I tried them at Houston’s City Hall Farmers Market. I had the spicy lamb chorizo sandwich and fries for $ 12. Fries were pretty good and the sandwich was so so. The wait was ridiculous(about 45 minutes) and there weren’t even that many people(less than 10 in front of me). A few people even left after ordering because it was taking so long.

Food was good I had the lamb chorizo Fries which were great and cost $ 8. I have to take stars off for the wait time. The truck was set up at the city hall farmers market in downtown and the line was taking forever. I waited at least 40 – 45 minutes for some fries. All the other businesses were closing down for the day and there were at least 15 in line when I left waiting for food. I understand backups can happen but they should let the customer know before ordering since many are on their lunch breaks for that I have to take away some stars. I reccomend the food

I was super excited to discover this food truck, as I am on a huge falafel kick and theirs is one of the best around!

BEST falafel EVEREVEREVER!!! Never mind the great flavor – it is THE softest falafel I’ve had in my life! Nothing comes close… These guys put a lot of love into their preparation, and you can taste it. Fresh and delicious – that’s all you need to be happy! Check their website to see where they are, usually at the farmers markets(City Hall on Wednesdays and Upper Kirby on Saturdays) and Inversion(breakfast early in the week, lunch later in the week).

I stumbled upon this place by attending urban harvest farmers market. The market runs every Saturday morning usually 8−12pm. I was looking for my usual vegan goodies & happened stop by the food truck to check out the menu. I see falafel sandwich so im already on board. I order the sandwich, I ask for it spicy & a few minutes later success. While I was waiting I started talking to a guy who was waiting on two falafel sandwiches, one for him & one for his wife. He assured me the sandwich was excellent. The sandwich itself was superb! Definitely one of the best falafel sandwiches I’ve had in Houston. Definitely up in the ranks of Phoenicia & Gyro King, which also have superb sandwiches. Veggies where fresh, pickled turnips were not too bitter, falafels cooked & seasoned perfectly. Service was good. Everything is made to order so it did take a little bit, but nothing terrible. My conversation with the locals made it pleasant. If your looking for something new to try, this place is definitely worth a taste. Ill most likely be back for another.

Had the falafel plate at liberty station. Awesome. Comes with 5 falafel, tomatoes, cucumber and beat. Fantastic. A great meal for a reasonable price

Quick Tips: Tried this food stand at the City Hall Farmer’s Market(every Wednesday) on a coworkers suggestion. My recommendation: order some extremely reasonably priced falafel and grab a spot in the sun for a nice getaway from the grind. Food: I want to try everything, but the falafel was delicious so it will be hard to not order it again next time. You can tell the care that is put into the food and I love that the falafel is cooked right there in front of you. It takes a little longer, but delicious when piping hot. I recommend adding the hot sauce too if you can handle it! I want to try the spicy curry meatball sandwich next! The pork meatballs also look interesting, but I will probably need to pull a Costanza style nap under my desk if I have that for lunch. Service: Great service with a smile.

Rani keeps adding more and more wonderful dishes for everyone’s enjoyment. I dont have a favorite any longer because each dish is better than the next and it is hard to choose. Try his version of a kibbeh, a lamb sausage in a wonderful sauce sort of a Mediterranean empanada, served with a mint sauce. The falafel and curry meatballs are still high on my list of favorites. Looking forward to the food truck so I can enjoy Oddball Eats more often. Top great food with first class friendly service and you always get a great dining experience.

Was pleasantly surprised to find this place at Urban Harvest. The falafels were yummy; I liked that they used green garbanzos, and I appreciated the many vegan options. The pickled turnips were scrumptious, and whatever farm they got their tomatoes from grew such juicy tasty ones!

