This this place gets pretty good lunchtime rush on the weekdays. I usually try to come after 1PM when it slows down little bit. I have ordered two different types of sandwiches here. The first time I went I ordered a roast beef and the second Philly cheesesteak. I didn’t care much for the roast beef sandwich with the chili cheese steak was pretty delicious. They also have pizza which I have not tried. It’s in the shady part of town so be careful when you’re out here. Also, it’s not the cleanest place so beware. Service is good..

This place has the best Philly Cheesesteak I’ve ever had. Ive tried others but I keep coming back to Rockys cause they are hands down the best. The soft bread/bun is sooo good. I like it with bell peppers only, nothing else but salt and pepper and I’m in cheesesteak heaven. Highly recommended!!!

The best homemade Philly Cheesesteak that I have ever had. I’ve never been to the east coast so I can only compare to what I have had & this was the 2nd best cheesesteak I have ever had(the best being from Jersey Mikes’ Subs.) I also had the works pizza & it was very delicious, very greasy but good nonetheless.

I’ve been eating here my ENTIRE life. Paul and his wife have that philly down to an art. And the price cant be beat! I live over an hour away and love to get it when I can. Just add a little salt and pepper when it comes out and it’s PERFECT!

Been coming here for years. Employees and menu rarely change. Whatever they’re doing is working. Clean, efficient place with great food and loyal customers. Why do I like it? Soft bread cheesesteaks, crispy crusty pizza, reasonably priced, rock star food. That pretty much sums it up. Come to here…

It’s the best little cheesesteak shop in Houston. Sorry to say I’ve never had their subs or pizza. I can’t stop myself from ordering a cheesesteak. Lately, I’ve been getting the hot pepper cheese steak. It’s got a little extra kick to it.

The only place I go for a great homemade Philly Cheesesteak Sub. That makes your mouth water… just thinking about it. Great with chips too. Oh… Been coming here for the past 25+ years!

Old lady in the kitchen is here everyday, makes every sandwich! It’s as old school as it comes in these parts. The foods simple the ingredients fresh and the service consistent. Most days your smart to go with the special. It’s a good way to try the menu Enjoy —

This place is good, but it’s not«get there 15 minutes before it opens and stand in a huge line» good. I ordered pizza because a lot of people on here said it was better than their hoagies. Sorry but the pizza is only descent, I’ve had better. Might go back to try the Philly cheesesteak. The place is very clean, friendly, and the prices are great for lunch, just be prepared to wait in line.

After asking my boss about good places around here with Pizza, he immediately mentioned Rocky’s. I looked them up on here and it only made me hungrier! My boss and I got there and as we ordered our pizza’s and the lady at the counter did mention that there was a 30 minute wait which I didn’t mind because they did warn us(plus I was not looking forward going back to work) as we waited. When number 66 was called I mentally«skedaddled» with joy. Saw my Pepperoni, sausage, Jalapeño pizza and I knew it was ON!!! I took a bite and I was hooked, so much cheese, so much food, so much deliciousness! It was only the 12 inch and I promise after almost half way down my pizza, I wanted to unbutton my khakis. It was not the fanciest of all places but good enough to eat, I look forward to come here and try their famous cheesesteaks!

Don’t let the bars on the doors scare you… tasty, tasty philly cheese steaks inside for those who dare to enter.

My absolute favorite place in the area! While the place itself is not the fanciest, the food is phenomenal. Try the cheese steak hoagie with extra cheese and extra spices with the raw onions — it’s a party in your mouth! Been coming here since the ‘80s.

Great pizza here, granted my gf was apprehensive about going inside. It might be the bars on the window or the abandoned building next door that use to be a krogers. But yeah they have great pizza and sandwiches. BESAFE!

I’m not going to get fancy here and over analyze this place or any place. It was simply amazing. Delish. Worth not getting my wheat bread. Well worth cheating my meal plan. I had the Italian and it was amazing. It reminds me of a sub shop back home, in DC. Omg. I’m licking my chops like a cat who’s just had salmon, it’s that good. So good I ate both halves! I need a nap. The special was The Italian with chips and a soda but I just got the sub. I did not get cheese or mayo on my Italian though it comes with provolone. I added pickles. It was nothing short of amazing. I will never buy subway again. I should know better. I never make it out of there for less than five dollars. Today I paid 4.60. Kind of feeling like a boss. Side note: I understand healthy meal choices and all those kinds of things. But this is some historical, American, back in the day, remember when, loves you back kind of eating. The Greek yogurt is for tomorrow!

