I really enjoyed it here. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but if you enjoy playing darts or a more casual dive-bar type feel this is your place. There is a decent amount of seating in the 2 rooms — a front room and a back room that has 4 dartboards lined up with great lighting. They have a decent amount of beers and I really enjoyed their draft selection. I haven’t seen Sierra Nevada on draft before! Only complaint is that in the back room there is a door open to a patio where a lot of people smoke. Although the bar itself is non-smoking a lot of the smoke does filter in. This was especially an issue for someone in my group with asthma. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in the Galleria area and want to have a casual experience.

One of the best local dives in the Galleria area. Parking lot is super small, but luckily we are within 5 minutes walking distance. Great place for locals– a lot of people know each other here. Friendly patrons & friendly staff. Any Sunday we have gone here, there was free food. They have 60 ounce pitchers for $ 9.50 on Sundays, you can’t beat it! I usually just have a Diet Coke or a club soda when I go there, and they are nice enough to not even charge me. Couch seating, table seating, outdoor seating, and TV’s both indoor and outdoors. Darts too! Great service, laid back, friendly people, and easy on the wallet. This a ‘Cheers’ kind of establishment.

Perhaps I was a bit harsh in my original review. Everything I said about the crowd was true that night but the second time I came there, I was at the bar area(near the dart boards) and the bartender was cool as hell and while I still had to watch out for flying darts, it was a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Bonus points, I noticed that they actually have a bar dishwashing machine type thing and with the flu season coming up, that’s a very cool thing since a lot of bars just dip their glasses in dirty bleach water and dirty water and call it clean.

Awesome bar, great staff and a wonderful seclusion of beer on tap and a friendly atmosphere. Should shop by anytime you have a chance.

Love this dive! Great music, great atmosphere and great people! The bar staff is fantastic — friendly, knowledgable and fun. Nice and dark on the inside with a few dart boards. Always a lively crowd on the comfortable front porch; quiet, cozy area on the secluded patio out back. Drinks are cheap and the music is loud. GREATDIVE!!!

After a few visit this spot has grown on me. Its your typical«Cheers» type of bar… very diverse and friendly from the bartenders to the patrons. This is definitely my new hang out spot. Haven’t tried the food yet but the beers on tap are pretty awesome.

Old school neighborhood pub(the real deal). Interesting crowd but very comfy and welcoming. Good beer selection. Hard to believe they don’t have good. Some good bangers n mash or shepherds pie or fish m chips or corned beef sandwiches would be perfect here

This place is a tiny dive bar. Came here because of the good reviews but I’m not sure why they were so good. We got death glares walking in and the crowd in general wasn’t our scene. If you’re looking for a dive this place is for you!

Basic dive bar with slow service. And what kinda place doesn’t serve food during the world cup?! Not very smart, just left during half time so we could get food.

Fantastic local. Good value. Good beer. Friendly crowd. A real micro community. And if you have any interest in the mighty reds you should drink nowhere else.

Me and my girlfriend just moved in the neighborhood and this is the closest bar to us. The bartender was very nice and welcomed us to the neighborhood. It seems like a lot of regular come here. Will definitely be stopping by more often.

This is ur average neighborhood bar. Dart boards etc. patio outside is small and has flat screen TVs for games. Crowd is bit stiff assed all though the dress code is pretty casual. Has an air of an Irish pub w a touch of red neck.

Obviously a neighborhood bar, filled with crappy furniture, dart boards, and numerous international flags plastered to the top of the walls. Contrary to the assorted number of flags, the clientele was certainly not cosmopolitan. My date and I walked inside of the bar and noticed that we were the only two humans with a full set of 32 teeth(I lied — I have only 28 since four wisdom teeth have been pulled). Be wise don’t show.

Great crowd and bartenders. Food is available from Cliff’s next door, who’ll bring it to you in the Pub! Ron’s is the Liverpool FC official club pub and opens up early for Liverpool matches. YNWA!

A neighborhood bar that leans heavily to regulars. Different nights bring different crowds and decibal levels. Some nights are dart league tourney nights, some nights are watch the big game nights, and others are quietly sitting around muttering to your beer kind of crowds. Just depends on the luck of the draw. Service is friendly enough when it isn’t crazy busy. Crowd is usually 5:1 men to women ratio. Like I said before, the majority of the people drinking here on any given day know about 90% of the other patrons by first name. Come here enough and you’ll be added to that crowd easy enough because they seem to run the gambit of age race shape etc. Good for a beer in the neighborhood when the urge arises and plenty of room to find a spot to sit and chat.

This is the perfect neghborhood bar. I have been there so many times, it is ridiculous. This is in my opinion the best dive bar in Houston. I have been to many dive bars, and this is by far the best one I have come across. Regulars in this bar like to play darts, they have one or two dart night a week. I don’t play darts so I dont know exactly which nights are dart nights. The regulars here are very nice once they get to know you. Incredibly, they have a lot of regulars. Regulars are like real friends. I have met the nicest people at this place. Friends who I have actually kept. Their selection of beer is pretty decent, and they have the best Guinnes in town(better than the Guinnes at Richmond Arms) and their beer is always nice and cold. They have nice Super Bowl, 80’s, Halloween, Saint Paddy parties and they even go as far as offering delicious BBQ for their customers. The bartenders are extremely professional and caring. They care about their customers. If you are expecting a fancy place, then this is not the place for you. If you are expecting a place with very nice eclectic crowd, then this is the place for you. Restrooms are always clean and the service is fast. The only thing is the fact that they don’t sell food. They do have some crappy pizza if you get extremely hungry.

