Breakfast tacos are amazing. Wondered why there was always a line in the morning at the drive thru. Found out! Huge breakfast tacos. Drive thru service only in the morning!

I came in today to eat as, as many times before, yet today I was told that I could not order a three meat plate. I was told that I could only order a set plate, meaning they chose what meats I got. That’s not how it works. If I am the customer, then I decide what meats I get. Crappy service. I’ll never return to any of their establishments.

This is one of my favorite places to stop for breakfast tacos. Not only do they have a menu diverse than most, but also some if the biggest tacos I’ve gotten via a drive thru(I’m looking at you Taco Cabana). Pappas BBQ’s are darn near burrito sized and only the freshest ingredients are used. I initially stayed out buying two tacos but realized immediately one is enough! I haven’t tried them all but can say for certain you won’t be disappointed with anything you select. Also, try the breakfast potatoes!

First and last time I will go to this restaurant. Staff needs to learn how to treat customers with respect. Food was cold and expensive. Just not my night.

While the food is good, be extremely aware and double check to go orders – for the 3rd time that I can remember, to go order missing substantial portions of it – today it was all my sides. Not sure if employees fully understand what all the parts of to go packs include, but it’s pretty ridiculous that the customer has to be hyper aware and the company is ho-hum about it…

Gotta get the hot wings and stiffed baked potato. They have really good pricing great service. S Main is the location that sells the hot wings year round.

The jambalaya rice and bbq are so good here. Other places taste so plain while this place rice is super delicious.

So my office and I once again gave Pappas another shot, since orders were messed up the last 2 times. We placed order over the phone and when went to pick up, one of our orders wasn’t even on the ticket. I mean this place is very horrible when it comes down to the high turn over on the staff. Everyone is always new here and can never get our orders correct. Food is great but staff isn’t fully into their jobs. Strike 3 on here and this place has lost our business.

I avoid chains when traveling to other states and I’ve found some great BBQ in Texas, but it wasn’t here. I set my expectations low when I saw a drive through. But I thought, «Well as long as it’s as good as Dickies, I’m fine with that.» Nope. Double nope. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I paid almost $ 17 for the ½ chicken and 2 baby back ribs. The chicken was way undercooked. Red and bloody. I couldn’t eat it. The ribs were tiny, dry and meatless. I got two sides. Mac-n-cheese, which was the best part of the meal, and the yams. The yams were cold and not good. My Diet Coke was fabulous at least. So most of my meal is on my plate still. Lastly the house BBQ sauce just isn’t very good. I didn’t try the other one because it’s spicy. I won’t be back. Sorry.

I haven’t gone here for the bbq in a while, so I’ll have to do an updated review when I do. However, this review is for their breakfast sandwich. I used to go here more frequently when I lived closer and strictly got the breakfast tacos. Huge, sloppy, amazing af. On my last visit, I originally opted for the brisket breakfast sandwich but they didn’t have brisket. Like what?! No brisket? Is this a regular thing? So I ended up with the sausage breakfast sandwich which included scrambled eggs and cheese. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it came in a jalapeño cheese brioche style bun. The bread was soft and pillowy. It tasted amazing! My euphoric experience got cut short when I found a long brown hair baked into the bun. Yes. Baked. Into the bun. Not one to be easily grossed out by hair in my food so yeah, I kept on eating. Still good.

When I spent a week here, I tried Pappa’s. I ordered a dry rack of ribs and brisket sandwich. They were both pretty good, especially the sandwich. I can’t wait to return for my next Houston trip!

I am amazed at the constant customer turnover. Maybe it’s the low prices. The other diners ate all on their plates. The chicken was all little pieces with more bones than chicken. The beef & pork were little better. The side dishes looked as if they’d been sitting all day and were more than bland. The 2BBQ sauces were awful . I went in knowing that i should not have a great expectation but this was, sadly, the worst BBQ I’ve ever(not) eaten. We left w/o eating most of our plates.

We came here because the roads were so messed up and we were tired of trying to find the original place to eat. The food was good but the sauce they poured on our meats was not good at all, resulting in us trying to get it off. The portion size is average and not inline with the cost. The service is really good. There is a bar connected to the main dining area and people can get very loud during the games.

