Pappas Bar-B-Q

Now I remember the first one I been to, it was completely different. This one is ok not as good as the first one I visited, now I ordered the Beef Slice po boy. It was well seasoned but it was missing something special though. My wife ordered the plain potato and it wasn’t as flavorful as the first one. Maybe it’s this particular one but it’s a great stop if you want a snack or some Texas Bar-​B-​Que

I don’t really know where to start… we thought we’d give them another try since we didn’t like them the 1^st time we tried them when they 1^st bought out Luthers BBQ years ago. The secret to good BBQ is in the sauce, which was terrible, both of them! We had pork ribs and the only good thing was the price, which was still too much for the quality of food. The coleslaw was completely dry and tasted like plain cabbage, the ribs were better plain and I never do DRY, but I did this time. The beans were way too sweet… if you’re looking for good BBQ you’re better off at Spring Creek, Goode BBQ or Waller County Line BBQ. We don’t mind paying for good tasting food, which wasn’t there, but wanted to hive them another try-​NEVER AGAIN!

Great food but terrible service. Every time I come here I am just so disappointed with how rude they are and the fact that they leave something out of my order and I have to drive back to the store just to argue with them about it when they refuse to give it back. I have a newborn, I don’t have time for this!

We stopped in on our way North on 45. I was truly disappointed in the quality of food. The beef broach it was dry and the pork ribs were tough and even a little bloody. The Mac and cheese was nothing more than Kraft shells and cheese. My husband had the beans and slaw. Neither was anything special. I had a tossed salad that was very fresh. The salad was the best part. The sweet tea was even a disappointment. We won’t visit again.

Excellent. Food. Everytime. The food is always delicious no matter what you get. Love the breakfast tacos, but you can only buy them during the week in the mornings at the drive through window.

This review is based solely on breakfast. I stopped in and grabbed several breakfast tacos. Wow! These tortillas are stuffed with breakfast goodness. They have the basic breakfast taco which contains eggs and your choice of bacon or sausage, and cheese. They also have premium breakfast tacos which includes meat products such as pork or brisket. I had a premium breakfast taco which was brisket, hashbrowns, eggs, and cheese. When you first opened it, it can look a little greasy from the brisket juices. However, it tasted absolutely delicious.
The pricing of these tacos is not very expensive. It is definitely less expensive than driving through your local fast food restaurant. The drive-​through was quick and courteous. Because of the size of my order, they asked me to pull over into a convenient parking spot so they could wait on people behind me. That is totally understandable because I had purchased several tacos and they had to have time to make them. All in all, I highly recommend this particular Pappa’s for their breakfast drive-​through service. Absolutely delicious. Give them a try.

No chicken at lunch time… That has to be to most crazy thing I have heard. On a Friday before noon at a BBQ restaurant…

Not only are these the best breakfast tacos in town, you literally can not beat their daily breakfast specials.

The meat is delicious and the fries are really good. I love the convenience of the drive thru. So much better than most fast food out there.
The sandwich bun could have been better. Tasted like it came from a grocery store bag. If they did fresh baked it would make a big difference on the sandwiches.
I’ll be back to try the ribs next time! :)

Ribs were dry. Green beans dry. I’ve never had such dry distasteful food at a BBQ place before.

Chicken = dry
Turkey = dry
Chopped beef in baked potato = okay
Brisket = average
Customer service = horribly rude
Potato salad = extra cold & flavorless
Macaroni and cheese = watery

This was some of the worst food I have ever had– and that’s not only in the bbq category.
I came here for lunch with my SO, a friend, and her family. I ordered the beef brisket plate, which came with two sides. I chose Mac n cheese and coleslaw. I didn’t get a drink, so my total came out to ~$ 15 total.
Let me tell you– this was the worst $ 15 I’ve spent in a very long time. The meat was mediocre at best. Dry in most parts and the fatty part was more grease than anything. They have two kinds of bbq sauce– regular and «hot». Both tasted like watered down, vinegary ketchup. Gross. As for the sides, the coleslaw was really just «cole” — just shredded lettuce. It didn’t have any dressing whatsoever. The Mac n cheese was… not awful. It was probably the best part, but that’s not saying much. I left most of my meal on the plate because I just couldn’t stomach it.
So anyways… avoid this place at all costs. I can’t even believe they call it bbq.
I would forgive it all if the meal had cost $ 5. But it cost $ 15.which would have been much better spent just about anywhere, even Taco Bell.

Excellent — huge portions, good food, great atmosphere, will be going back…

First off, the parking is horrible. It’s a safety issue having to cross the parking lot right where the I45 access ramp is.
When I walk in to place the order, there are 2 people standing behind the counter. Neither said «hi», so I said that I wanted to order. While I was telling the guy what I wanted, he just stared at me — no motion — it was like he was on drugs. I was ordering chopped brisket sandwiches when the lady asked me to give her my menu. What? I’m still ordering — then a BBQ sandwich shows up in front of me and the meat cutter guy is slicing brisket. I asked the lady what the BBQ sandwich was for and she asked if I had ordered it. Then, she puts 2 sliced brisket sandwiches in front of me — I said that I had asked for chopped sandwiches. She handed the 2 sandwiches back to the meat cutter guy, and he gave ME a look! Then, the lady asks if I still wanted the BBQ sandwich. I told her that I never ordered it! Meanwhile, the guy is just staring. We left.
This was the most bizarre restaurant experience of my life!

Mid afternoon today we were hungry and too tired to cook after a late night party (oh yes and in my case drinking one or two margarita’s too many — ill have to blame the excellent bartender who took care of our bar at home last night — heavy handed with the tequila!)
Well I had the shredded beef baked potato loaded but minus the fake bacon bits — it hit the spot! My wife had the 3 beef rib platter — I didn’t think she could manage all three but she did a great job! Two thumbs up!

Just ate here and enjoyed it very much. Not sure why everyone gives bad reviews. I had the sliced beef sandwich and it was real good. My fiancé had the same with fries an enjoyed it. Although he did say everyone was right about how the BBQ sauce is not good. I didn’t use any. He also said the fries were just fine. If in the area and wanting BBQ, I would probably come back.

Excellent food, friendly service. The only down side was a loud scream right before we left and no one acted curious, like it was typical. Hmmm. Great Bbq though.

Disappointing. Pulled pork was salty. French fries salty. Bbq sauce salty. Only thing that was good was the ice tea and ice cream. Bathrooms exceptionally clean, restaurant itself very clean and good music playing. Service was good.

Overpriced and under flavored. I judge a BBQ place by their brisket and their sauce and was very disappointed in both. Sauce was awful and brisket was just eh. The potatoes looked great, but I can make one of those at home. The chicken was just ok as well. I can make much better at home for much cheaper. Won’t be back.

The atmosphere is nice but I’ve had better BBQ. I was not impressed with the sauce. The French fries are ok but they’d be better if they weren’t quite so thick or seasoned more, they tasted pretty plain.
