So I came to check this place out at the urging of my friends to join them when they were out barhopping for happy hour. I just finished a run at Memorial Park, so obviously I wasn’t dressed decently enough to go out to some of the fancier bars. Finally arrive about 30 minutes later than everyone else, and can’t find any parking(lot is very small). No big deal, I end up parking across the street and walking over. The server appeared promptly, and was very friendly and funny. He took everyone’s drink order by memory, which is usually a disaster at most bars around Houston, but every order came out exactly as requested. I enjoyed my drink, as did the other four people at the table, and another round appeared as soon as the first round was over. Very good service. My only complaint is that they allow cigar and cigarette smoking on the patio. There were a couple of older gentleman that were puffing away like chimneys on the patio so the entire area reeked of smoke. We solved this problem after the second round by simply going inside. The people inside were laid back and friendly as well, it seems almost like a Cheers atmosphere. I would definitely come back again, and would be even more inclined if they restricted smoking to one corner of the patio.

This quiet little escape within the city of Houston is nice! The drinks are AMAZING. I thought the staff was attentive and nice. This is the perfect way to end a Saturday with good friends. Highly recommended!

I would never come to this place ever. After a work’s meeting the team decided to stop by this place to celebrate. Sadly one of us drunk more that what he was supposed to and I guess that have happened before to any of you. However, I would have necer expected the bartenders kick us out… all of us. He was never concerned about my coworkers safety. The bartender just kept saying we needed to call 911 but not there. That we needed to go somewhere else snd then call 911 or just take him to a hospital. I had to leave and came back just to know what happened with my coworker because nobody else was answering the phone and this bartender didnt answer to me, he just repeated that I had to leave because nobody from that group was allowed to be in his property.

Had been a regular a few years ago. Finally came back today and boy has it gotten better. Quaint, cosy, great patio. Good place to chill and talk, not too loud.

This bar is kinda disappointing. It sucks because I really want to love it but I just don’t. The good: walking distance from my apartment, chill atmosphere, and a patio. Those are the things that made me want to become a regular here! I tried this place 4 maybe 5 times and I just can’t do it. I’d rather drive somewhere else. The bad you may be wondering: not one single TV to catch any game. I know it’s not a sports bar but it would be nice if they had one. The music is terrible and doesn’t go with the place/crowd. No food. Not even crappy bar food. Drinks are too expensive to be so weak. Also no dogs allowed. I know this one is kinda dumb but you have that patio and you can get to it and from it without going inside. Even if the dog happen to go inside. You. Have. No. Food. So what is up with that? I just can’t go back to this place unless I just have NO other options.

Absolutely love this place! Great atmosphere, great staff who are very attentive, friendly and positive! And they can make damn good drinks too! The patio is awesome, the inside seating is nice as well. They have great craft beers available by bottle, and a wide variety of bourbons! $ 2 Jell-O shots? Yes please! The only downside is that their parking lot is small, however they do have additional parking nearby so it’s not a huge issue.

Great place to sit outside and think you are not in the city. Good service and good drinks. Great place for a date night cap. Not much parking. Go in and ask where to park.

Imagine having the power to go somewhere in a busy area filled with business people, and fast cars, traffic, buses and all and simply closing your eyes… making it all disappear and you find yourself in a little cabana on a beach with sand all around you with as you sit under palm trees and a nice wind and excellent sounds of mellow Reggae all around you… AHHYEAH! That was my night when I discovered Muldoons. Although I was missing that special power to make everything turn into sand, this place puts you in the mood just for that. A nice dark spot with excellent music and a quaint crowd. Exactly what the doctor ordered. Just so happen on this magical night, the bartender(whom I call gamer girl) was in total reggae mode, and played some great mellow reggae for most of the night while making me glass upon glass upon glass of a great pour of wine. I met some friendly faces and chatted a bit with a few whilst admiring others for a simple night of enjoyment. Shots where being made for many from Patron to $ 2 jello shots. They have a full bar and a very decent pour without all the blown up prices you would usually find in the area. They do not serve food but are happy to allow you to bring your own food or even order from the many delivery spots around the way. I know my night may have been unique but if you catch gamer girl there(as I totally forgot her real name) you may easily duplicate my Friday night experience here. Dress is not to impress, but know you are in the business area of the Galleria where many come after work and hang out all night. I’m sure casual is fine as personality can pull off anything. I don’t live in this area and rarely frequent this area at night, but now that I know it’s here. I will frequent it much much more in the future. They do not serve frozen drinks currently but do provide a few during the summer months as patrons desire to sit outside under the lovely patio. I preferred sitting inside on this night and enjoy the wine, music and conversation. A spot like this. you could easily come alone and feel right at home. Mellow Out… and Prosper.

