Pretty good rotisserie chicken. Ceviche was ok. Avocado sides and rice makes it a pretty balanced meal.

This place is true to its name. I understand its a hybrid. But I’m never coming back again. The chicha morada was watered down. The aji taste just like JALAPEÑOS and has no HACATAY which is in the aji Verde for the rotisserie chicken. The chicken has no flavor and to top it all it was cold. The service wasn’t great. And this is coming from a Peruvian native. I’m never coming back!

I like the minimalist menu. Food is tasty — especially the ceviche and roast chicken. Rice and beans were good. Wasn’t a big fan of having fried hot dog in the french fries or the salad drenched in mayonnaisey dressing, though they were generous with the avocado. Plantains were good. It’s all a bit pricey, and service is so so.

Hidden gem for a casual dinner in the loop!!! My go to is the gordo combo which can easily feed 3 people for under $ 30. The pisco sours are amazing as well.

LOVE this place. I have come in for sit down and for take away. I always order the mini combo(¼ chicken with 2 sides) and have found the portion and price are both exceptional! My husband always orders the lomo saltado and the dish never dissapoints! I’m sorry to bring in my nationality here, but the rice on the lomo saltado dish is exceptional – this Asian thinks so! Very flavorful and a touch sticky/chewy. I always order the avocado salad as one of my sides. Can say enough about the freshness and the dressing – very flavorful! Also, the chicken is always juicy. All in all, for the portion and price, you just can’t beat it!

I really love how great the food is here. I have had their roasted chicken dishes, tacquitos, and salads. They are all fresh and delicious! The service is consistent, fast, and accurate. I come here at least once a week. Love it!

This place is a little jewel hidden in Rice Military. Small menu and nothing fancy but the food is good. They also have a full bar with traditional Peruvian drinks and beer. The prices are very reasonable as well so if you’re ever in the area definitely give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Came back here once more over the weekend after a great experience a year ago. Food was still as tasty as I remembered. However, the service was by far the worst service I have had at a restaurant. Good grief, McDonald’s has better customer service than this place. The waitress behavior and body language was just appalling. Rolling her eyes when I asked questions about the menu and when she took my order. I asked if there was a drinking menu and she smirked and walked away without even making an attempt to provide other options and leaving me mid sentence. It wasn’t until my friend showed up that he asked her in Spanish if they had sangrias that she acknowledged… and rolled her eyes AGAIN! Didn’t bother to bring a glass of water for my other party even after I had told her I was expecting someone; had to ask her again to bring a glass of water… at which she rolled her eyes again!!! While waiting for food noticed that another group of folks walked in and waited a while for the waitress to bring a menu. They got up and grabbed a menu themselves. The place probably only had 3 parties at that time. When people would arrive and state they would be eating in vs take out it was blatantly obvious how bothered she was about people dining in. I would suggest order food to go if you must eat here. Personally this place lost my business.

I still love the food but the service has been in a decline. Tonight’s waitress forgot my order, sneered at my coffee order(and the one I got was cold)…and I’ve been waiting for quite a while now for my check. I think I’ll just walk to the register, pay, leave, and think twice about coming back.

I always overeat when I come here. Great place for a cheat meal & a nice way to switch up from the usual tex-mex flavor! The lomo Saltado is my favorite. Make sure to get lots of the green salsa, it spices up everything deliciously! The spicy fries and the sweet fried plantains are perfect side items. The avocado salad is very refreshing too.

The food was good the chicken was very moist, and as I’ve read in the other reviews it is a tad bland but the sauce goes very well with it. The side were delicious also, we ordered a side of yuca or «cassava» and I loved that they were in thin strips like French fries. I’d definitely comeback again.

first time eating at the restaurant, the food was phenomenal! I was the happiest person after eating there. ordered the ¼ chicken combo with side of plantains and white rice with a side order of black beans. the creamy cilantro salsa added the perfect touch! I will definitely be eating here again! has it’s own parking lot. and the wait staff was great.