Bf an I stopped in to Ron’s when we had about an hour to kill midday. It was empty around 2:30 but the place was really nice inside. I guess I expected it to be more ‘dumpy’- wasn’t the case. The bartender, Felisha, was really sweet and didn’t bat an eye when I asked for white wine. I don’t know why, but usually ‘pubs’ bartenders look at me weird when I order wine. She told me they had Pinot and Chard and went to work on opening me a fresh bottle while the BF looked over the tap menu. It was dead quiet in there so BF went to the electronic juke box thing to pick some music. Felisha kindly asked us if we wanted to hear music if we could sit on the other side of the place and she’d turn it up there. She said her older regulars complain about music and like the silence, lol. She was really nice about it and we obliged. The other side(near all the dartboards) was just as nice to sit and finish our drinks. Will be back.

Arrived here after a late meal at the nearby Ginza Japanese restaurant. Within a few minutes of arriving we had four solid pints in-hand and were suddenly in the midst of a sing-along, with about three songs in a row that everyone in the entire place was singing together(bartenders included). Between that and the rowdy game of darts, I seriously wished this was my local. Clearly a regulars sort of place, but completely accepting of the four of us(as it turns out two of us used to be regulars, so they started having serious nostalgia). I don’t believe there is food(I saw others bringing in food from other venues), and seems accepting of dogs as one was inside the entire night and a few larger ones were outside on the strip mall patio(which was a whole other scene). Bathrooms were clean even on a late Saturday night and the age range was 25 – 60, with no signs of any generational battles(which can turn ugly in the wrong bar!). Solid, genuine spot, has more character than«Insta-pubs» that put up wood on the walls and old signs in an attempt to look like they’ve been there forever. We will return if out late in this part of town again. Ignore the fact that it looks like a run-down hotel bar(complete with upholstered chairs and carpet on the floor), this place has had more fun than your mom at college.

A bare bones, enjoyable spot in a tiny little strip center on Fountain view. This place looks and feels ancient when you walk inside(in that it looks like it has not been updated since the 70’s). There is a wrap around bar with darts and other pub entertainment on one end, tables and couches on the other end. A handful of TV’s turned to sports. An old moldy carpet that looks like it has never been cleaned before. Plenty of beer on tap. Though a lot of crap on tap as well. Can’t go wrong with Saint Arnold or Real Ale however. Service is standoffish, but nice. That is about it. Beer, pub games, TV. Enjoy.

I hate to be the oddball Unilocaler and had been the one to receive less than stellar experience but I cannot explain why and what happened. Came here on a Thursday night with a fem friend and did not know what to expect. I envisioned it as a semi quiet place but boy was I way off. Besides the what seemed college frat crowd in the 2nd part of the bar in the back that could be heard loud and clear with their cheers the music in the first part would have one almost having to talk at an uncomfortable decibel or cup your hand and speak to someone’s ears. If you like semi loud to little loud then here is your place. Strike 1. Got to the bar part and was not sure what we wanted I asked my friend what was her poison, she felt like a draft so we took a small moment to view the somewhat dozen draft beers offered. She had the Heineken which she said was nice and cold while I felt like a Guinness(draft). I think there might have been a problem with the line because the 1″ head of beer that I got turned into more than ¾ of the glass or more like 6 inches of it. See photo to see what I am talking about and how this was served to me. I must have had 50 Guinnesses in my life and have never been served anything more than 2 inches from the top, is this the new in? No worries, wait 3 minutes for suds to go down and play catch up with your partner. Strike 2 Bartender… I hope this was not«Ron» but this had to have been the most stoic bartender that I have EVER run upon in my life. Remember the look of the soup Nazi in «that» sitcom everybody knows about? Well I found out where he works now, at least for this particular night. We felt as if we were doing a disservice to here by trying out a place that I heard a lot of good things about. I conferred with my friend about this and she agreed that it seemed as maybe we didn’t belong in «the neighborhood» bar where everybody else knows someone else. Strike 3 As far as some of the reviewers saying it was a sausage fest here I felt there was a fair amount of females here to negate that for that night. I think we counted at least 8 including my friend in contrast to the about 30 males here. Also be prepared to pay about $ 11.50 just for two draft beers, I forgot the price of my somewhat favorite Richmond Arms Pub but at least you get some semi smiling female bartenders to tend to you. Like I said, I know I am going against the grain and I really did want this to be at least a 4 star experience since it’s a block away from work but I think I’ll pass up 20 bars/pubs to get at least one decent experience at any place. Mouldoon’s Patio was our friend that night(semi quiet). Hate me if you will and I probably will get a lot of hate messages but rest assured you will be ignored. I have a right just to my opinion on my experience and I know you probably didn’t like it if your a regular Ron’s Pub crowd. Forgive me Ron, nothing personal.
