I would like to send a shout out to the people who were working there Jan. 282016, YOUGUYSAREAWESOME! I took my family there and even though we got there at 8 we ordered our food late around 8:50. They were polite, awesome, and patient with us. I’m glad we went there for a small bday dinner and THANKYOU guys to the fullest!!! God bless…

Pretty pricey. Everything is very big though. I’m not a fan of the bbq sauce, but the burgers, baked potatoes and macaroni salad are really tasty. The sweet tea is also, pretty delicious, but very sweet.

Slow and unorganized service. The woman on the register at 6:30 pm on a Friday night didn’t have a clue what she was doing. The manager had to correct her mistakes but honestly she shouldn’t have been on the register on a busy night. Food was lack luster and bland. I will not return to this location

So I haven’t really been feeling good and def not in the mood to cook so THANKFULLY Papa’s came to the rescue with some tasty turkey dinner.(turkey, ham, dressing w/all the fixings and perfectly packed to go) I called, ordered, picked up, so easy, so convenient and though it wasn’t MY food, it certainly did the job and quite well I might say. The day has been looking up every since. The pecan pie is divine :) Will post pics soon.

Fair price for a decent meal. I had the chopped beef potato which was a good size for a lunch. While it is satisfying, it’s not amazing in taste or size. With tax it is just over $ 11, so it’s a little more pricy than going for fast food and places with lunch specials but it was walking distance to my conference.

My date and I went had lunch at this location 10÷10÷15, this eating experience was wonderful ! The chicken, ribs, smoked turkey was cook to preference. The baked beans and potato salad was excellent. The pecan pie and sweet tea put me in the mind of «Grandmother’s cooking. The cashier was pleasant and helpful also a huge difference from our last experience. My guess new kitchen staff I notice a cook preparing the chicken, ribs and brisket when entering to place our order. I would recommend this location to family and friends. We really had a wonderful experience and the meal was delicious!

As the manager at this location explained the pink color the chicken had was due to the wood and cooking process used. Everything was corrected she made a great effort to solve the issue I got a plain bake potato I was not comfortable getting the half chicken because it looked the same as the other I got the first time.

Disappointment. I like all the other Papa’s restaurants, by the barbecue here was mundane, dry, not tender and really lacked flavor. Had the brisket and pork spare ribs. The ribs had a gamy taste, not smokey or seasoned. Didn’t care much for their sauce either. I hate to say this, but Rudy’s barbecue is much much better

Nothing’s made fresh. I had the brisket w/ranch beans & potato salad. The brisket was more fat than meat, the beans were disgusting, the potato salad was decent but all of it tasted pre-packaged. Was so disappointed. I usually love food in the Pappa’s chain. Guess there’s a dud in every batch. On a more positive note, the restaurant itself is tastefully decorated and comfortable with ample parking. Staff is super friendly.

Well this is a chain bar b que spot which isn’t always a bad thing, but this bar b que just isn’t that good to me. I’m speaking about the entire chain not just this location. I think they have a great chop beef baked potato, beef ribs, burgers, and a sweet watermelon drink. If i order a burger, I always get the kid meal because their burger basket is huge. And well that’s where it ends, because I’m not a fan of anything else. I don’t like the bar b que sauce but I know a few people that I’ve gone with that do. And the 290 location has recently with up on their prices which is disappointing. A single rib is now $ 4.95. Believe you me, their ribs aren’t that good that I would pay $ 5 for it. The fries are ok, but I’m not a fan of any of their sides. The potato salad tastes very store bought.

Cool sink inside the front door to wash your hands either before you eat or after. Fun & comfortable atmosphere. Very spacious and clean. Friendly service. I ordered the chopped beef baked potato. It was HUGE! Wasn’t bad but I have definitely had better. Fairly bland taste. However, I would return and try other things.

Perfect place for you to pig out on lunch time. You can get a big plate(½ chicken and 2 sides) for less than $ 10. To top it off, they have a cantaloupe juice that just taste good! Definitely a recommended place for lunch hours on a weekday.

Top notch. Great meats and veggies. Potatoes are delish. One of the best salads around for lunch. Big ass ice tea. Love the butter beans. One of my regular places. Most didn’t knew that they have breakfast tacos here in the morn. Drive thru to get them. They are amazing

The food is good. The place is spacious and clean. It’s got a neat Western feel. The food is good, but I must say that it smells so much better in the air outside than the food actually smells. I tried the baby back ribs and chicken. The chicken had a nice smoky flavor, but I really did not like the baby back ribs. They were dry and not very flavorful. I’ve tried to be friendly to the staff, but they never smile back. The just seem to want to rush us through(even though no one else is in line).

