Came here for the first time after hearing a friend rave about it. It did not disappoint! The Bön Bo Hue was on point, very rich broth. Wife had the Phở Tai and it was also really good. The soup had a more marrowy flavor than compared to let’s say Phở Saigon. The only downside about this place is that it doesn’t serve anything else. I always like to pair phở with some spring/egg rolls!

This place is inside Hong Kong City Mall, which is a huge Chinese/Vietnamese market in Chinatown. A bowl of Phở here looks quite messy, but it is still Phở and it is acceptable. I would go to Phở Binh if I have more time to drive.

Tasty soup. The Phở is very stable in taste. The meat is not much but is done right, not over or under cooked. I always like this place even though it’s not very convenient for me to go to. It is inside HongKong 4 market, so you need to park and walk a little bit inside the mall.

I used to come here every Sunday when I was little with my mom. Since I haven’t been there in a year or two. A lot has changed, there’s no type of flavor in the broth it taste effortless. I got food poisoning here from the bo viens it was mushy & had a weird after taste. The vegetables that come out on the side wasn’t rinsed very well, it had certain dirt on the mint leaves. But I’m never coming back here again even its my last choice for phở.

5 stars for excelling at their food and service. Got the special phở which has all the meat cuts. Excellent, flavorful broth and clear broth at that which is essential to a well crafted bowl. Highly recommend.

It takes a lot to perfect a bowl of Phở and this place does it! I have been eating at the same phở place since I was a child and since my go-to place is now closed on Sundays, I came over to Phở Danh as a recommendation from a family member. I ordered the beef flank phở XL(What’s the point of a smaller portion?). Their broth is SO savory, portions are exactly what you’d expect or more. This place is amazing! If it wasn’t for my sentimental attachment to my 1st phở place, i’d say this place has the best phở I have ever had! I wish they’d whip up some appetizers like spring rolls or Vietnamese egg rolls, that would make me completely come here every time. Their staff is super friendly and very attentive. Unless they’re overly crowded, you should not have a problem finding a seat right away. They serve a great Ice Tea(Jasmine I believe) and great pricing for the quality they serve!

If you love phở, Houston is a great place to be. In fact, there are so many excellent options to choose from, it can be tough to pick a spot. Today, I wanted to try someplace I hadn’t been before, and I am very pleased with my decision to come here. First– finding the place. The reviews I read described it as being in «the back» of the mall. I think it is better described as the«right side.» If you enter in the main entrance in the front, head to the right, and when you reach the end, take a left and it is there on the right. What sets this apart from other phở restaurants in town? First thing that got me was the portion size. I ordered the large(the menu also features an «extra large»), and it was *loaded* with meat. I had planned to head to the crêpe shop across the hall afterwords, but I was stuffed– which is a good thing! I am used to leaving phở shops a little hungry. Now, an hour and a half later, I’m still full. Second thing, speed of service. A lot of really good, popular Vietnamese eateries in town are notorious for slow service. Not so with this place. They had it right out. I was eating probably within two minutes of sitting down. Most important thing– the quality of the food. I got there towards the end of the day, so I was a little worried everything wouldn’t be quite fresh anymore. Nothing to fear. The big plate of sprouts and greens was crispy and colorful. The broth was deep, dark, and rich; the surface sparkling just a little from the natural oils. The herbal notes were very subtle– just a hint of anise, not a sensory overload. The meat was savory and a nice texture. Noodles were good. The iced coffee was good, and they had a ton of other tempting drinks to choose from. Price was reasonable. And it was convenient being there in the mall as I had some groceries to stock up on while I was there. Overall, great experience. I will most definitely return.

The interior leaves something to be desired… no effort made in fact. My Mom’s phở broth was cold. I tried to order phở with veggies but it’s not an option. How about phở with tofu? Also not an option. The worst part is that we saw a roach… my Mom stepped on it and killed it. I get it. Places have roaches… but that pretty much grossed me out.

I came to grab a quick lunch. I ordered brisket phở and it came out quickly. Restaurant was clean and phở was pretty good. When you’re done instead of asking for a check you just go to the front cashier and pay. That was different but overall I was satisfied. I was little disappointed since they didn’t have fried egg rolls on their menu.

GOODPHO! There are so many Phở restaurants in Houston. How to choose? I did a Unilocal search for«phở» in Houston and the search returned over 500 restaurants. Luckily I have Vietnamese inlaws who have lived in southwest Houston for over 25 years. Their current«go-to» place for Phở is Phở Danh 2. I trust the inlaws, and the phở is pretty darn good. Generous portions, flavorful broth, all the standard meat combinations, and fresh vegetables. I was able to peek into the kitchen and it looked fairly clean and organized.

