Saw one of the main cooks blow his nose on paper towels this morning and go right back to cooking. GROSSSSSS! At least when your kitchen is in the front of the restaurant/at the line use sanitary practices!

Whenever I want to cheat and have a bad breakfast I just cruise on down to pastabilities and get me a scrumptious breakfast taco. I love the spicy potatoes and the fresh Bacon straight out of the oven. Yum! The cook Nando is so sweet and I can appreciate that He remembers my preference of Bacon and makes sure He does the to accommodate me. The cashier can be b! tchy at times and really annoying. She hasn’t been there in a week so I hope she found another job or something. Beware that on Fridays the line is ridiculous and can be out the restaurant. You could find yourself waiting over 15 minutes to get your food as there is only one cooking station and only enough space for one person to cook. Overall it’s a great place to overindulge and have a breakfast treat!

Ok lunch, but good variety, large portions, and low prices. Pastabilities is open for breakfast and lunch. Pastabilities is located in the tunnel near Thai Spice and MacDonald’s and across from the smoothie shop. Tables may be hard to find at this location, but you can walk down the tunnel another two minutes and sit near the Schlotzsky’s. I tried the lunch special, pasta florentine. The price was right: $ 7 for the pasta, a side salad, and a drink. I was given a large portion of pasta with chicken. Some spinach and mushrooms were mixed-in with the sauce. The chicken was cooked right and the mushrooms and spinach were delicious. The problem I had was with the taste of the sauce. It needed something, perhaps salt or another type of seasoning. I may go back and try something else and have heard the pizza and breakfast items are good. This particular lunch special will be skipped.

This place was in my normal rotation for years due to the proximity to my building and they were one of the few places that would prepare an omelete BUT I have seen several RATS crawling around when the business was closed. I’m not saying the place is filthy but the RATS seem to be familar with the location. If that doesn’t bother you then…

I really enjoyed the breakfast tacos I’ve had from here. Everything is really fresh even the eggs cracked right in front of you. The portions are huge but they do charge you extra if you want jalapenos on the side.

I don’t hate-cha. Per Desigirl’s review, yes, inexpensive, huge, good quality slice of cheese pizza. Best ever? Eehhh, noooo. Frank’s is better and serves beer, but he’s so much further from the office. Service is ok. Really an average place for me. I have no idea what the pasta is like or any of the pizzas with toppings. But trust me when I tell you that ginormous slice of cheese pie is filling and tasty. If you want pizza, you head to the left of the restaurant and tell the guys what kind. They’ll put it on a paper plate and cover with a brown bag. Carry that over to the register, pay your dues, and you’re done! Only thing I don’t really like is you have to unwrap your pizza to sprinkle with the parmesan and crushed red pepper which is inconspicuously located at the entrance and not in individual packets. It was my third visit before I even realized that stuff was there. Although, I tend to rush when I venture through the tunnels for lunch so that could be why it took that long for me to notice.

The owner gave me a price on the entrée alone that I could use each time I come in; as I told him that I don’t need the drink or the salad. I said thank you and was grateful for this because I am a college student. The last two times I’ve gone in I’ve been given a hard/bad-mannered time about this price he gave me and said could be used. This past Friday, I spoke up and the cashier went to the owner to clarify. The jerk owner did not even have the balls to come out and tell me himself. He rejected the price he agreed on — bad business. I said loudly so he could hear, «I don’t think I’ll be coming here anymore, thank you». I won’t ever come here again. How rude this is to do when you’ve agreed to please a client and fail to carry out. Furthermore, owner does not even have the face to come and apologize to the client. It’s a bad business example to the world. They do not seem afraid to lose clients in this ill economy. :( Your Greed = Your loss

I’m surprised no one has reviewed their lunch! The cheese pizza is hands down the best pizza ever. We walk over from our building all the time to get the most cheesiest cheese pizza I have ever tasted. Their pasta is ok — I’ll get it if I’m craving some carbs… but their cheese pizza is huge, excellent quality, and quite cheap($ 3.25/slice). They use fresh ingredients and have friendly service. Another gem in the downtown tunnels.

Very good breakfast that’s made on the spot by a short-order cook. I’ve only gotten the original breakfast burrito but to be quite honest, I really don’t see why you would get anything else! Service however is inattentive and sometimes has a mind of its own. The food is prepared very quickly but then when you go to check out, the cashier usually takes his or her sweet time. I haven’t run into cold food yet but I have to say when the store only takes cash, you really need to keep the line flowing!

I have been in the past to Pastabilities in the tunnel for lunch a few times in the past and had okay to good experiences. After today, I will not be back. I ordered 2 slices of pizza, one veggie and the other pepperoni and sausage. I had really wanted supreme style, but they did not have any prepared. When I asked the guy just looked down at the pizzas and said«No, just what is here.» Well by looking at it I could tell the pizza had been sitting there a while, but hey, when is pizza ever bad? Here. It was cold. I have never been served cold pizza before. I thought it was put in the oven. I had to wait 2 minutes… so I didn’t think to check. Anyways $ 7.50 for 2 slices and a medium drink later I walked to the building next door that has seating(The seating that was there was filled or dirty tables). I sit down, fix my tea and get out my kindle to discover cold pizza. Shudder. So after choking down a couple of bites of each, neither of which were very favorful. The cheese was hard because of the cold, the brocolli on the veggie was brown colored. So after trying to enjoy my lunch time by reading(obviously not by eating) I walked back by and decided to get a drink refill and speak with someone. I asked the manager if the pizza was always cold. He told me that his servers ask if I want it hot and they put it in the oven. I informed him I was not asked and he literally shrugged his shoulders and turned his back on me. No apology, no I’ll be sure to speak with them, no cookie, no coupon, no nothing! That really made me mad. Therefore, Pastabilities, you lost me as a customer and everyone else at my office that I speak to.

I agree with the other posts, Pastabilities has THEBEST breakfast downtown! Great prices with generous serving sizes! While I think their breakfast burritos are great, I prefer their breakfast platter — 2 eggs, ham, and grits or a huge side of their hash browns, and a slice of toast — for less than $ 4! And other days I’ll get their omelette — 2 eggs, ham, and cheese. And it’s all made fresh, right in front of you when you order. This place is awesome.

The most important burrito of the day? The breakfast burrito. The Original burrito at Pastabilities will soon be doctor recommended. The chef surgically assembles the burrito on a flattop grill will fresh eggs, cheese, home fries, sausage/bacon, and a toasted tortilla. It also comes with scrumptious salsa that I would drink by the gallon. At $ 2.44, this sleeper is like a fantasy-football-draft-day-steal. The $ 4.00 credit card minimum is a bust.

Best breakfast burrito in Houston, so this is a breakfast review. I have tested breakfast tacos all over downtown and this is the BEST. The short order cook makes the egg fresh right there in front of you, there is no warmed green eggs out of a bucket. That is the biggest reason I rank them as the best for breakfast. The eggs are not sitting around waiting for you to come. They make everything for breakfast you can ask for and its all made in front of you fresh.
