I must have gone into every establishment on Hillcroft looking for attire for my friend’s wedding. I was having pitiful luck, as most of the places did not have a good selection of quality saree. I was quite surprised and disappointed to find this to be the case in Houston, of all places! I asked the bride if she had any suggestions and she told me her wedding planner recommends Rani Boutique. Still dubious that I would have any luck, I decided to try one last time and went to Rani. Imagine my delight when I entered and there were so many beautiful, quality sarees! Rani helped me find the perfect saree and jewelry, and she assisted my husband with his kurta. The prices were excellent and the customer service was top-notch. Rani showed me various ways to wear saree and I settled on the mermaid style, which is so glamorous and chic! Raj and Rani are so nice and they really take the time to listen to what you want and go through the shelves of saree to find the perfect one for you! I wish I could wear saree all the time – I would definitely shop at Rani Boutique!

The clothes? Great quality, large variety, and price range to fit any preference(men’s wedding attire ranges from $ 60, maybe a bit less, to $ 200 for the real bling). I bought an awesome men’s Kurta for a killer price of $ 75. The people? Rani and her husband are absolutely awesome. We were there later in the evening and we were the last in the store so we spent an hour after shopping just talking to them, they have such great energy. We purchased a Sari for a friend and Rani’s husband was on FaceTime just showing our friend different options while my sister and I found our own clothes for a wedding. He did it so nonchalantly, it was like he’d done it before — natural and pretty funny to watch the scene facetime. Recommend to anyone who needs classical Indian attire for a wedding or event. A+ experience overall.

I was gifted a lovely ornate saree and needed to have it tailored, so of course I went to Unilocal, read the reviews and decided to go with Rani Boutique… A wise decision if I do say so myself(two pats on the back for ME and the helpful Unilocalers out there). Rani did a good(and professional) job of tailoring the saree, explaining/showing how to wrap it, and also finding the perfect accessories to match it. I recommend this boutique for all of your saree needs… And for some of your non-sorry ones as well… Bad joke. Sorry ;-).

My friend and I visited over the Labor Day weekend so the store was busy. But we felt we were looked after and were treated just as special as if we were the only ones in the store. I tried on lots of different clothing and ended up buying several things. The clothing is high quality and most are hand sewn in-house after buying material in India. I was very impressed with the service we received and I was able to ask questions without feeling ignorant! I would definitely recommend this as an wonderful visit if you’re in the area.

Not a good experience at all! Went today to look at bridal lenghas… I called the day before to set the appt and she said she would call me back the same day and was very cordial. Never got a call back. Went today(I live 2 hrs away so had to coordinate with my group) and she told me nobody does their bridal in the color I requested(mostly red with purple accents) — don’t believe this at all to be uncommon. She TOLD me that if I wasn’t going to commit to buying from her that she wasn’t going to show me any more. Too bad so sad for her. Took my business next door to Silk India — where they showed me 5 star customer service AND I bought my dream lengha at a way more affordable price than what Rani was offering. Would not recommend!

Of all the sari boutiques, in all the towns, in all the world, I walk into Rani’s. It’s unbelievable how helpful and sweet Rani is. I kept hearing horror stories of people getting ripped off and bullied into buying expensive saris along with accessories, and to be honest, I dreaded it. I went to NOLA for an Indian wedding this past weekend, and I literally waited last minute Thursday afternoon to go get a sari. I was actually on my way to another boutique(courtesy of Unilocal), but I randomly stopped and walked into her small shop. As a non-Indian, I was lost and hopeless, but she showed me the sari rack, and luckily, there were already price tags on there, because it calmed my fears of being mercilessly ripped off as an outsider. I got this beautiful burnt orange(GOLONGHORNS!) simple sari with hand-beaded pearls and sequence on the bottom. It was absolutely beautiful! All for about a hundred bucks! She taught me how to put it on and even safety pinned the pleats for me. It was pretty much full service. This is great and all, but you will NOT believe how many compliments I’ve gotten from so many COMPLETESTRANGERS in my life! They actually went out of their way to get to me and say things like, «That sari is beautiful on you! You look like you’ve been wearing a sari your entire life!» I have to be honest. I felt pretty damn cool. This is all courtesy to Rani. There is another Indian wedding this coming July, and would I be caught dead in the same sari? NO! I’m going to Rani’s thank you very much.

I was looking for a bridal lehenga. I heard people pay crazy prices(thousands) but I was hoping to get mine for less than $ 1k. The store is owned by a couple and they were very helpful. Even though I was clearly not Indian, they were friendly and gave me a reasonable price for a gorgeous red lehenga that would have been a lot more in Artesia in LA. They have more selections in the back, you just need to let the nice lady know what you’re looking for.