This location is very clean and spacious. Service was quick and friendly. One of the things I use to enjoy at Pappas was their chef salad. It’s really big and I wasn’t that hungry so I decided to get a smaller one. It was a but disappointing. The sliced turkey on top was delicious, but no additional toppings other than tomatoes and cheese. The dressing was also a but sparse. It would have been better with egg and bacon crumbles on top.

I honestly do not understand why there are so many negative reviews, especially on the sauce! I love this place so much I am here almost weekly. I always order the sliced sausage and brisket combo with macaroni and yams. Its always fresh, hot and flavorful. I happen to love the sauce and much prefer it to Rudy’s or Goode Company. I guess peoples taste buds differ but I encourage you to try it out for yourself bc I am a really picky eater and can’t get enough of this place and have been coming for years.

Whenever out of towners ask me about good places to eat I always tell them that if it has the word Pappas in the title it is good i.e. Pappadeaux’s, Pappasito’s, Pappa’s Burgers and Pappas Steak House. Pappa’s BBQ is another matter and I don’t understand why. Today I decided to give them another try not having eaten here in over 5 years. It’s because back then nothing made me want to return and today it was no different. Now, you may notice that I am giving them a 3 which is not a bad score. However at other Pappa’s restaurant you get a 4 or maybe at the Steak place a 5. I tried a brisket sandwich that came with fries. The sandwich was good and so were the fries. But not up to Rudy’s standards, not up to The Brisket House’s standards, not up to Its Ribs standards just to mention a few. Houston is becoming a BBQ town more and more every year and as a major restaurant name in the Houston market, Pappas is not keeping pace.

First off this location is WAY better than the location on I-45 and Crosstimbers! The employees are just more friendly and customer services forward. My first visit to this location started off iffy because they took a minute to greet and start taking my order. However their great attitudes made up for it! I ordered a kids meal, chili cheese fries and this Rodeo special which consists of sliced brisket, link sausage and two sides. Needless to say we left with a full plate from everyone’s leftovers! I might didn’t break the bank either. I highly recommend coming here and I found out that they off lunch sizes and lunch prices.

Nope. Houston has never been known for barbecue, but Pappas has brought that down a notch. I love barbecue like a fat kid loves cake. And I know that this is a chain, so before I walked in the door, I set my expectations pretty low. Aside from the general grocery-store quality of the barbecue itself, the sides were pretty tasteless. But the greatest sin here is the«sauce.» You would have thought I had known better: It resembled motor oil in its thick black viscosity. But I still drizzled the mixture over the meat, expecting a mediocre experience at best. Instead, I am still have horror flashbacks. This is the Vietnam of sauces. It has this horrible bitterness that is reminiscent of burnt coffee. I didn’t taste any sweetness, any heat, anything other than pure bitterness. Next time, I’ll just grab a frozen BBQ sandwich from Kroger.

It’s good when you know what to get! However a great restaurant shouldn’t operate like that. The ribs taste pre-boiled, I’d avoid that. I like my BBQ smoked from beginning to end. I just haven’t gotten a true smokey flavor with any of their meats. Regarding the Texas KING of meats: the brisket baby! I think they do a meh job on it, it’s ok if you don’t have hours to slave over a pit AND they are the nearest bbq joint BUT(not to brag, ok maybe a little) my Dad’s puts it to shame. The price of anything with brisket did rise last year *cue mean face* but I still indulge. Mainly with the chopped beef sandwich $ 6.45 and the heart attack on a plate, chili cheese fries. $ 4.95 thick cut fries(actually a bit TOO thick at times) with cheese and chili with chunks of brisket in it(they could stand to be a little less stingy with the brisket) and ground meat. I used to kill those baked spuds with chopped beef but when I moved back to Houston and saw the price hike to $ 9 smackaroos since my olden days. man I haven’t had one. Maybe it’s a fair price idk but considering what I used to pay for them, my wallet won’t let me compromise. But you definitely will enjoy! Always a daily special on a bfast taco, haven’t met one I didn’t like. The pecan pie and cookies are great meal finishers as well.
