First time here and I wasn’t disappointed. I got the beef phở with meatballs and brisket. Broth and brisket were really good. The broth was very fresh and tasted wonderful. Brisket was extremely tender and full of flavor and the noodles were perfectly cooked. My only complaint was that I wanted more noodles than came with the dish. Be sure to order extra if your like them as much as I do. Other than that I was very pleased with my visit and will be sure add this to my rotation. The staff was very welcoming and service was quick. Environment was very quiet at 1:30 on a Wednesday.

The food is very good. I was little skeptical after seeing the rating in Unilocal, but found out food quality is really good. They are always busy during lunch time. It would be great if they can improve their service time.

It’s not bad, yet not great. I’ve had better phở at other places. This one was kinda bland, and needed more spices I think.

I have been curious about this place since it is around the corner from my job, but one day that I was sick and thought i’d be good to eat Phở I looked them up here and ordered the following: H1– regular Sandwich combo B4– regular phở with chicken, shrimp, and pork. The sandwich was amazing! I absolutely loved it! Perfect mix of flavors Phở was delicious, simple, and tasty however I did not like the pork or the chicken so I just removed them from my phở. The prices on the Menu on Unilocal are not correct, I thought I’d be spending about $ 8 but once I arrived I spent $ 14! I will come back however I will take advantage of the lunch specials next time.

It took more than 30 minutes to wait for my take out. It’s ridiculously busy and the staff cannot handle it.

I go there quite often as the soup is good and the location is convenient. I’ve always heard positive things and would recommend it.

This place is great! Pay no attention to the complainers. I eat here almost every week as my Phở Friday tradition, and I’ve never been disappointed. Healthy portions, daily specials, and good value for your money. The restaurant is clean, with friendly and courteous staff. One of my favs.

We travel from Chicago to Houston for business and this little gem by the airport is always our stop for lunch. Great food!

Great Bahn Mi sandwiches! I get the Chargrilled Pork. Also they have some reasonable prices on lunch specials. Food comes out at a fair pace, even when busy. However it only has around 20 tables and a nice semi-private area to eat. All-in-all a good find! Cheers!

Service was friendly and super fast. I ordered the beef phở and it was on my table less than ten minutes after I walked in. Yes water is $.50. No big deal. The phở was also very good but maybe too much noodles.

Not the greatest phở in town but pretty good. The meat is tender the broth isn’t too salty and the noodle are yummy! The place is dingy and loud but overall good for phở.

I’ve came here twice for lunch as it is close to my job. I came during Chinese New Year and the service was okay they weren’t that busy. I had the bbq pork banh mi which was okay. I’ve definitely had better, they don’t put pâté or butter in their sandwiches like most traditional banh mis. If they did I sure didn’t taste or see it. Another occasion I had their special fried rice which was pretty good compared to other restaurants around. I definitely think this spot is over priced for the quality of food they serve and considering it’s in the greenspoint location. I’ve definitely had better elsewhere.

I work right around the corner and for the last year I used to get an order of shrimp spring rolls and orange chicken at least once a week. However, be prepared for the service to be sssslllllllooooooowwwwww. They will take forever to get to take your drink order, forget to bring your drinks, mess your food up, and then take 20 minutes to check you out. After a while of getting frustrated with their dining-in service, I used to just get my stuff to-go and give them an extra 15 minutes past the time they say it will be done. And when you place a to-go order be prepared for them to answer the phone with a simple«hello», ask you what you want, say how long until it’s ready, and then hang up on you. They don’t ask your name and have no customer service skills at all. The food though is great. I cannot find another Vietnamese restaurant with spring rolls like theirs. The peanut sauce is the best. EVER. I have never heard anyone complain about the flavor of the food. I bet you’re wondering why I keep talking about this place in past-tense. They were on the news recently for a health inspection. They were told to «get rid of the rodents openly running around the kitchen.» I can never eat a spring roll or piece of orange chicken there again because I will wonder if I’m actually eating chicken. The image in my mind of them boxing my food up, stopping to swat a rodent away, and then finish boxing my food up makes me gag. I could have continued to deal with the crappy customer service had I not known about the rodents openly running around the kitchen. If you insist on eating here make sure to check your food for fur and tails.

