Omaha Steaks is arguably the most famous steak seller(due to marketing and advertising) and is commonly considered«the» designer /brand name steak(among those who aren’t serious about steak). Although we have a couple of physical stores here in Houston(and maybe even some restaurants?), it is primarily mail order steak and known as mail order steak. Omaha Steaks isn’t the best steak around, and is way overpriced if you’re paying full price(versus sales and promotions), but gosh darnit, the service in this store is fantastic! This store is located in a small strip center across a small street from the much larger Town & Country shopping center. The store itself is tiny, lined with freezers, and does not look too fancy(sort of upscale-casual-modern-Spartan-masculine-Dean&Deluca-esque), but with the service, I felt like I was at the Ritz Carlton. Clearly this company knows how to train its employees.(Do you hear me L.A. Fitness???) The service was unrushed, knowledgeable, voluntarily informative, unpretentious and genuinely pleasant(versus fake), respectful, accommodating, eager to please, professional, patient, and even volunteers to carry your purchases to your car even though it’s 900 degrees outside and you specifically tell them out of guilt when they offer that you parked far away and that it’s not really necessary. Because of this, I overlook the little frozen vacuum-sealed filet mignons that are placed in deceivingly large and wasteful cardboard presentation boxes. FYI, coming to the store you save on shipping fees and get to look at and pick your steaks versus mail order.

Omaha steaks is a chain store of frozen meats, veggies, desserts, and the like… There is also an associated website. Omaha steaks is a small store that has a wide variety of prepackage meats, pre-made veggie side dishes, frozen desserts, and some steak seasonings. The food is all good quality and very consistent. They have everything from different steak cuts, burgers, stuffed chicken, chicken breasts, seafood, stuffed baked potatoes, potatoes au gratin, chocolate chip cookie dough, molten chocolate cake, and I could go on and on. I regularly purchase my frozen items here. I never pay full price. I use coupons or have them price match the website. My all time favorites are the Chicken Kiev, scalloped potatoes, and the chocolate chip cookies! Everything comes with detailed directions on how to cook it(which is great for those of us who don’t even know if our oven is gas or electric!). The people at this location are really great. In the hot summer, I get worried about frozen stuff thawing before I can get it back to Sugar Land. They are nice enough to pack everything into bags with ice packs! Tips: Bring in web coupons or a copy of what the website prices and the stores will honor the price! You can save a TON this way.