Average phở– nothing special. Broth had a little msg in it yet I still felt like it was bland so I had to put a lot of hoisen sauce. Came out to be $ 7 for a small with meatballs and no drink. That’s compared to north side and down south phở is much cheaper at many places. No thanks

Perhaps the best Phở I’ve ever had. Other places might have large portions but lacked quality or vice versa. This is the only place I’m aware of that maintains both consistently every visit. Bright lighting and many seats to choose from. It’s located inside the Hong Kong City Mall so parking on the weekends is a nightmare. Truth be told, it’s worth it!

By far my favorite phở place in Houston. I appreciate the large portions of meat and noodles no matter if you order a small or a large, and I love that they don’t use as much msg as other places. I hardly ever eat phở if it’s not here, and when I do, it’s always a let down because it’s never as good as this place. All the phở and hu tieu dishes are yum! Love this place!

I had a Phở Craving and convinced my coworkers to go with me. We had to do some serious wandering around the massive complex before we found it in the back right corner. Service is fast, the broth is good, and there does not seem to be a credit minimum. We went on a Thursday and there was plenty of seating.

Me and a good friend of mine Mr. Bui come here for lunch atleast once every month. If you are a fan of Phở this is one place that makes the best Phở in the city. They have the best broth, and best mixed meat phở. if you are not creeped out by the cleanliness and indifferent service then you will love this place. Ofcourse if you want toe treated like a royal, you will hate this place. Quickly getting to the Pros and Cons Pros 1.Tasty(They pretty much ace at this) 2.Authentic 3.Variety of choices 4.Quick service Cons 1.Cleanliness 2.No flat noodle 3.location(back of hong kong mall)

What the heck phở danh? U used to be my favorite phở place in houston, but my last 2 visits left me disappointed and confused about our relationship. First, you were trying to mop the floor when I came in. I sat down where all the other customers were sitting, on the dry half… then you made me get up to move to the just-mopped and very-wet side, even though I asked to stay where I was. On top of that, it was super smelly… already not so happy about my visit. I understand that you want to clean… but everyone else was still eating and sitting on the dry side… anyway… Then, I got really diseased-looking basil… with tons of black spots. grossest basil I’ve ever seen at a phở place. and the brisket wasn’t like usual. it was more than half fat… Then the next visit, you messed up my order… I wanted more meatballs and less brisket. You gave me 18 slices of brisket(WHOCANEATTHATMUCH?!) and 6 pieces of meatballs… and you tried to bring me even more brisket when I told you about the problem… um…I don’t know how that could have been a miscommunication since I said it really clearly and showed you what I wanted more of and less of. I guess this is helpful that I crave going to your place less cause it’s so far from me… I don’t even know if I want to go back anymore… The plus sides are that you serve culantro(not cilantro) and your meatballs are extra good… but still… if it wasn’t for previous great visits, I’d give you a 2 star review

No one should eat here. The employee spilled a tray of 8+ drinks on me and my purse on the inside and out. I got upset and when I went to pay, the cashier was saying inappropriate things about me to other employees in vietnamese like I couldn’t understand. It was extremely rude. When I argued that it was not right and we shouldn’t have to pay, she just kept talking in vietnamese and joking about it to other employees while I was standing there, apologizing insincerely. They damaged my designer handbag and did nothing to accommodate the inconvenience they caused me by spilling drinks all over me and my purse. Like really, how incompetent are your employees that you look the other way and proceed to talk badly of your customers in vietnamese when you are obviously too ignorant to see that they can understand what you’re saying? It was just extremely terrible service and it really shows that the business does not care whatsoever about their customers.

This place is deep in Hong Kong Mall in Chinatown(where you enter, it’s far to the right). I have been here a few times so decided to write a review. Phở Danh is probably one of the best phở places in Houston. It is usually crowded and sometimes there is a line. That generally is a good sign. There are a lot of tables to accommodate a lot of people. Of course my typical favorite is Phở Dac biet and Phở Bo Vien. Their red bean drink/dessert is good and so is their ice coffee(wished they gave me more, it was a little on the low side). But the broth of the phở you can tell is the real deal. It was fresh and not greasy/salty. The meats were sliced thin and they gave you a great portion. If you want something other than Phở, then you might want to try another phở restaurant, they do not serve things like Cha Gio or Goi Cuon. Service was polite, but a little slow. We got our phở quickly. but the drinks took a while. Besides that a great place to go if you are in the mood for great phở.
