Panaderia Monarca

We decided to try this bakery out and it was a great decision! The bread is cheap in price but high in flavor! Loved all the breads we got! Empanadas were great too! They were baked hard so you can dip them in your coffee! Absolutely delicious!

My neighborhood panadería. Everything is fresh and you never have to fight crowds like at Arandas. The owner is usually there and is always sweet to my kids and I. Try the french rolls, they make them daily and are pretty much made for tortas.

I’ve never been to a panaderia before nor have I ever even tried a Mexican pastry, but I’ve always been intrigued. I noticed this little place in my neighborhood and decided to check it out. I’m glad I did. There was a wide assortment of breads and pastries that you can pick out with a pair of tongs and place on the available metal trays. Everything looked freshly made. I ended up buying four different sweets, an empanada cajeta, which from what I understand is a goat milk caramel empanada, a chocolate concha, which is a conch shaped bread, some kind of pineapple Danish and another bread that I don’t know the name of. Everything was delicious. Again, this was only my first time trying Mexican pastries so I’m not sure how they would compare to similar products from other places. However, they tasted fresh and most importantly to me, they were not overly sweet. The chocolate concha didn’t really taste like chocolate but it wasn’t a big deal to me. I would definitely visit again to try some of their other offerings.

I am so impressed with the birthday cake that Panaderia Monarca made for my son’s party earlier this month. It was a 2-​tier WWE cake that was not only beautifully done, but was so delicious as well. We’ll be back soon!

This place is different to other bakeries I’ve visited because it’s basically self serve from the moment you walk in… You pick up a tray & tongs and start choosing delicious pastries & breads to your heart’s delight; I highly recommend it.
