Pho Hien Long

Found this place on the drive home, stranded like an island waiting to be discovered.
No one will find this unless you are looking for it, and my Phở-​Fu is strong that night. Tons of bad omens upon entering. Mis matched furniture — Hastily thrown together from restaurant auctions. No Customers — Lots of possibilities including crappy food?
Menu is simple (picture), ordering is easy. And the phở is pretty awesome, broth is clear with a slight tangerine tint. Meat is high quality and it does not contain lots of MSG. With so few items on the menu, all phở, so you cant possibly lose?
On a rainy day this is all one needs, a small simple restaurant where you can just relax and enjoy a home style meal. Unless you get seated in the disco lounge looking red leather booth.

I’ve given this place a second chance because my first visit was around their grand opening and I wanted them to work out the kinks before going back again. The difference at this phở restaurant is that they provide Kobe beef which is really Wagyu for $ 24.95 a bowl and they also have marinated filet mignon, along with veal and ox tails. The concept sounds great but the problem I had originally was that they are very skimpy on their meat and their broth was not flavorful. It actually doesn’t even smell or taste like phở. I have instant phở in a package that tastes better than their broth. Both times I still had at least a cup of noodles left in my bowl. The first time I probably only had about six piece of beef this time it was a little more but still not by very much.
My other big problem which I noticed was when I went today was that they charge almost double the price that everybody else does. I eat phở or some type of noodle soup almost every morning and I will walk out paying around $ 8 including a drink. When I went to the counter to pay for my food my bill was nearly $ 15! I didn’t get any veal, fliet mignon, or wagyu beef, just regular beef with an iced tea.
Hands down the best place for phở will always be Phở Binh for me and if you are in the area then be sure to visit the original one in the trailer off of Beamer. The only phở restaurant that has been around longer than anybody else has and its still the same owners.

Tried the Phở here and it was good. Flavorful broth and the raw beef was fresh. The prices are about the same as other restaurants. They also sell smoothies/​tapioca drinks. Definitely a one stop shop.
