Love this place! Always find good stuff. Also better to shop here than goodwill because goodwill a profits are outrageous.

Donation drop off is very easy. There’s a huge 18-​wheeler, minus the cabin, there ready for you to pull up and have someone assist you.

Not much high end stuff. Clean inside. Found a Starbucks Travel Mug, but that’s it. Not much inside. Okay prices.

I recently moved to Houston from Graduate School and I needed some furniture. I was shopping around Houston and online to figure out what I wanted/​needed/​could afford and in the process I made a habit of stopping in any thrift stores I came across to see if they had any furniture.
This Salvation Army is a treasure trove of NICE furniture. I ended up buying a couch and a table with extension and 6 matching chairs here. I happened to stop in this weekend just to see what they had and it was full of bedroom sets! This store will be on my rotation to visit because it always has good stuff!
Lastly, the people who work here are genuinely nice, yes they provide good service but there is something more, they care to help you.

I’m definitely a fan of this place. It is well maintained, the staff is very friendly, and the selection is quite large. I’ve come here on a number of occasions, and the last time was to find some work clothes. They have some great brands (that are in great condition) for great prices (so much great!): Ann Taylor, JCrew, Loft, Express, H&M, F21, etc. The parking lot is ample so when you come, you probably won’t have to deal with street parking.

I am a 2^nd gen dedicated shopper here… and love it… especially Wednesdays with my pals for ½ price clothing. Good selection of clothing, furniture & bric-​à-​brac, Also have toys, appliances, books, vinyl records, bikes and assorted other &…friendly staff.

My first trip here, I was only looking for LP’s, don’t go there looking for LP’s…
They did have some nice furniture and seemed to have a ton of books. Lots of clothes but I didn’t delve into any of that stuff.

I wish thrift shopping wasn’t so much work! But this one was clean enough and they were constantly restocking the three times I popped in. I keep finding cool stuff so I’ll keep going back! I’m taking off one star because their Wednesday sale day was so crowded and I couldn’t get a basket.

Ugh. I’ve been to nearly every thrift/​resale shop there is in Houston and this does not make the cut. Mostly junk, in my opinion. They do have a large selection of books but after looking through racks and racks of useless clothing I had no energy left for the books. Came on a Wednesday specifically because I heard about it being 50% off clothing. I’d skip this one if I were you and take your business to a locally-​owned and operated resale shop, they are aplenty!

One of my new favorite things to do on the weekends is go thrift shopping with my gf. We don’t necessarily buy a lot of items, but it’s more the thrill and fun of just searching and playing with the items available. I must say out of all the thrift shops we visited this place was by far one of the most clean and organized.
They even had a huge area with furniture. Some of the pieces were very nice, but with it being clean and organized the prices were a bit higher than other thrift shops. They do have specials on specific days where things are marked down significantly.

Great charity and also my favorite place to donate, mainly because the head honchos aren’t rolling in money (unlike Good Will). I do wish they had a better system for accepting clothing donations. I makes me cringe to put new or nice, dry cleaned items into that dumpster style bin. I tried walking my pressed clothes in so they could be hung up… only to be sent back out to the big metal catchall. So basically, silk blouses are getting thrown in with beaded dresses, heels, boots, and whatever else might fall on top.

Very terrible customer service. Whomever wrote in the sale price did not specify that it was only on clothing. And then when I complained to the manager he gave me an attitude and said it wasn’t his problem and not his mistake

What you get from this place depends on your expectations and what you put in.
I am a reformed thrift store junkie. I used to visit this particular Salvation Army at least once a week, scouring the racks for great labels. When I had the patience and the time, I found some great labels and quality items! I had a whole bevy of friends and relatives I would shop for, women and men. For men, I found clothes from Banana Republic, Saks, Nordstrom, Thomas Pink, Ted Baker, and plenty of great sports/​college shirts and sweats (Rice, UT, UH, Texans). For women, the finds were a bit more extravagant: Dolce & Gabana (the real thing, not a knockoff), Vera Wang, Juicy Couture, Chico’s (for the mom), BCBG, etc. All clothes are half-​priced on Wednesdays.
Now that I don’t shop for clothes there, though, I focus my efforts on the housewares. Here, things are very hit and miss. You will occasionally find a cool item (crystal punch bowl, new fondue set, santa claus cookie jar) amid the crud, but most of it is slightly overpriced. I saw a canvas print of Chip and Dale (Disney) that was marked for $ 19.99. Now, I love chipmunks as much as the next person, but come on.
If you are in need of a quick costume for a party or halloween, this is a great place to get the essentials or the building blocks. I have made costumes for 80’s parties (including one where I was Mr. T, and yes it won best costume of the night) with great success. The shelves and racks are stocked with stuff for 60’s, 70’s, 80’s or 90’s themed parties (are there 90’s themed parties yet?), and plenty of stuff if you decide you want to go cowboy/​girl or military. I even got a full set of camo stuff when I got invited to go paintballing for the first (and last) time.
Bring your patience and an open mind, and you will more than likely come away with at least one good find.

This location is packed to the gills with items. Many racks were hard to push through as they were loaded down. Lots of bins with items to hang were blocking some aisles. Went on half price Wednesday and did find some super bargains. Well worth the trip for me.

