Their fruit stuff is delicious! But their milk tea? Bleh. Is their even tea in it? It doesn’t taste like what milk tea should taste like. If anything, it’s like a latte made from really really weak coffee with too much sugar. I’ll be back for the strawberry milkshake, but never again the milk tea.

One of the original tapioca places in Houston, I never had a problem visiting here.

My friends usually took me here when they wanted some milk tea after dinners. Otherwise, I would not come here by myself since I am not a big fan of smoothies and tea. Their prices are reasonable.

Even though they have went thru several management changes, their dessert options are still yummy. Yes it was my first time but I am glad I finally tried it. Who would have ever thought to serve fruits with ice? Yum!

Star has had it’s ups and downs over the years but I would say they are the original bubble tea place but you would say pearls here. Service is usually quick but can be curt. Their shaved ice is pretty good, but the only thing I get here is their milk tea– the best in Houston. Not too creamy so you can taste the tea. Boba is good here but I almost always get their pudding.

It’s deep in Chinatown, Houston and if you aren’t scared of navigating your car through a slew of crazy Honda/Mercedes drivers then go for it! I’ve been here many times for the last 8 years or so… its just your basic asian tapioca pearl drink spot. I usually get a strawberry shake w/tapioca pearls for about $ 2.50. Coffee drinks served chilled here are also refreshing. Good for a random stop after dinner if you’re ever close by.