This past Saturday i was at the market early. I’m pretty much always at the market early. At this point I barely go to the grocery store, and if you don’t get to market early, you don’t get the good stuff. I usually lunch early at Giacomo’s to get that meatball dish that uses the market beef, but I had a full day of chores and I knew that wasn’t going to happen. So I decided to hit up some ready made at market — which I almost never do. I’ve heard horror stories of «farmer’s markets» in other cities that are 90% food trucks and no farmers. I do my best to focus on the farmers and save the ready made for the occasions I dine out. But I needed a bite on the run, there it is. Restaurant I’ve been to before… Restaurant I’ve been to before… Restaurant I’ve been to before… Restaurant I’ve been to before… OOO! What’s this? Egyptian? Yes please. The poor guy, he was only just getting set up. Did I mention I was there early? But he took my order. And a few other people. Just as he’s got all cylinders firing, the electrical system feeding his frier for the falafel goes out — he’s got cold oil. Very apologetic, offered me a refund, &c. Excellent service. I opted to wait. Needed food on the run after all! So glad I waited. I eat a lot of falafel. Between being vegetarian about half the year and doing a lot of my socializing with folks from North Africa and the Middle East, I eat a lot of falafel. Oddball knows from falafel. Light. Crunchy. Soft. Deep brown. Wonderfully spiced. The ful was excellent. The salad was all market veggies so you know those are great. Great guy, great food. Definitely worth the wait.

One of my favorite places to grab lunch at the farmer’s market. To bad they only cater if they’re not at the farmer’s market. Their sandwiches are delicious. I’ve tried the spicy curry meatball, falafeel and vietnamese sandwich, respectively from my most to least favorite. The curry meatball sandwich has a great curry flavor and definitely something you should get if you’re looking for a curry taste. I wasn’t a fan of the vietnamese. It was just decent in my opinion. I’m not a fan of ginger and cilantro and both flavors really stood out. I’ve also tried their pulled pork/mac and cheese fried balls. Those were just okay. Rather get a sandwich.

Tried Oddball Eats from a coworker recommendation. Ordered the Spicy Curry Meatball Sandwich. Great taste… not too spicy. Perfect size for lunch. Also tried the pickled turnips. OE gave me a free serving. Those things have a little kick and are addicting. I don’t even really like turnips, but loved the pickled turnips. Service was quick… prepared right on the spot. Tent is located at downtown farmers market. Will definitely go back to try more.

Delicious and the guys that run OE are pretty cool! They were more than willing to accommodate our allergy requests! Can’t wait to try them again soon.

Not a huge fan of meatballs, but this is def worth a try. Big size and friendly service. I’ve tried them at the downtown farmer’s market. The lamb meatball: Lamb meatball sandwich… you crazy… crazy good! Serious spice flavors going on here. Vietnamese meatball: Eh. I had this the week after the lamb and it was just decent. It also didn’t have enough sauce for me so it was a little dry. Luckily I keep hot sauces in my desk at work. ;) Pulled pork/mac n cheese fried balls: This was only OK in that I never saw any pork. The smokey flavor was there, but I couldn’t physically see the meat. Fried mushroom risotto balls: They tasted very very similar to the mushroom risotto my bf made a couple weeks ago. Hence, they were YUMMY! But seriously, they were.

I rarely get to work downtown. Usually my days are spent in some coffee shop working on documents of little import, or deep in the bowels of some massive corporate entity also working on documents of little import. Just so happens the powers that be required my services Downtown. And on my second day of secondment a co-worker said there was a farmer’s market(+1) with food trucks(+1). And our weather has been unseasonly reasonable, this would be an interesting lunch. Perusing the various offerings, there was some decent competition in this square, but they had me at falafel. 2 youngstas manned the table. They had many meat balls available, beef, lamb, and something else, and some pecan baklava if I recall — but I came for the chickpeas. Ambiance — It’s City Hall, so your view of the ambiance will be inversely related to the temperature. The temperature was great and the crowds weren’t there.(It was about 1.00) Service — Great. The guy was really nice, and handled his customers well. Even the upsell was handled well.(although 5 bucks for baklaa when your sandwiches are 7 – 8 bucks is a hard sell.) The Falafel Sandwich — $ 7(8 for the meat sandwiches) — the bread — Were you expecting a rolled up flat bread making it a Mediterranean burrito? Perhaps you lean more towards a ball stuffed Pita? Neither, it was actually a nice french loaf/baguette not too crusty. — A yogurt sauce, lettuce, tomato, and get this KRINKLEKUT pickled turnips. As I generally hate all things crinkle cut, these actually turned out okay. I still believe the julienne style is better. — the falafel — Deep brown outside, yellowish/greenish interior. It was flavored well with the requisite spices, but I really wish I’d been a little more gauche and ripped into it while it was still fresh and hot. The heat definitely dissipated in the 10 minutes that it took me to get back to the office. Good stuff.