Endless supah-​cheap books, but deceiving prices on clothing.
I really don’t like it when stores label signs on clothing racks as «starting from X amount of dollars», when in fact you never can find ANY items that are actually priced that low based on their tags.
It’s a lame way to do business, especially when one is used to the straight-​up one-​price-​per-​type-​of-​clothing (ex: 3.99 blouses or 9.99 dresses at Goodwill)

Enjoyed a quick browse through this Salvation Army this afternoon. It’s spacious, well-​lit, and well-​organized store with a huge selection of clothing (womens, kids, formal stuff, men’s, exercise, lingerie.), knick knacks and house hold items, books, and even furniture. This store stood out to me particularly because of the good condition the household items were in — most thrift stores I’ve seen have household items that are dusty or dirty looking but I saw lots of brand new and vintage items here for great prices. In general, prices seemed reasonable for a thrift store (cheaper than the Goodwill in Montrose at least) and they were having a 50% white tag New Years sale when I dropped in.
Be careful crossing the street from Catalina heading to this place; there’s no crosswalk or stop signs for Washington at this intersection.

Gave it four stars back in 2012, but lately (2015) I haven’t found as many treasures.

For a thrift store, it was a bit pricey. And I know I sound like a cheapskate… well I AM. Deal with it.
I say pricey for a thrift store differently than say a watch. If some cute blouse is $ 8 and it has faint pit stains, that’s pricey. And a bit gross. If this jack has a screwed up hem and you still want to charge $ 14, that’s pricey. So thank goodness I came on half time Wednesday. Or whatever it was called.
They were busy stocking up so there were roll away bins and stands everywhere. It made it kind of a hassle to get to certain areas, so I didn’t even bother checking out the coats. And Lord knows I needed one with that crazy, sporadic rain that was happening. I mostly went through the blouses and skirts and the shoes as well. The prices were acceptable for being half off but I wouldn’t come any other day where there wasn’t a special. I did find a cute knit blouse in great condition for $ 3 that I am realizing now I JUST ADORE so I just made this a 3 star review. There are some gems (found a Betsy Johnson corset but alas, it wasn’t my size, balderdash!) among the sea of whatever but for the most part, this one was picked clean of any really hot items. The cashier was quick and helpful and overall, there wasn’t too much of a screaming kids problem. Decent thrift store!

I passed by this place after brunch at Beaver’s and knew I had to check it out. There’s a small private lot, but if it’s full, don’t let that deter you from visiting because this place is spacious and clean and neatly organized.
They advertise Wednesdays as half off clothing, but they seem to have deals on other days, too, because I went on a Saturday and a white board at the entrance greeted me with 50% off white tags, shoes, purses, and linens.
Clothing is organized by men’s and women’s and then broken down into tops and bottoms by color. Items are stapled with price tags so it’s easy to see the price. The prices are good, but not dirt cheap until after the discount. For example, I saw a blue tagged Bebe nylon black boat-​neck crop top that was $ 11. I was looking for a pair of denim shorts, but couldn’t find anything that wasn’t too short/​tight or too mom-​looking. I was not impressed by the labels I found this visit — mostly Old Navy, Forever 21, and old department stores. Some of the belts were more in the «well worn» condition and I wasn’t interested in fake Chanel bags. However, for me, thrifting is all about the hunt for that amazing designer bargain so I will be returning.
There is a selection of VHS tapes, books, home goods (a lovely purple glass vase for $ 7), and furniture, but I didn’t spend much time browsing because I don’t need anything at the moment.

Five stars all the way.
Half price Wednesdays paired with the already very reasonable prices? INCREDIBLE. Not able to go on Wednesday? Every other day of the week a certain tag is half off!
Brands I’ve found here include but certainly aren’t limited to 7 for All Mankind Jeans (not even knockoffs!!). Christian Dior, most brands that come from Anthropologie, BCBG…
And the brands I seem to find every time I go? Banana Republic, Ann Taylor Loft, GAP, Old Navy, most brands Target distribute and there is Forever 21 galore. You ask… I’ve probably came across it.
If you have a younger kid this is a great place to pick things up since lots of little ones wear things for a year or less. I’ve found GAP, Gymboree, Jack&Janie and Childrens Place jeans here for my son… for 99c… even better on half off day ;)
There are four or five changing rooms. And very clean restrooms.
So here comes the part where I’m shaking my head in disbelief. The prices of the furniture are ridiculous! And not in a good way, in a «I can buy a new piece of furniture for THAT price!» That is unless you go to the auction that is on the street behind it… oh me, oh my I’ve gotten some beautiful vintage chairs here at $ 5 a pop, a well made bookshelf for $ 20 & I’m always seeing things being bought up for über cheap. If you are a DIYer furnishing a home… oh yes this is the place you’ll love!
I’m here once a week & can’t get over the awesome deals I can find! This store is HUGE, so have plenty of time & patience on your hands!
PS — Going on half price Wednesday? If you get there before noon but not RIGHT when the doors open, you won’t be getting a shopping cart. You need to be shoving yourself in the doors the moment the door opens at 10!
