Cute little store next to Happy Fatz. Stopped in to check it out and the lady inside was super friendly and welcoming. The store carries cute trinkets, purses, bags, jewelry boxes, all types of beads and stones to make jewelry. Nice place to check out if you are in the area.

I have been in and out of this quaint little shop several times since it’s beginning, usually to pick up repair parts and earring hooks to replace studs. My BFF signed up for Leisure Learning class and I decided to join her. We had a blast! A 2.5 hour class with 7 women wanting to learn the basics. We ended up making two pairs of earrings, two different kinds of bracelets and a beautiful pendant necklace. We went over the time because we were all having such fun. Now, I plan to sign up for more advanced classes with Cathy, the very patience owner/​instructor.
Nova Beads is very easy to find in the wonderfully historic Houston Heights, easy access, parkiing is right at the door AND after the class, you can eat next door at Happy Fatz, Onion Creek Café or many other cute eatsies on 6th Street, alias White Oak Drive.

My son’s love this place. Its an inexpensive and fun activity letting your kids search through a large selection of beads and then after they creatively designed their next necklace or bracelet, the owner will string it and put a clasp on it. Just today, my 9 year picked out a bunch of beads, cord, and clasps for his birthday party and each kid will get to make their own bracelet or necklace. The owner is very nice and helpful.

I admit it, I’m a middle aged woman trapped in a young woman’s body. I like starting book clubs, I have blown out both my knees and I enjoy making beaded necklaces.
I stumbled on this place after looking up bead classes and I took my first wire wrapping class there. The space is small and the selection of beads cannot rival the bead shop in the village, but where it lacks in inventory it makes up in character. The class was small, 6 people, and mostly older women. The store owner and teacher is a kind, patient and thorough teacher. You get a lot for your money in the classes and it’s totally worth the new skill set. I’ll definitely be back.

This is my favorite bead store in the Houston area. Friendly and helpful owner/​staff, wonderful variety of beads, findings and other jewelry making supplies. There’s always something new and interesting. If you are new to jewelry making you can take classes, too.
