Great service and quiet enough to hear each other. They had a $ 55 meal deal with filet, lobster tail, salad, side and dessert. Nothing was large but the meal was filling. Wines were not crazy marked up and most were a great value.

We came here for my birthday & it was GREAT! When we got to the table there was a card & confetti on the table! Our waiter wasn’t overly nice but she got the job done. I had the 6 oz filet with blue cheese crust, creamed spinach & strawberry shortcake. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was nice. it was pretty crowded but it wasn’t really loud, we were able to enjoy conversation at the table with little to no distractions.

I’ve been coming here with my family every Christmas Eve for the past 17 years and they never disappoint. Miss the old location, but it was outdated. I have the wedge with blue cheese, calamari, lobster bisque, filet mignon rare plus, creamed spinach, potatos au gratin, cheese cake, irish coffee. Phenomenal. This is a great place for a date as they have quite a romantic atmosphere with the low lighting. I wish they were a bit more strict on their dress code. I don’t mind when people come in with nice jeans, but hoodies? C’mon. There was even a guy who had his hoody halfway on his head. Unacceptable. TIPFORGROUPS: They have a private upstairs area that seats 8 comfortably. You will receive faster service downstairs as they have to go down there anyway for everything. No complaints from me, however, picky clients my become annoyed with service upstairs.

By far the best steaks around. Lobster Macaroni and Cheese was amazing. Service was the perfect balance of attentive but not hovering. We all had the Filets and enjoyed every bite. They have an excellent wine list and fantastic ambiance. This is a little pricy but when you leave you fell like it was worth every cent. They have an excellent crème brûlée for desert. If you want a nice romantic dinner this is the place to go.

I reserved a table for 12 at this location 5 days before for my birthday. I called the the day of my event to let the young lady at the front desk know I will be running a few minutes behind. I asked the receptionist will my guest be seated even though I will be running behind. She said at least half of my guest will have to be there in order for them to be seated. I got to the restaurant right on time just to see 8 of my guest are just sitting near the bar area and that’s what I didn’t want to happen. I spoke with I’m guessing the manager. Older lady dark brown hair, shoulder length bob. Her tone was rude as she told me all my guess have to be there in order to be seated. I informed her that was not what I was told. I was annoyed. After my other guest came we waited 20 minutes for the table to get setup. The food took a while but it was understandable, we had a large party. This seating rule needs to be changed. And why wasn’t the receptionist informed about this rule if it was really in place. Thumbs up to the Chef the sea bass was one of the best I have ever tasted!

I been to Ruth’s steakhouse in NJ and New Orleans their steak are great! But here my steak was bad! The meat is not fresh it’s had funny taste to it, when I mentioned it to the manager she didn’t even offer to take it off the bill! Very disappointed!!! That being said, the service was great! We still leaves 20% tips

Whenever I think of steakhouses these days, Killen’s or Pappas pops into mind. No one really talks about Ruth’s Chris. Thus if I were wanting to go to a steakhouse, I wouldn’t come here. So how did I end up here? A friend of mine had a $ 100 gift card. I had no idea where this place was and realized that it was actually located very close to the Galleria — I just never drove to that part of Westheimer. Parking is valet only, which I wish wasn’t the case but oh well. The ambiance is like any other typical steakhouse — upscale, dim, and romantic — «old money», I would call it. There is also a bar for happy hour which seemed pretty busy that evening. Since we had $ 100 to spare and we wanted to try different things, we ordered a bunch of dishes and shared them. On their menu, they also have a set 3 course menu where you can select a starter, an entrée, 1 side, and a dessert starting at $ 44.95. It can range up to $ 55.95 depending on which exotic entrée you pick. Of course, if you’d like to substitute a side or entrée, it’ll cost you an extra $ 1-$ 2. We decided to share the following dishes: — Shrimp cocktail: 4⁄5(plump, jumbo shrimps = yum with two different sauces to choose from) — Ruth’s chopped salad: 3⁄5(pretty good, I thought there was a bit too much dressing…) — Meiomi: 4⁄5(red wine) — Chilean sea bass: 5⁄5(very light, delish) — Roasted brussel sprouts: 4⁄5(comes with bacon pieces) — Filet: can’t rate since I tried a small piece — Crème brûlée: 5⁄5(perfect!!!) — White chocolate bread pudding with arametto sauce: 5⁄5(I’ve never been a huge bread pudding fan, but this changed my mind. You can pick another sauce besides the amaretto). The service was great as well. Our waiter noticed that we were planning to share and helped split the salad. In addition, she noticed that my friend’s plate was getting cold so she gave him a hot plate for his filet. She was nice and went through the menu with us since we had never visited the restaurant before — very helpful. Would I come back? Definitely. Honestly, there is nothing unique about the dishes, but the execution of them all were great. Thus, if you want something unique and adventurous, this wouldn’t be the place. However, if you want something safe, this is it.

