Why is it that every time I have done business with this place I am subjected to the condescending attitudes coming from the employees that work in the sales department and cashier counter? This place needs to lighten up a little! A smile would be a welcome sight, even if it was faked!

Big lumberyard and small hardware store. I would’ve given them 4 stars, but several of the guys who work there are a little cranky. They seem to think that if you don’t know as much as them about lumber and hardware, then you’re an idiot who’s wasting their time, and they somehow have the right to be rude to you. This doesn’t apply to all the employees, just to many of the male employees. There’s an old saying in the business world: «S**t rolls downhill.» Well, the same is true of corporate culture; bad attitudes roll downhill from the top. I would imagine the head honcho is just the same way.
Update: Received an email from the owner apologizing for the experiences I had there. I also shopped there again since my last review, and was waited on by a friendly, patient employee. I take back my comment about the owner probably having a bad attitude, and also change my rating to 4 stars.
