three years later and my favorite tea was super dilated. I’ve been to other McAllister locations and their sweet tea again proved phenomenonal! I hope they fix the sweet tea the next time I’m back on campus!

Line out the door. Not today, the food is ok, but not out the door line worthy. Off to find something before the next learning experience…

One of my favorite places on campus to go and have a bite. The staff is normally friendly and helpful though they are normally very crowded.

TEA. That’s all I can say. Just get the freakin tea. On campus? Thirsty? Need an ice cold drink while walking to class in the heat? Then stop by McAlister’s for their tea. Do it. No questions about it. But seriously. Free refrills. What? Free, you say? Why yes. Look, I know this sounds like a horrible ad on getting the freakin tea, but if I’m just advertising on the tea, then HOLYMOLY, you have to believe me. It’s just freakin amazing. Ask anyone who has tried their tea. They’ll tell you the exact same thing. Besides the tea, food is great. Done.

I love McAlister’s Deli. Not just for it’s fresh assortment of food on a college campus but because I can purchase chipotle peach dressing by the gallon for 10.00 bucks. I love that stuff and put it on everything. I event marinate chicken and shrimp with it! Their sweet tea with lemon is grand and don’t even get me started on those Big A** cookies. When they are hot and fresh out of the oven, I could literally slap everyone on duty because they are so good!

Not sure what the big deal is about the sweet tea, tastes exactly like what I can make at home. It’s not even sweetened with anything special like honey, fructose, or simple syrup, it tastes like barely dissolved sugar. That being said, great campus option at a student price, sandwiches are decently good. I’d pick McAlister’s over Subway any day.

A little pricy for what you get, but the service is always attentive and polite. I will pay a little more money for quality service. You can expect a significant wait time during the lunch rush hours, with all students getting out around the same time, but if you plan accordingly it should not be an issue. I will commend them on their lighter option menu. Although it seems you get less food, but pay just as much as the regular menus options. Overall I rate it a three seeing as it’s not hard to made/deliver a soup/sammich/salad.

I give it a three because I feel the quality f food doesn’t line up with the price. Personally, I enjoy the Den’s sammiches 100x’s more and they’re a few dollars cheaper than McAllister’s. The food is alright. It’s generic but it does the job. All the sandwiches taste the same and they are a tad bit bland. I always order the mashed potatoes and gravy and without fail they always serve them half mixed so I have some powered potatoes mix in my bowl. They’re always packed probably because they play decent music 80% of the time.

The peach tea is the bomb and there’s free refills. Honestly it’s a little over price but I continue to eat it. I like the chipotle chicken sandwich.

I don’t like gorgonzola cheese, I didn’t think I didn’t like it this much until I had the Cobb club and the turkey cranberry salad. I didn’t realize both had the cheese and I had to go ahead and go through each of my items and remove it. I’ve been to mcalisters since I’ve started going to UH and it’s consistent, so 4 stars, the food is given to you, and the service is the same. I came after workout by myself because I wanted to eat light, but not subway(sick of it.) and the two items I found online that offered a lower calorie intake was the worst. So that is 2 stars, this isn’t really healthy friendly because there’s always something that makes it «good» and it’s going to be fattening. I’ll come back, but not for that cheese.

With the UC(the food hub of UH) currently under renovation, us college students have only a few options for dining on campus: 1) walk our sorry butts all the way across campus to the Satellite or Chinese Star, 2) pay $ 8 at the food trucks for a plate of trans fat, or 3) go to McAlister’s. Honestly, I choose option #3. McAlister’s offers a wide variety of sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads, desserts, and of course their famous sweet tea! I’ve had several meals here and I usually go for the«choose two» deal, where you get a cup of soup and a ½ a salad or sandwich for $ 7. I love the broccoli and cheddar soup from here. It’s really the bomb. The southwest chicken salad is also a favorite of mine. Yeah, it’s not the healthiest salad you can eat, but it’s much better than fast food. Another thing I like about their salads is they come in huge portions, so you feel you get your money’s worth. Most of the meals are around $ 7 – 8 each, which is not bad in my opinion. Make sure to get the sweet tea($ 2) with free refills! It does get super crowded during lunch, so plan accordingly. All in all, McAlister’s is one of my go-to lunch spots on campus.

Food was great and speed of receiving my order was fast. However it was during the summer so not a lot of students ordering food. Only thing is that their portions are small to average.

Been eating here since 2009! I absolutely LOVE this place, i can never get tired of it. My favorite is the spicy southwest chicken griller with a side of mac and cheese. The brocoli cheddar soup is also amazing, as well as their spud. Shit everything is good. It gets packed more now because the UC is closed(no Wendys, Chic-fil-a, etc) 5 Star because food is consistently good, never had a bad experience and service is also great. If you visit UH, try it. If you already go to UH, there’s no reason NOT to eat there :)