Pretty restaurant, pretty okay experience. We had dinner here with another couple on a Saturday night, making reservations about two weeks in advance(recommend). When we arrived our table was not ready so we went to the bar to have a cocktail. The bartender quickly greeted us, but then ignored us. The fourth person in our party was never able to order a cocktail, despite the rest of us having a drink in hand and our presence at the bar for more than 15 minutes(even seated at the bar). They were not busy, just inattentive as we tried several times to get their attention. Not a spectacular start to the experience, but redeemable. Once seated, we all thought that the ambiance was very calming — dim lighting, white tablecloths, a nice atmosphere for dinner. It was not too loud, but we did have to lean in a few times to speak to the whole table, it would have been nice to have a booth(recommend). Our server took about 5 minutes to come by our table, and once he arrived he was anxious to get away again. The fourth member in our party had to call him back to finally order a drink, and when he returned again about ten minutes later, seemed to just want to be somewhere else. Service throughout dinner continued in this manner, with us having to remind the server to bring items we had ordered(i.e., drinks and the dessert we ordered after we had paid the check!), because he seemed so overwhelmed. When we asked for recommendations he(oddly) told us about the things on the menu he did not like — particularly ALL of the seafood entrees, and even lamented about a seafood dish they no longer offer. Overall the service was not impressive from start to finish — the main reason I gave this restaurant three stars. Unfortunately it overshadowed some of the food highlights, but a few notes below: Appetizers Seared Ahi Tuna: this was our favorite dish of the night, hands down! It was fantastic! Lump Crab Stack: this had huge pieces of fresh crab meat and was good, but lacked salt & seasoning. Entrees Chilean Sea Bass: outstanding — the fish was so delicate, expertly cooked and seasoned lightly but appropriately, bringing out the freshness of the fish. Steaks: none stood out as great, the filets were a definitely medium not medium rare. Southwestern Mac & Cheese: good, standard M&C. Baked Potato: big enough to split, well-cooked & fluffy. Dessert Cheesecake: good, standard. Overall the food was better than we expected, but the service was definitely not as good as we hoped it would be. I would give this restaurant another opportunity with a different waiter, but would be hesitant to recommend to anyone given there are so many exceptional steakhouses in Houston. Cheers!

Service was not bad, could’ve been faster, but that could just be their pacing. Apetizers: Spicy lobster — Not bad, but I felt the sauce detracted from the lobster by being to strongly flavored and too thick. Caesar salad — Average. For a supposedly high-end restaurant, their entrée food presentation was terrible. Their entrée plates are barely big enough to hold the main meals. My wife had the Gran Prixe with the 16 oz ribeye. While the ribeye quality seems good enough, the flavor was just not there. I’ve had better tasting steaks at Outback. I had the Chilean seabass. The filet was cooked well, but the garnishings it came with(diced sweet potatoes) didn’t really go with the presentation. Not to mention again, the plate was small and just made it look bad. The Palms has the best Chilean seabass I’ve had so far. So the verdict is: 1. Taste — Average 2. Presentation — Terrible 3. Service — Average. A bit slow.

Apparently the word has gotten out that Ruth Chris has the best happy hour ever! The bar area was packed for s Monday night. Last night I tried the spicy lobster and it was amazing. I also got the tenderloin salad that was so delicious. The bartenders are attentive and friendly. I’ve also tried the steak sandwich and the burger which are also both the best. If you haven’t hit up their happy hour you’re really missing out!

Our meal here was more and more spectacular, starting with our amazing crab stuffed mushrooms, the tomahawk ribeye, and ending wit the cheesecake. Our waiter was amazing, all of his suggestions were spot on, he even got my husband some scotch not on the menu. The one teeny tiny hitch in our meal was rapidly take care of with utmost respect and hospitality. We can’t wait to return!

