Had the tofu plate — awesome and totally worth the $ 8! Very convenient for a quick stop on your way home, and you can get groceries at H-mart afterwards. (This isn’t a stand alone restaurant and is in the H-Mart food court)

It was my first time ordering a meal at Misoya. I order the Kimchi Fried Rice and it was quite delicious. It came with side dishes which is called Banchan. My favorite side dish was the fish cake. And I can’t forget about the egg on top of the rice. Nicely cooked and when opening the egg the nice smooth yolk oozing on the rice, giving it the rich taste. Also the lady the took my order was very sweet and served my order. The meal was $ 8 which I didn’t find it too expensive for the amount of food I got. I’m definitely coming back.

1. Service — a very nice and sweet old Korean lady. Order your food at the register after you’ve decided what to get. The menu is on the back wall behind the register. Sit down, grab a table, and listen for the cashier to yell out your number. your number is on your receipt. 2. Price — Cheap, and you don’t pay an arm and a leg. Most Korean restaurants are over priced, and if you want something authentic and cheap, come here. 3. Ambiance — This is a cafeteria with many vendors. It’s inside a supermarket called H-Mart. Misoya is just one vendor, and each vendor serves something unique. If you like a variety, I suggest you come here and try out. Dress code is casual. Shorts, flip flops, jeans, whatever you typically wear to a grocery store. 4. Food — I recommend her Kim chi fried rice, it’s the best! 5. Cleanliness — There are no servers or busboys. So It’s self clean. The mess you get is the mess the previous person leaves. So if you’re a clean freak, bring some clorox wipes. After you finish eating, bring your tray, utensils, plates, bowls, and cup back to the vendor you got it from. It’s a interesting concept… Enjoy!

I had the Dumpling Ramen for lunch hoping that it will be good. The ramen was basically the packaged ramen that they sell in the grocery markets. They even used the packet flavoring, how do I know? Well, the little bitty freezed dried onions was in my soup that was the exact same as those that comes in the flavor packets in the packagd ramen you can get anywhere for less than $ 1. They overcooked the noodles, the noodles were very very soft, definitely not the way I like my Ramen noodles. The dumpling tasted like it was from the frozen dumplings you get from Hmart or any other asian supermarkets from the freezer section. I wouldn’t come back for their Ramen noodles. I will need to try other stuff. They did give the banchan sides, but the lady is very stingy on refills on the banchan.

I’ve only been here once, as it’s always impossible for me to pick a freaking place to eat in the H-mart cafeteria area. I find myself bouncing from place to place, staring at the hundreds of pictures of Korean food and trying to make an impossible decision of what I want to eat. One of those days bounced me to Misoya as I was craving a spicy but cold noodle dish that particular day. I decided to get a cold noodle soup(white noodles, not neng myun) garnished with generous amounts of kimchi(sorry; I don’t know what it was called). For what it is(noodles, cold broth and cut up kimchi), it took a very long time to come out. But once it did, it was very satisfying. Generous bowl of noodles with flavorful broth and crunchy pieces of kimchi, it satisfied the very craving I didn’t really know I had. If Misoya offered it with hot and fresh kalbi, it would be absolute perfection.

One of my two favorite places in the H Mart. They have good Korean food. Most recently I had the kimchi ramen. Nice and spicy with good noodles. My wife had the kimchi version of the knife noodle. Also good, but we liked the ramen slightly better. Their sides aren’t bad either. You get a dish if fish cake, kimchi, spicy kimchi radish and sprouts I believe. The people are very friendly and would definitely answer any questions about a dish if you are unsure.

I came to H-Mart with a fellow Unilocaler(see a trend yet?) who was delighted to introduce me to one of his favorite food courts for one of those post-work, post-work out evenings. As these are happening more and more frequently for me lately, I appreciated finding this place which happens to be owned by another Unilocaler’s mother.(I have not met this Unilocal daughter, so I’m sorry I cannot reference her by name…) I had the curry over rice, which looked a lot like Japanese curry. Again, I was in need of some flavorable, quick carbs, and this did not disappoint! On the spicy index, I find myself on the weakling side after having studied abroad in Thailand. It was noticeably spicy here, and there was a time or two I got the little sweat droplets on my nose after ingesting too large of a bite. I would definitely come here again — the portions are very sizeable for the price, and how can you beat quick and yet flavorable food? Misoya FTW!

Honestly I don’t even want to rate this restaurant for real!!! because they ought to be SHUTDOWN! My mom had FOODPOISON last week after eating a meal and she almost DIED! she could not go to the EMG room that night because she had nobody to take her so she was rushed to her doctor’s office and had to get treated FOR3HOURS. But the owner refused to pay for her doctor’s fee at first after agreeing to pay before she went to see her doctor. and endep up paying for it at the end after she’s been reported to the health dept. which is more loss for her now. Anyways it was a horrible experience over all and myself and my family or my friends will NEVER eat there AGAIN!!! DON’T WANTTODIEFROMFOODPOISON!!!

I love the Kim Chi Fried Rice here. The secret appears to be the over medium egg on top. You bust it and all the yolky goodness covers the rice and gives it the boost from yum to YUM!!! It looks expensive for $ 8 but it comes with the small sides you expect from a Korean place. The place also takes credit cards, which is nice.

This place is inside H-Mart, so don’t try to find it along the street! The curry rice for $ 8 was very good! It had carrots, potatoes, pork belly, among other ingredients to make the sauce flavorful and a little spicy. Portion was huge, as three side dishes of soybeans, pickled cucumbers, and kim chi added variety. The best part was that the curry was served on a pink dish with little bunny rabbits, so I felt like a little kid again! They also have other menu items, as they range from fried rice, soups, ramen, to the bulgogi burger. I’ll be back to try some more and let you know!