One of the reasons I joined Unilocal was for places like this. Little restaurants with delicious food that you’ve probably driven past a thousand times without realizing what you’re missing. This place has the best cheesesteaks I’ve had in Houston, and they get them to you with all kinds of variations. Lettuce and tomato, that’s cool. Want mushrooms and pepperoni? Marinara? They have that too, and they serve it up hot and fresh off the grill in the back for a good price and you’ll walk out of the place with a sandwich in your hand that’s way better than those other places that start with an S or a Q, I promise you that. Give these guys a try next time you’re in the area. Get a pepperoni cheesesteak with grilled onions, you won’t be disappointed by the taste or the price.

In Baton Rouge, LA where I come from the best pizza is Pastime Lounge. I never thought I would say this but the pizza here at Rocky’s is better! Okay, the service is slow and not the friendliest but the line is out of the door at lunch time. I’ll cut them slack for that because the pizza is delicious. I had a 12″ topped with pepperoni, onions and jalapenos. Try when you travel through W Greens Road.

Not a fan of the subs. The pizzas, however, are totally worth it! You can order by individual slice or get a whole pizza. Starting at just a buck twenty for a cheese slice, which, by the way, is pretty sizable(please refer to photo), this is a bargain deal! The pepperoni pizza is loaded with pepperoni — layers of it overlapping each other. They don’t stinge on the toppings. So.Worth.It. Homemade and fresh. YUMMERS. (Ok but sometimes I question the cleanliness of the kitchen. Sometimes I walk in and the place smells really bad… and my stomach will hurt after eating my pizzas. Not always, but like half the time. So I wonder.)

I recently started a new job around the corner from here. After I read Chris’s review, I had to check the place out. Stuck between 3 and 4 stars for me. Late 70’s, early 80’s décor. Old carpet, a counter top bar that goes largely unused cause everyone has to line up there to order at the register. Low top tables scattered. The few times I have been here, it is always packed. Which does not surprise me one bit, considering the other options in the area. A menu of sandwiches, cheese steak, and pizzas. I am not a big cheese steak guy, but the Italian Sausage hoagie is good. The regular Italian hoagie is average, with generic salami, ham, and other meats that can be bought most anywhere. Huge stomboli’s that look good, but have yet to try them. Order at the register. It is crowded at peak lunch times, so you might not be able to get a seat. Approachable service, but they are always in a rush, with good reason. I will continue to support this place, because it is enjoyable for a quick lunch, and the price is right. Though nothing out of the ordinary.

This is my go to place when I can’t decide if I want pizza or a cheese steak sandwich. The bread is always soft, the cheese in the right amount always gooey as well as the right amount of sauce on the pizza and acidity. Unlike a certain pizza place on West Grey where I recently visited this place has NEVER burnt my pizza crust. Peter who is the owner will almost do anything like any regular owner should do in accommodating your needs whether you are by yourself or have a larger party of 30 people. When I used to bring my car club people here we would literally take over ¾ of the restaurant and have our food out in a very reasonable time. If we needed more time he and his wife would make sure that we weren’t rushed to leave and would stay open for about another hour. Parking is a little spooky because you are not in such a good neighborhood hence the bars all over the store fronts but parking is very ample even since it shares spaces with other establishments. I can only imagine around lunch time you would have a hard time just like any regular food business at lunch time and this place does pack them in around noon. Sodas are fountain style so you do not have to worry about those dreaded $ 1 + for a canned soda. The only con that I can think about here is he seems to close early on Saturdays(about 5?) and is closed on Sundays so you’ll pretty much have to catch him on a weekday if you want the leisure time. Also they do not sell alcohol anymore for a reason I understand. The alcohol side of the business could not support the $ 10,000 alcohol license that T.A.B.C(a$$ 4@|35) want. That doesn’t stop me, I still support the«little» man business. A clip of an incident inside Rocky’s. Tell me what you feel about the surprise ending. :D