Checked this place out a while back and was not disappointed. The patio is fantastic — the oak tree that everyone talks about is not to be underestimated! Christmas lights make for a great atmosphere, and the drinks are tasty! The staff are very attentive, without being overbearing. We never had to wait around for another drink. My favorite part about this place is that it’s a great spot to meet to chat. Comfortably quiet(with some background music) so that you don’t have to yell at each other the whole time like at most bars. The drinks are a little more pricey than other places, but definitely not as much as I was expecting considering the quality! My only thing is I really wish the patio was dog-friendly so I could take my girl with me — but I wish that for every place :) I will definitely be back!

Great little bar. Great drinks and Brittany makes the best Mojito. They don’t serve food but you can take out from Becks Prime next door. New to Houston and this is our new spot.

Pretty great neighborhood bar. Really enjoyed going here when I lived in Houston. It’s a very casual neighborhood bar. They don’t offer food but it can be brought in from the restaurant next door or elsewhere. It’s a pretty small place and unless you know it’s there you’ll likely miss it. I definitely give it a 4 out of 5 stars due to the bathroom that is definitely in need of some TLC. Other than that nothing to complain about. The bar has a pretty good selection and the bartenders can definitely mix up anything your looking for. The bar even offers a selection of cigars for your purchase and pleasure. Great neighborhood bar, would recommend this to anyone in the area looking to just get out, relax, have a few drinks with good conversation.

This bar is located off of a Augusta and Westheimer Rd. I was actually quite surprised that this bar was empty on a Sunday night. It’s a pretty small bar with the small parking lot. Small enough where I feel like I can put my bedroom furniture in there. This was around 8 o’clock that I went and it was completely empty. The only people that were there was my friend and I. And he was there before I even got there. By the time we left three people came into the bar and that was about it. Not the bartender was a young lady with short hair and brunette and she was really nice constantly checking on us to make sure if we had everything we needed and were okay. I felt bad because it wasn’t much business for her. I didn’t really care for the drinks too much with the flavors however I guess it was okay. I would have preferred a frozen margarita however they don’t have frozen drinks and no sangrias. There was a drink menu that was very small and some of it was written up on a chalkboard. The restroom was really clean. I wouldn’t really care to come here again. It wasn’t lively at all. i

I have worked by this little joint for nearly 5 years, and never stepped one foot into until recently. I wouldn’t really call it a dive bar, more of a cheers type setting. The inside is super small, but they have a wide variety of cocktails. I had a Moscow Mule which was very good. They also serve a wide variety of hot toddys, all of which looked very tasty. The prices were decent, and they have a good happy hour menu. The crowd was very interesting with older folks, and people from the two neighboring office buildings. The location is weird, but from what I’ve heard, it does get busy. If you are in the area on a chilly night, definitely worth a try for one of their hot drinks!

My office is a stone’s throw away from here, and after nearly four years, my co-workers and I decided to stop in for the first time, after taking a break from our office move. My most favorite part of this outing had to be the Mexican Hot Chocolate I ordered. It had the perfect shot of Tequila and wasn’t scalding hot. I could have done without the whipped cream, but I didn’t realize it came with it. It was sparse with people at 6:00PM so I can’t really say if they get a good crowd for HH. What I didn’t care for was how dark it was in the place. My friend was sitting maybe a foot away from me, but I could hardly see her. I would definitely suggest playing livelier music. It was the week before Christmas that we went so the music was probably setting the tone for the holidays, but it could have been more upbeat. I’ll give Muldoon’s another try, but I hope next time I won’t trip over my own feet finding a table!

