I love the salads and variety of items to go on my salad! The Krab topping is a very tasty addition. Even with a long line on most days at lunch time it still is not too long of a wait.

I love the wraps and the fact that you have no limit on ingredients. The food is fresh for the most part and very tasty. Always a long line around noon lunch hour so you know it is good.

Okay seriously the only reason i continue to go to this Salata is because it’s is one of two healthy options in the tunnel. It’s either subway or Salata. I’m obsessed with Salata, i grab it almost any time it’s convenient. in the Galleria, in Tomball, anytime Salata is an option I go for it. The ingredients are great, no complaints on the ingredients. This location is the stingiest Salata I’ve ever been to. A previous review says that the avocado is free. It definitely isn’t, its a dollar extra for a fourth of an avocado. I don’t know if this particular location has strict portion controls or what but they give you the tiniest spoon serving of the ingredients. I literally have to ask for *more* of every single ingredient. Also, when you get shrimp they COUNTTHEMOUT. You get 8, and not a single shrimp more. I’ve been to Salata’s all over Houston and this is the absolute only one that is so sparing on their ingredients! This happens every single time I go in there, it doesn’t matter which person prepares my salad. I am let down every single time that I pay $ 10 for a salad and they want to count my shrimp and give me three raisins. SOANNOYING

The salad I had provided large portions of everything and it was mixed well but I felt some of the ingredients were hit or miss. With the exception of the carrots, all the add-ins seemed fresh. The lettuce is the real problem which is kinda a big problem. That said I was so impressed with the size, function of the line and add-ins that I still think it deserves 3 stars.

This is a nice option for a relatively fresh lunchtime salad in the downtown loop of Houston. I say«relatively fresh» because I agree with other reviewers that the lettuce seems to have that«bagged lettuce» flavor, or lack thereof. I appreciate that their Spring Mix has kale in it. It could have been spillover from the kale bin, but it worked for me. I like the unlimited toppings, and the dressings are fresh and original(fat free mango, herb vinagrette, etc.). Avocado is *not* free, contrary to one reviewer(it’s $ 1 extra as of this review 6⁄2014). Chicken is $ 2 more, and there is a variety of options: pesto chicken, chipotle chicken, plain grilled chicken. The lunch rush gets a little busy and the line can creep around the corner. Still, it’s a commendable choice in the underground walkway.

This place is totally bangin for fast, fresh, and tasty salads. Once you get the hang of the service you will come back for more, without a doubt. And it is so cool that they are up front about what is gluten free on the menu. Clear as day. It is very difficult to find this attention to dieting detail in the tunnels since Houston seems content with its Treebeards and burgers and paninis. From a dude who avoided salad like the plague for nearly 35 years — please, do yourself a favor and check it out. My only gripe about Salata would be the price, since if you add a drink and soup, your up near $ 15 for lunch. Then again, isn’t that the norm at this point. for something decent?

My go-to salad place downtown! Positives + fresh salad from a bag — ice berg, spring mix, or spinach + plenty of different mix-ins from tofu, beans, fruit, various other veggies + HUGE variety of dressing — I LOVETHEHERBVINAIGRETTE + «FREE» avocado! + included bread + tasty pesto toasted pita chips! + a lean operation — you get out of there quickly… assuming there’s not a line. Negatives — price — a non-meat salad is $ 8 — I found a bug in my salad once and took it back. They didn’t believe that I found it and said it just fell in from the air… wth. After some arguing, they made me a new salad. Note: the lunch rush hour gets pretty hefty right at noon so either go earlier or later than noon.

Gods of hypocrisy, please forgive me. I used to spit slightly impolite quips about the army of corporate people marching around in the downtown tunnels with their matching blue shirts and telltale white-with-green-logo Salata bags at 12 noon sharp. Also, I absolutely. hate. eating. salads. I grew up spoiled off of eating steaming hot home-cooked food, so you would never catch me dead eating salad. Even if it came out as an included«appetizer» or «side dish,» I would snobbily push it aside and eagerly await the carby, starchy stuff. So, my staunch belief against salads aside, Salata is a great place to go as your«training wheel for eating salads as a meal.» I started going there daily to start weaning myself off of huge helpings of Pad Thai. You can get ALMOST anything you want on your salad, plus some meat, plus some bread, plus they don’t reprimand you for helping yourself to extra packages of ritz crackers. First, you order your salad base, and you can have it as a salad or a wrap(basically your salad stuffed into a tortilla). Then, you order your toppings. Then, you ask for a dressing. Then, type of meat(they also have tofu and fish options). Then, type of bread. Then you can add pita chips and avocado. It’s nice to have the option of a dairy-free, vegetarian salad, for those of you with dietary restrictions. I’m torn about the price, because it’s not a cheap meal but you also get WHATEVERYOUWANT on the salad. The ladies who make your salsa seem cordial, but sometimes they seem like they get annoyed about having to scoop too many toppings on each salad. So, you could probably get a cheaper, better-tasting salad elsewhere. But as far as customizing a salad to your taste, I think Salata wins.

Salata is quick, fresh, and just what I like, when it comes to salad. You can get as many or as few toppings for your salad as you want. While some say the price is high for just salad, I think it’s pretty decent considering the variety of options and the quality. Also, their salad dressings are great! I am a huge fan of the ginger lime!

I’m lazy. I don’t like to walk more than I have to when I go to lunch in the downtown tunnels during the week. Even though Salata is one of the closest places to my office, I will likely never return unless forced to or if I’m in the mood for generic«custom» salads that taste a bit off. While the greens seem somewhat fresh, I have little doubt that they came packaged in a plastic bag. The chicken is mediocre and the shrimp should be off limits to everyone unless you’re looking to lose some weight through uncomfortable means. The real kicker is that it’s way overpriced for a salad. For the price of the salad at Salata, you could easily go somewhere else and get a salad, drink and even a cookie or bag of chips. Do yourself a favor and go to Jason’s Deli’s salad bar or somewhere else. Just keep walking. Even the lazy person in me implores you to.