Great steak house. The food is outstanding and if steak isn’t your thing, then they have got plenty of other options to choose. One of the most impressive things about this restaurant is their selection of wines. I can’t rave enough about how much I enjoy this restaurant and the dining experience I have every time I visit here. I would recommend this for a very nice romantic night out it even a night out with a crowd.

We came here last night for the friend’s birthday. The interior is traditional and almost masculine. The food and service have been excellent. But the price I think is little higher than I expect. Overall, I was impressed with the atmosphere, service, and food. I guess my recommendation would be very good food but better to take out.

Took a date here for her bday. Steak is high quality. Filet mignon very flavorful n melts in your mouth. When I go to a steak place I love ordering varieties of side dishes. Hands down the best lobster Mac and cheese. Lots of lobster chunks in every bite. Not too cheesy. Just perfect. Great service and complimentary dessert for the bday girl.

Great wine recommendation by Terri, the bread and butter was nothing special. We had filets, which were great cuts but a little rare. They do serve the meat on a 500° plate so it is possible it would have cooked longer on the plate but we were sat just outside the kitchen on a busy Friday night. Lobster was perfect, buttery and smooth even without adding any additional butter or lemon. I will give compliments on the lemon half, it was wrapped in mesh with a ribbon tie to prevent seeds contaminating the food, very nice touch! We had lobster Mac which was well worth the $ 18 for the portion. Mushrooms were delicious and should be required if you order the steak! Mashed potatoes were average but cooked well. Overall a very memorable night with a complimentary birthday card and dessert for my husband on his birthday!

In a word — fantastic. We stopped in for a Christmas Day dinner. Even though they were totally booked in the dining room, we were able to find a table in the bar. We started with drinks. My honey had the Ginger Lemon Drop and he loved it. I had a Manhattan and it was equally good. For an appetizer, we had the calamari which had a slight Asian flare to it, which seems to be a trend lately. It was nicely done — not too heavy on the breading and the sauce was sweet with some peppers as a garnish. It was perfect for 2 – 4 people. We the Harvest Salad and the Ruth’s Chop Salad(mine). I loved the presentation of the Ruth’s Chop Salad — very elegant and unique. The tastes blended throughout the salad were impressive and it is easily the size to be a complete entrée. The staff and their service was top notch!

I decided to have an impromptu date with my lady at Ruth chris this past evening and enticed her with stories of my previous experience with the chain and the amazing sizzling steaks they serve there. Upon arrival we were seated rather quickly in the bar area because, let’s face it, without reservations good luck getting anything on a Saturday night during the holidays here in Houston. Our waiter was this tattooed kinda whimsical guy who asked us for our drinks and quickly fled the table before even getting us dinner ware, introducing himself, or making a proper intro to the establishment. I ordered the Malbec and her the fresh squeezed lemonade. Fifteen minutes later, he returned with a small glass of my wine and nothing else so I reminded him that we hadn’t any silverware and made him aware that we were ready to order. He replied in the manner of a person who’s kinda just catching up to things that her drink would be in its way and fashioned to the bar and again fled the table with a number of empty appetizer plates. Again 15 – 20 minutes goes by and a man in a nice suit shows at my shoulder and asked if he could help with anything, likely because we were begin font to show some frustration. We advised that we hadn’t received her drink and we requested some bread. He obliged and apologized for the delay. He soon returns with two small plates and her«fresh» lemonade. Our waiter promptly shows up with his hands full again of plates and I told him we were ready to order but we hadn’t any full menus(we had reviewed the drink menu and decided on something from what was the happy hour menu). The suited man shows again and offers us menus and I advised that the plate he brought me was dirty. He apologized and went to get another plate and silverware. When he returned he provided us with the silverware and unfortunately another dirty plate. Before I could tell him, he was gone and I decided to just use my napkin to plate my bread. Our waiter returned to take our orders with two small butter bowls. He took our orders and finally brought my lady’s lemonade. The suited man just after that brought another lemonade that was foggy and obviously from the soda fountain. So we had one fresh and one fountain drink. We didn’t see our waiter again until our food had arrived. Once the food arrived, all seemed perfect. That was literally the saving grace for the evening. Had that food not been up to par I would have had a real grievance with Ruth Chris and would have likely lost it. I think we may try again some other time but currently it not on my «go to list» anymore. Thanks for a fantastic steak though.