This is a busy lunch spot! Come as soon as they open, if you come past 11:30, it’ll be pretty full. I work literally 5mins away so I come here often for Vietnamese food. I only give it 3 stars since I’m mutual about this place and on this side of town there isn’t many Vietnamese restaurants to choose from. Their famous rock n roll beef is delish. However, I think they use extremely too much oil when cooking their dishes, pls cut down on that! The phở is okay, I wasn’t crazy about the broth. They charge for bottle water and don’t offer tap, which makes me a little worried, is the water dirty? Also, don’t be turned off by the incense smell when you walk in the entry way, the actual restaurant doesn’t smell like that entirely.

Their sandwiches are the best and the chicken phở is the worst! But a good place for lunch given other Greenspoint options. One has to stay on top of the service to ensure you get in and out fast. Left to themselves, it’s kinda slow.

Decided to make an account just to prevent people from suffering what we did. Service is terrible. Takes them forever to get anything done. Including the day’s specials. And phở. And pretty much everything. Because I work right around the corner, I was convinced not once, but twice to go to this ridiculous restaurant. In a party of 4, three people got their phos while the fourth person was waiting on a special of the day(iirc it was a rice dish… should not take too long). Although our phở orders took around 20 mins to get to us, the fourth person’s dish was nowhere to be seen. Since the noodles were starting to get soggy, we began eating, and half-way through our meal, the fourth dish arrived. Not to mention that they do not have free water. The second time we went there, a coworker who loves limes asked for extra limes for her phở. They gave her 2 small wedges after 5 minutes of waiting. When it arrived, I asked for some too, and she asked for more. Again, took them around 5 mins to bring us 2 more small wedges. Every time we asked for way more, and they would take 5 mins to bring us, again, 2 small, juiceless wedges. In the end, we ended up just eating the phở without being satisfied with our limes, and yet when paying for the meal, they slyly, without ever mentioning anything to us, charged us 1.50. When my coworker asked what that was about, they said they were charging us for the limes. Oh, and all of this while an old lady in the back leered at us. All of this would still be redeemable if the food was cheap and/or delicious. But it’s not. Small portions, hidden extra charges everywhere, and the taste… not even mediocre. if tl;dr, suffice to say: STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACE. The burger king or mcdonalds two blocks from this place is way better in comparison.

This place is a huge disappointment and an embarrassment to Phở. First of all, who charges for water? I asked«Can I just have tap water please?» and the waitress replies«Umm hehe sorry we no have tap water». She suggest me to get tea instead and when I said no she tells me to let her know when I change my mind. Desperate for that $ 1.50. Then came the Phở. The noodles were lumped all together like a rock and the soup tasted weird. It had a slight sour taste to it. I’m sure it wasn’t slow cooked or anything. The service was horrible. There was only two waitress taking care of the entire restaurant. Our waitress looked like she was freaking out going everywhere. I literally had to yell to get one of their attention. Also, when the food arrived, only two out of three showed up. Stay away from this place. It’s not worth trying. You are better off sucking on Beef Bouillon cubes and you’ll probably intake half the MSG than here.

When I checked in, I won the award for Maverick. I was the badge for I don’t give a d@mn about negative reviews or places my friends have never been. Bad omen… So first off, they don’t have water free of charge like every other restaurant in America does. You’ll have to pay $.50 for bottled water. Is their tap water not clean? What’s going on? And from some of the earlier reviews, they used to charge $ 1.50! But onto my meal, as I ordered what the restaurant was named for, as it’s H1 on the menu — clear rice noodles in a homemade chicken broth with chicken, pork, and shrimp. The portions were really small, as the meat had two rationed pieces each. Not impressed. The soup was nothing spectacular either, as I’ve had Phở Binh’s chicken broth before and the richness/flavor was not there. I was hungry afterwards. One thing I noticed about this place is that mainly non-Asians frequent this place. Eventually a group of Asian men sat down as I was about to leave. So this really tells you something, as there are plenty of other Vietnamese restaurants in Greenspoint/Veterans Memorial area that are packed with the locals rather than your white collar lunch crowd. I’ll stay away from this place, as the non-free water really rubbed me the wrong way.

The chicken phở is okay, the beef phở’s have a very distinct flavor, like they flavor the broth with extra star anise or nutmeg or something. Anywho, the service is pretty abrupt and demanding, but I will say that is part of their culture and they haven’t adjusted to the American service industry ways yet.(still doesn’t make trying to order food very pleasant) I do wish they brought out fresh cilantro — it’s just basil, peppers, and bean sprouts. At least when I requested it they did bring it out.
