HoneyBaked Ham

Used to be the place to go until HEB came out with there Honey Baked Hams at a much cheaper price. Another good thing there is no wait!

I ordered a ham online and that part was very easy to do. I forgot the confirmation print out at home but apparently you don’t need it so I guess you really don’t have to reserve one. The line was out the door but only a few people. The line inside wrapped around but it probably only took about 10 minutes to get in and out. There were plenty of people working and everyone was friendly. Lots of high school and college kids I’m sure picking up an extra job or hours during the business season. I got a half-​ham to feed 20 people and it cost $ 73. I had a coupon emailed to me for $ 10 off so that helped. They have the best ham even though it is pricey. Best quality over grocery store bought ham.

This Honeybaked store is one you can come to all year unlike those little mall shops that only open for the holidays. Because of this we knew it would have frozen sides and not just hams. I had some gift certificates from my work so I figured this would be a good way to eat for part of the week without having to cook.
We decided on a smoked a turkey breast and 3 sides and it totaled to a bit over $ 45. For a family that might seem like a lot, but for 2 people it was about 3 meals as well as a few turkey sandwiches after the sides ran out. We even wound up having to throw a little bit of the turkey out at the end of the week.
The turkey breast was good, but similar to breast meat you’d get a deli counter in that it was formed into a dome-​like shape. The sides are okay, nothing really special though other than their «orange walnut cranberry sauce» which was made with whole cranberries.
In all, it was a good option for saving some cooking effort for the week and some money on groceries (it was almost free after all), but I don’t know if I’d make the drive from Katy just to grab this if I were totally footing the bill.