I recently attended a wine tasting dinner with Daniel L.(thanks Farrah!). I will admit, I have not visited RC since they moved locations a couple years ago. The«new» place is gorgeous! After checking in, I spotted Daniel & we chatted a bit before we were led to a private room for the wine tasting. We were seated at a long table that was beautifully laid out w/plenty of wine glasses by each setting. After a brief introduction we started off with a seared tuna with Aleppo chili with pickled cucumbers which was paired with a light Yealands Estate Sauvignon Blanc. I’m a sucker for seared tuna/pickled cucumber so naturally I loved this dish. The tuna was very fresh & went well with the slightly vinegar-y, very thinly sliced cucumbers. The second course consisted of roasted wild mushrooms with creamy blue cheese polenta served with a pinot noir. Oh mah gah, this dish ended up being my favorite! The polenta was perfectly cooked, creamy with blue cheese. The third course was pork carnitas with fresh avocado on top of a masa cake. The pork was a bit on the dry side & the corn cake had a hard bottom making it hard to cut. The Santa Rita Pehuen Carmenere which was served with the carnitas turned out to be my favorite wine served. Gorgeous, deep red color with smoky, spicy, earthy notes with a green pepper flavor. The main entrée was a filet mignon with peppercorn butter paired with Santa Rita Medalla Cab. The accompaniments were roasted brussels sprouts & green chile mac & cheese. By this time, I will admit I was full but I did take a few bites which I enjoyed. The steak was cooked perfectly & while I usually don’t like butter on my steak so it was a nice surprise when I actually liked it! The roasted brussels sprouts & mac & cheese were very good. It took a lot of self control to not gobble up everything. That would have been very unladylike & I had to save room for dessert which turned out to be Irish whiskey cake with espresso whipped cream with a scoop of butter pecan ice cream. They served The Irishman 12 year old single malt to go with the sugary goodness. Overall, the wines & spirits were paired really well with each course. The service was over the top. A couple of the managers came to the table & introduced themselves to me & Daniel. We had a very nice conversation & they seemed to really be interested if we were enjoying ourselves. What a wonderful evening!

The bar is super lame; bartender not attentive at all and is very slow. Good was average, but our server Terri was really good. This is a place for old people, as it turns out. I mean old. I prefer Morton’s. In any event, I will not be back. Oh yeah, mushrooms were the shining star.

Ruth’s Chris is one of our favorite go-to steakhouses for special occasions, my fiancé and I go here a couple times a year, mainly this Galleria location. First off, the BBQ shrimp appetizer is always delicious, however, since I found the recipe online and can make it for a fraction of the price I rarely ever order it anymore. I’ve also tried the lobster appetizer and really enjoyed the abundance of favors on those light breaded and fried lobster chunks. Ribeye steaks; cooked medium of course. Delicious, tender, juicy, flavorful… Stuffed chicken breast; who orders chicken at a steakhouse, my fiancé that’s who! And boy I’m glad he did. This dish is simply divine! Comes out sizzling hot with the skin crispy, yet the meat is tender and moist. Seasoned perfectly and stuffed with different cheeses blended with herbs. Brussel Spouts: roasted with crispy bacon and sort of honey glaze because the sprouts came out with a hint of sweetness that palettes well with the smoked bacon chunks Mashed Potatoes: creamy and delicious, wonderful palette cleanser between bites Of course, be ready to shell over $ 100 at least for two people… We spent over $ 180 on two appetizers, two entrees, and two side items. Of course we were stuffed and had leftovers boxed for next day lunch. Like I said, special occasion meal, you get what you pay for.

This place was a lil piece of heaven! I ordered the stuffed chicken breast and it was so delicious, it was full of flavor and juicy! I also had the lobster Mac cheese and sweet potato casserole. The Mac and cheese had the perfect ratio of noodles and lobster! They definitely don’t skimp on the lobster. The casserole was perfectly balanced with the level sweetness. The service was great, everyone was friendly and professional. This place has definitely made it to the top of my list of favorite restaurant. Although it can get pricey its worth the coin.

