YUM. Came here with some coworkers around 11:30am or so last week, just before the place filled up! I noticed a lot of our fellow customers were guys… drawn to the disproportionately large and delicious portions, no doubt. I admit this is only my second pizza experience in Houston(the first was Star Pizza), but Two Guys Pizzeria(don’t know what the heck is up with this Russo’s name business… I was super confused when I was trying to find this place so I could review it), but this is a place I feel like I could confidently take a pizza lover– just maybe not a strict NY-style aficionado. As other reviewers have noted, it’s not reeaaaallly New York style– yeah, you’ve got a thin crust going on, but there’s a bit more of an artisan touch. A bit of extra rustic flakiness to the crust and a tad too much sophistication for its cramped Med-Center locale and bland interior design. I ordered the lunch special(one huge slice, plus a decent salad that comes with feta and olives and red onion). That, plus a drink, came out to 8.66 including tax. The Pizza Margherita is worth every bite. The fountain soda I probably should have skipped anyway, not so much. One more thing: the AC was on overdrive in this place; we sought shelter outside on the picnic tables. Be wary, or bring a jacket!

I had a craving for pizza, so turned to Unilocal to find a place nearby. I came across this pizzeria and decided to check it out. First off, Russo’s is not actually the name of this place. It’s called Two Guys Pizzeria, so if you’re looking for it, that may be confusing. Now, on to the business at hand. The pizza was decent, nothing special. It wasn’t as good as I was expecting, but it was ok. The slice was huge, which was good for the price. When I went, they had the front door propped open and flies were coming in like customers. Hopefully that’s not a regular thing. I took my pizza to go because I wasn’t really feeling socializing with the other ‘customers.’ Not the best pizza in town by far, but ok if you’re close by and hungry.

We love the pizza and the slices are HUGE. They are reasonably priced, but the restaurant is kinda rough and definitely not worth spending a lot of time there.

I got the pepperoni deep dish pizza here and it’s just okay. It’s literally nothing to write home about. I doubt I will come here again. It is not because I did not like the food, It’s simply because I like to be wowed when consuming enormous amounts of calories in a meal. The food took about fifteen minutes to get to us which isn’t bad considering it’s a pizza joint. Other than that, it’s your standard pizza place. Parking was good because it was in a strip mall and it was close to the house which was also a plus.

This pizza place is nothing special. Then restaurant is located in a strip of stores, so parking is not too bad. Inside it tries to be kid friendly. They have a few puzzles. but the high chairs locks are broken. The food took a while to get to the table. My wife’s food came out 15 minutes before mine, so she was almost done with her meal before I got mine. They did apologize though. We had a pasta dish and a calzone… They both were okay, but not the best. The price was kind of high for what you get. I prob will not be coming back to this place, and prob would not recommend this considering all the other restaurants in the surrounding area.

New York Pizza? Has anyone who makes the pizza in this place(or owns the store) actually had NY Pizza? I keep looking for good pizza in Houston and each time I’m disappointed. This pizza has too much dough and too much cheese. Maybe the taste works for other people, but it doesn’t work for me, nor did it work for my dining companion. Another complaint I have is that the website offers coupons that aren’t valid for this location since they don’t make a few of the pizza’s that other places do. I’m not sure why a chain wouldn’t offer the same products at all locations. Needless to say, the pizza was ready when promised and the service was friendly. You just need to decide whether you like this pizza. I don’t, and will not be back.

Nothing incredibly special, but I was pleasantly surprised by the place as it looks a little rough. They have pizza by the slice, and by slice I mean almost the size of a medium domino’s pizza. The place looks a little rough as its shoved in a shopping center in the medical center area. .But its everything you need it to be… I was a little upset they didn’t have regular bacon as a topping, but canadian bacon shall suffice for the day. The price was average at about $ 13 for 2 for lunch. They make the pizza ‘fresh’ in about 8 minutes after you order. They don’t have many options when it comes to drinks, but they have the basics, coke, diet, dr. pepper, iced tea and some others. One piece should be more than enough to fill up the normal person. The pizza is cooked in a coal or wood fired brick oven pizza and comes out with a great, crispy crust. Unfortunately by the time I got to the crust I was nearly full and couldn’t get through it all. If I’m in the area and in need of a quick bite, I’ll be back. Only downfall. its small and the guy behind the counter didn’t quiet understand what we were saying at times and vise versa.

Eat in, order a slice, and come on a good day. Then it is some of the best new york style pizza in houson. Unfortunately, it can otherwise be pretty bad.

This is one of my favorite off campus spots for lunch due to its proximity, great prices, and speed. There are very few places that I can go to off campus that will get me a decently tasting meal that isn’t fast food all in under an hour. I tend to always get the lunch special which is a slice(a HUGE slice, mind you), salad and drink. The salads are always decent with no browning produce, but they only have two dressings – a homemade ranch-type dressing and the typical oil and vinegar. Luckily, the dressing is plenty delicious, so no complaints from me. The slices of pizza are enormous. I’m a pretty big eater so I like to get a full meal in at lunch since my dinners can be unpredictably timed. I’ve had quite a few of their types, but generally either stick with the Hawaiian or something with prosciutto on it(though it isn’t very heavy on the meat). The service is never great. Ever. But they get the job done. The indoor seating is pretty sparse with only a few tables in the place. The awkward part is eating your pizza while everyone watches the crowd like vultures waiting for an empty seat. There are a few tables outside as well which can help with crowd control. I recommend visiting for a decent slice of pizza. It is great to have a place that gives you pizza by the slice so you don’t have to take leftovers and the variety of toppings makes it a great place to take picky eaters.