Without the big beautiful old oaks, this place would just be another dive bar. The most redeeming quality they have is their large wood patio deck out back that is shaded by the beautiful old oaks that blanket the entire seating area. This is one of the few places that you can sit outside under beautiful trees, enjoy your cocktail, and not have music cranked up so loud that you can’t hear your own thoughts. This Houston neighborhood bar is set along the somewhat quiet street of Augusta and is tucked behind a busy burger drive thru. If it weren’t for the burger place, this bar would be even more pleasant, but unfortunately, the bar has to share the shady trees with them. The parking lot is small, so either get here early, or be prepared to park on the street. The bar is oddly laid out with it taking up half of the interior space and is situated in a diagonal design. With the indoor seating being limited to either the bar or a few small bar top tables. The outdoor seating is great, but if smokers show up, you may lose your fresh air and enjoyable evening. There’s a smattering of bar top, patio, and metal tables with the seating being just as eclectic. Everything is pretty much mismatched here when it comes to seating. There are almost always two female bartenders working at any given time. I’m not sure if men don’t do well bartending here, or if the owner prefers women, but the ladies are generally a little less than professionally dressed. I feel like I’m at a redneck bar with the way they look. The bartenders also double as the waitresses, so whether you order inside or out, you will be dealing directly with your bartender. The place is just ok. It’s great for enjoying good weather nights or for smoking a cigar, but for the most part, it’s a pretty forgettable place. The claim to fame here is definitely the natural beauty of the trees, because without them, this is just another neighborhood dive bar.

Folks, just because a bar is small, whimsical, and quaint, doesn’t mean it’s good. I have been here three times and have noticed the same intoxicated patrons frequenting on all three occasions. Three strikes and you’re out! I suppose these regulars crawled in from neighboring apartment complexes, condos, and high rises. The mixed drinks were lackluster. I question whether these college aged bartenders passed an online bartenders course. Did they really spend two thousand bucks on a course to be incapable of mixing three separate liquors in equal ratios? I blended my stuff better with my silly toy chemistry set that I received on Christmas when I was ten-years-old. If you are stopping for an ice-cold bottled beer, and the weather is nice outside on the patio under the umbrella of the majestic oak tree, then I might be more forgiving. Essentially, the only redeeming quality of this bar is its location nestled in the heart of the Galleria. After midnight, passed the bewitching hour, often a final stop at this bar has been implemented after an adventurous jaunt from either Midtown, Uptown Park, or the Washington Avenue strip. I am embarrassed, but must admit that I wanted one last drink and there were few options in the Galleria. However, after writing this review I realized my stupidity and frankly my desperation. I doubt that I will ever step foot in this bar again. Fellow Unilocalsters, don’t be fooled, you can do better.

Another fun little bar, hidden away behind Beck’s Prime. I definitely would have never found this bar, except that it is located right next to my buddy’s apartment complex. Score one for stumbling home at night! The bar is very small… and I when I say very small I mean very small. There are maybe three tables inside, and a bar that seats about 8. However, there is a decent sized patio space that encloses two sides of the building… with plenty of seating and space to stand. The drink selection is good… although this seems like more the space to just grab a shot of whiskey or a gin and tonic. Definitely a locals bar, and not a destination bar, but I could be wrong. I spent all of an hour outside on the patio, with a glass of bourbon in one hand and a cigar in the other. I will definitely give this place another try… especially since I never have to worry about drinking and driving home. Plus, the bartender on 3÷12÷13 was super cute! That’s always a plus…

I’ve frequented here a few times and don’t really have any complaints nor anything to rave about except that I can see why everybody seems to find here a comfortable bar when the whether is nice and you can sit under the tree. My favorite thing to order here is the Blue Moon because the bartender has the decency to place an orange wedge in the bottle whilst it seems that everybody else do not practice this or just don’t have the citrus delight. Was not expensive here I think it was maybe $ 4 for the Blue Moon. I came here a few months ago when it was a little chilly outside and they had the outside heaters on, the one that stand about 8 feet in the air fed by propane. Inside, noisy! But it’s a bar but just that the layout of the floor and walls have everything one says inside seem to bounce off everywhere and amplify. Bartender was pretty friendly, helpful and wasn’t snobbish about anything I ordered. Wish they had food here.
