Oriental Rug Bazaar

We’ve been doing business with Oriental Rug Bazaar for years. They offer a great selection of rugs. They also offer pick up and delivery which I find very convenient. They can take care of any damages on the rug. Plus, they offer cleaning service. We’ve been a very happy customers and we’ll continue our business with them.

The rug repairs has really convenient pick-​up and delivery. I’m excited for the rug to be our living room centrepiece again.

I hired this company to clean a 9×12 sea grass rug, specifically, several pet stains. The representative told me that they were experienced in cleaning sea grass rugs.
I found this company on Google, where they had several positive 5-​star reviews. After my horrible experience I looked over the reviews again, and several of them appear to be suspiciously self-​written.
The company picked up and dropped off the rug for $ 60 total, which I felt was fair. When they returned the «clean» rug, the pet stains were still visible, which the rep warned may happen. However, the rest of the rug looked terrible. It did not look this way before the cleaning. It was warped, and the backing was disintegrating.
The delivery men spoke little English, so my boyfriend called the company and spoke to the owner. This man was intimidating, verbally abusive, and threatening. He refused to adjust the price of the cleaning. Then he said something to the effect of «why don’t you come down here and see if you can get your money back» in a very threatening manner. He told us that we were warned that the rug may be damaged in the cleaning process, which was not true. Not once did the rep I initially spoke to warn that the rug may be damaged during cleaning. We would not have cleaned it if that was the case.
Then the owner told us the rug was cheap. Maybe it is compared to Oriental rugs, but the company should not be cleaning these type of rugs if they cannot withstand their cleaning process. Their cheapness or luxuriousness is irrelevant. We decided not to pursue the matter further due to the owner’s aggressive nature. It’s just not worth it. Overall a horrible experience and $ 475 down the drain.