This was my first time going to Pollo Bravo on Memorial. I had gone to the one on Hillcroft years ago. My parents and I were highly impressed. We ordered a combo that comes with several sides and it was perfect for a group of four. A whole roasted chicken is served cut up. One also gets sides including fried plantains, a green salad with avocado, pinto beans, rice and French fries with fried weiners(salchipapas.) The chicken was super tender and moist. A green spicy creamy sauce comes with the meal. Service was slow at first and it took a while to get our drinks and menus. But after that, our Venezuelan waitress was very attentive and friendly. There’s another combo that comes with only two sides in case you don’t want to get that much food. And of course, you can get just the chicken and get sides of your choice a la carte.

Now I wouldn’t necessarily describe Pollo Bravo as a date spot but I got some takeout from here for lunch today and it was out of this world. I went with the ¼ chicken combo which comes with two sides and a drink. The Peruvian chicken was well-seasoned and tender and came with some tomatillo dipping sauce. For my sides, I got the fried plantains and I forget the name but it’s basically fries with some sausage sprinkled in. The fried plantains were the best I’ve had! And why not add sausage to fries, I mean it doesn’t hurt! All of this was washed down with an Inca drink. I’ve never had it before but it’s purple and I felt pretty cool sipping on some purple drank. All this will last your for two meals and at about $ 12, it’s a great deal. Their quesadillas and taquitos looked good too so I’ll have to try that out next time. I don’t have Peruvian food every day so this was a nice experience.

I really was hoping for that intensely flavored rotisserie chicken I’ve had at the Peruvian places around DC. The marinade there is so strong and so delicious I’ve been known to spend most of my time eating nothing but chicken skin. And the sauces! Pollo Bravo isn’t quite to that standard. The chicken was tender and well-cooked, but not delicious. The sauce was spicy, but didn’t blow my head off. Sides were fine. Having said that, the service here was incredibly nice and fast. Worth a look.

Girlfriend and I were hungry and tired of the usual Verts and Chipotle so we decided to try out a new spot down the road(im new to houston so this is new for me). Don’t judge this place by its image! We ordered the Quesadillas de Pollo and the Lomo Saltado and were extremely satisfied. The quesadillas were slightly fried giving them a different twist to what most people are used to and came with a ample side salad with avocado. The Lomo was delicious and a great comfort food. It comes with a good amount of broth so if you would like something a little lighter on the sodium ask for less broth, or no broth. I will definitely be coming back again.

This is the 2nd location of Pollo Bravo I have visited, but I enjoyed the food at this location better. I ordered the quesadillas since I wanted something cheesy, warm and gooey. This was about the only thing on the menu that fit the bill. I also ordered their version of the chicha morada. Although a bit pricy for a dinner alone, I still enjoyed the atmosphere here, it’s a small cozy restaurant with decent food. The quesadillas are filled with chicken that is shredded and seasoned well. Tortillas are slightly oily and crispy just to the point to where you can still cut them with a fork. The avocado salad which comes on the side was alright but nothing special, just a few slices of avocado atop sliced tomatoes, cut iceberg lettuce strips and even a few slices of carrots on the bottom. For $ 13 quesadillas, I would like to have seen a side order come with it to justify the price. The chicha morada drink was pretty good and tasted homemade. Both the waitress and cashier were very friendly on the night I visited, which was cool. Restrooms were clean and it is obvious this location was likely a former fast food restaurant that has been remodeled.

This place is an absolute gem. Peruvian food exactly the way it should be. Delicious, cheap and fast. 9 bucks will get you ¼ chicken and two sides. I’ve been here many times before during my trips to houston but this particular instance I had the Spanish rice and the sweet plantains. It he rice was awesome and not your typical run of the mill rice and beans that you’d get at a Peruvian restaurant. The plaintains were sweet and were the right texture. Not too soft not too hard. The green sauce that they give you is delicious but I wish it was a tad bit spicier. Parking is very easy and the place is on memorial.