John did a horrible job. Took him 20 minutes to greet our table, he didn’t even introduce himself just asked«what would you like to drink?». But he was very active to the table right next to us? Maybe it’s because we’re black? Idk what this waiter deal was but this is the worst service I’ve everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr had here. Don’t let him wait tables!!! I really enjoy coming here. This is a very nice steakhouse, with great food, and an extensive wine list. Please do not show up with your pockets on flat, because you will need more than a few dollars to really enjoy yourself. The dress code is strictly enforced. No t-shirts, tennis shoes or baseball caps. Located in the Galleria area, Ruth Chris caters to the business class, so please dress to impress. Bring your taste buds, because the food is awesome. The appetizers are great. I recommend the Spicy Lobster or the Seared Ahi Tuna. They are very light but you get just enough to take the edge off. For dinner, you definitely need to order a steak. Of course you do because this is a steakhouse! If you are like me and you don’t eat beef, well guess what? They have something for you too. I recommend the seafood. When all else fails, I always get seafood. So far, I have never been disappointed. Again, try the lobster. It’s delicious! For drinks, you should treat yourself to some wine or try my favorite, the Ruby Red Greyhound. There’s a full bar, so you have whatever you like. The valet parking is complimentary, so please give the fellas a tip for taking care of your ride. I’ll be back real soon. Hope to see you there!

When my boyfriend and I celebrate our anniversary, we make it a point to go somewhere fancy to treat ourselves and this year we chose Ruth’s and this place definitely blew us away and we might make it our go-to anniversary dinner spot. Self-parking on a Friday night wasn’t too bad, it was a little full but not impossible, we ended up finding parking in the back lots but there’s also valet parking as an option. As we entered the restaurant, it had dim lighting, the romantic feel which was perfect for our anniversary. There is a dress code, which gave me a great reason to get dolled up! We were greeted by the hostess and said it would take a few minutes. We made reservations over the phone the day before so we were seated quickly. And once we were walking to our seats, I was secretly hoping to sit in one of those nice booths I saw on the walls, and yes we did score a booth! There was also a nice surprise on our table, there were little hearts and happy anniversary decorations that really set the mood of our celebration dinner. Our server knew it was our first time there and was very helpful in answering our questions and also making recommendations. There was complimentary bread while we had our drinks and also started off with fried calamari. My boyfriend is very particular of calamari and I’m glad he enjoyed the appetizer, the breading seemed to be perfect, not too thick that you only taste the breading and it had a nice flavor to it. The main dishes we ended up ordering was the stuffed chicken breasts and the filet with twin lobster tails, and both were 5 out of 5 stars! My boyfriend was a bit surprised when his chicken plate came out, it was a whole chicken, he was expecting just the breasts but he was delightfully surprised because it was roasted perfectly and the stuffing was heaven. The garlic herb cheese stuffing was not overwhelming and it was a nice touch to the already delicious roasted chicken. I ordered the filet as medium and it came out as I liked, a bit of juiciness but also tender and the lobster tails were perfectly cooked and seasoned. As our sides we have mashed potatoes, while it wasn’t extraordinary, it was nice accompaniment to our main dishes. They’re very generous with their servings, so you can definitely bring some to go. We had room for dessert and capped off our dinner with crème brulee. The ambience, the service, and the food were all a hit in our book and we will definitely be coming back. Thank you Ruth’s Chris for a wonderful night out.

Rare GNO! Met up some gf’s for a post/early holiday/birthday dinner. The neon outside wasn’t working, so 3 out of 4 of us missed the entrance(hint: it wasn’t me hehe). When entering, the restrooms are to the right and the host stand to the left. We were greeted and seated promptly. I haven’t been to this new location before, and my last trip to the old one was well over 10 years ago — so pretty much this is a brand new restaurant for me. There was a section near the front that had sliding doors for private gatherings, and another large dining room further in where we were seated. A loft upstairs housed the wine(and I’m assuming a private dining area). The atmosphere is what you’d expect for a steakhouse. Lobster mac and cheese: sadly this was the lone disappointment of the night. The lobster was slightly overcooked, the cheese on top started to coagulate, and the flavor was just so-so. Do yourself a favor and just go get it down the street at Capital Grille instead. Sweet potato casserole: I don’t care for sweets but this was quite tasty. This could double as a side or dessert. The pecan crumble on top was a nice contrast to the creamy sweet potato. Asparagus w/hollandaise, Sauteed mushrooms: just what you’d expect Petite Ribeye: I think this was 12oz, which still left enough for me to take home! Perfect med-rare, served sizzling in butter on a hot plate. Berries and vanilla cream: simple and light dessert I certainly wouldn’t mind making a return trip here. While nothing really blew my mind, it was a solid meal that was done well. A note: Restroom stall doors are very heavy and you can’t tell if someone is inside. You just have to try to open the doors to see, which can be awkward.