I am shocked I am giving these only 3 stars. My drive thru order was a 2 meat plate with 2 sides– brisket, sausage, potato salad and green beans. The brisket, sausage and potato salad were excellent. The green beans were not cooked and flavorless. The container of bbq sauce was anything but bbq sauce. It tasted like salt and peppered worcestershire sauce. I also ordered 2 tamales because I have never had them there. I was not a fan of them. The masa was very sweet and if I could eat the super spicy salsa they come with then maybe it would have offset the sweetness but the salsa was way to spicy. I went an hour before the Women’s USA– Japan soccer game so maybe they had a huge rush of business and were to much in a hurry to get out some food. But I would rather wait for good food then pay for items that will ruin my meal.

Alright so I keep hearing about the Pappa’s chain so I needed to give this place a try. Pretty spacious restaurant inside and the drive through had a long line! Very clean and has a diner feel to it — I was hoping more western. Now for the food. It’s like the fast food of BBQ. Normal cafeteria style where you line up to order — no big deal — but the value picks are for To-Go orders only. So we had to speak to the manager to order by the pound because we had 15 – 20 people. They were nice about it. This place accommodates large groups no prob, especially because we came early and just pushed tables together! Now the food. Ok the brisket is alright, not dry, not super moist either. The beef ribs are on the tougher side and the pork ribs are alright too. The sausage is spicy and the chicken is ok. The BBQ sauce is a little too sweet and taste a little like celery, I’m not a fan. They have a bar for all the pickles and onions you want. The desserts were ok, not great as well. I think this place is suitable for quick food — but after going to a few other BBQ places in Texas — this definitely wouldn’t be my first choice. I want to say it’s close to Goode Company BBQ — wise. But Killen’s is still the greatest BBQ I’ve had here in Texas!

Went to Pappas with my boyfriend’s family who came to visit from New York. We went to Pappas because it had room to fit all of us, and I didn’t expect it to compare to a few other BBQ places that I’ve had. However, it was still pretty good and we had room to accommodate everyone. I recommend the ribs(just get it), sausage, and brisket! There are also several sides, and I got mac n cheese, veggies, and corn. You order by getting in a cafeteria-style line and put things on your tray. This was good for a large group because we were able to get all of our food at the same time and we can start eating right away. There’s also a buffet style area for other condiments. I’d suggest going here for a big group. There’s also other BBQ places like Rudy’s and Goode’s that could be a similar option.

You know, I like Pappas BBQ. The service is always great here and I’ve never had a problem with my order. This location is close to NRG stadium. My mom likes the breakfast burritos a lot. She said I’ve had one before, but I just don’t remember. But just passing by in the mornings and looking at the drive thru line, they are very popular. I try to eat healthy, but when I do want to eat burgers this place is at the top of my list. Their burgers are so delicious. You can also never go wrong with a chopped beef baked potato. When ordering large takeout orders. It’s good to call ahead, because sometimes this place gets pretty busy. Actually call ahead anytime you can. Sometimes I don’t call ahead because I like to drive through the drive thru. When events are going on at NRG park I wouldn’t advise anyone to come here if you are in a hurry. The place gets really packed. Other than that it’s a pretty cool spot with decent bbq. And that watermelon drink is soooo good!

Papas BBQ Open, clean, spacious interior Cafeteria style service Meat cut off brisket while I watched Good smoke ring Friendly service Deserts looked great — praline was good but not wow Kind of pricy 11 w/1 side Very tender beef Not enough sauce Sauce has weak smoky flavor No extra sauce available on tables Mac & Cheese could have come from a box Leave dishes on table VERDICT: not the best, but I would go back

Food = okay. Mixed platter = beef brisket, ham, ribs and sliced sausage. Good seasoning on the rib and brisket. The ham was too dry. Platter came with the choice of two sides: we tried their corn(super sweet) and macaroni and cheese(good and hearty). Our biggest problem: Their BBQ sauce tasted burnt… And not in the good way. :( Baked potato with chicken = delicious. Full meal! Chicken was juicy, tender and full of flavor. Prices = moderate. Service = okay