Wow, geez it was not that great. I order the margharita pizza(how do you spell that?) anyway, it had pesto, which I like pesto but it isnt my idea of margarita. It is supposed to be a thin flacky crust with a spicy tomato sauce and a thin layer of carmalized cheese and piping hot … this was not, it was kinda warm, i didn’t finish it, the counter guy looked like he was about to jump off a ledge or bridge, he barely spoke. I won’t be coming back. think frozen pizza would have been better, i onyl give 1 stars for ridiculously lousy food/service which this was not

Holy crap. When they say GIANT slice, they mean it. I needed a third hand to hold that thing. Unfortunately, I think it was more quantity than quality. I love New York style pizzerias, but this one didn’t do it for me. They’re also set up so that if it’s kinda busy and people are ordering takeout, the takeout folks have to stand awkwardly between tables or near the door.

Great thin crust pizza! They recently renovated the place. It’s much better than before. It’s a really a great place for take out.

I love the Stromboli but the hot wings are inedible. They sometimes deliver – sometimes not… I have been to other ones in the Houston area and liked them more but they do cook their Stromboli fresh and I get it hot!

A nice surprise-we ordered the Heart Healthy Veggie and nearly ate the entire thing. The crust can only be described as crispy, garlicky yumminess. Salads are good too-we got a Greek and it was loaded with feta and all the fixins.

I LOVENYPIZZERIA! I’ve had pizza from almost every place in town including many Italian food restaurants in Houston and I still feel that NY Pizzeria is the best. My favorite location in on Holcombe because I don’t care for the other ones. They are a bit different. The GIANT slices of specialty pizza’s are the best deal at $ 5 a slice and are loaded with all kings of huge chunks of fresh toppings. I can’t believe that the slices don’t even fit onto the huge metal pizza pan they serve it on. The small salads are perfect if you want to try something a little authentic and not your average carrots, lettuce, and tomatoes. We even ordered their gigantic pizza for an event and it fed 20 people at least and all of us were extremely full! Not only can you make your own pizza by choosing what sides you want there, but they also take the hard guess-work out of it for you by giving you the option of trying their recipes for different pizza’s. You have to get the Heart Healthy Veggie or the Pesto Chicken!!! To die for! I’ve never done their delivery service because I prefer to go there and eat outside in front of the restaurant.

Greasy goodness. But is it too greasy??? I had the pepperoni thin crust. I enjoyed the extra seasoning they put on top of their pizzas but honesty it was bit over priced. 16 bucks for a large pizza? I had their wings which were cheap! 10 wings for 5 bucks, but when I got them i figured out why, they were worst than the ones you get frozen at kroger and rebake them. I won’t be back even though it’s so close!

Princess Sherrill is a NCAA hoops fan so March Madness has entangled me. While reading some back issues of Business Week, he chanted support for his team. Once the game was over [UT lost to Duke], I drove us over here for some slices and solace.* Walking up, I noticed that the hours were 11AM to 10PM daily. My watch said 955PM but pressed on since there was a small line inside and the«Open» sign was still lit. Place is your typical pizza joint in a strip center that shares the 24 Hour Fitness gym, CVS, Fred’s Italian Corner, and [shudder] Jimmy Wok’s. We each had a giant cheese slice($ 3.50) and added three more toppings for 50 cents more each. Mine were mushrooms, chicken, and tomatoes. His was red onions, tomatoes, and pepperoni. Took about 10 minutes to bake. Slices were aw-right. The chicken on mine was a bit dried out by the high heat so it tempted me to punt them off so I could just focus on the rest. Princess ate all of his slice without a complaint so it must have been just right. Packed up and went back home. Maybe I’ll be back. * Solace would mean I would employ some of the things I’ve learned through life for such occasions: food, humor, carnal pleasure, and booze. Three out of the four options above were used but I’ll let you figure it out. Let me know if you need a hint.

What the hell happened NY Pizzeria? They obviously thought that olive oil is REALLY good both for the pizza and myself, instead I got a soggy pizza soaked in olive oil. I ordered the Greenwich Village, it came with garlic, olive oil, spinach, tomatoes, olives and feta cheese. It would have been a tasty treat if they let the pizza bread be pizza bread instead of becoming a soggy sponge.

Wow, this place exceeded our expectations. We had a mediterranean salad — lettuce, sundried tomatoes, olives, artichoke hearts, pine nuts and gorgonzola — it was great. The large salad would serve four easily, so the two of us were stuffed. Then our Italian Pie arrived — loads of delicious sausage and ricotta. The pepperoni and sauce were overwhelmed and kind of disappeared. The crust was excellent. Overall our only complaint was that both the salad and pizza had maybe too many toppings. Talk about a minor criticism. I see why there are a bunch of these places, they’re good.

Can I give 10 stars? Oscar fed me for years — and not the college ones. I came here at least once a week in grad school, and I kept it up after I was employed. I come visit when I’m in town! The slices are amazing. For some reason, it’s not the same as getting a whole pie — the slice’s crust is a little crispier, prob bc it hits the oven twice. If you like NY style thin crust pizza, you must eat here. Eat and be happy.
