Phillip Shama is a master of his craft. I came here as recommendation based on my triathlon coach and I couldn’t be happier with the service and professionalism I received from Shama Cycles. He was able to get me on a very short notice for a custom fit, made the appropriate adjustments and recommendations for a more comfortable ride on my road bike. He made additional suggestions and explained the science behind it without the pushy salesman attitude, which I completely appreciate! I will definitely be back to follow up on those recommendations!

My husband and I are both avid cyclists and we have worked with many of the local tri/bike shops in town — but, this is the one we remain loyal to. Two years ago we both had custom Guru’s made through Shama. The experience has been incredible. Everything from the initial fit on the new bike, to follow up fits every year. Phil stays in contact with us and makes certain we are happy. We return often… in fact, there are few other places I will actually allow/want to work on my bike. It’s a store run by cyclists for cyclists. It’s a very low key and laid back atmosphere — come in, say hi, get to know the mechanics kinda vibe! Very open and cool space. If you are looking to improve and become a beast in your age group — Philip works magic with his fits to maximize those watts and your comfort over the long haul. And yeah, they sell some pretty sweet gear too!

OK… so Blake K. is related to Philip I guess. Here’s the truth about Shama Cycles… it’s a hobby business for Philip and his wife. Who’d rather be racing than tending a business. Don’t get me wrong, they seem to have a following and being a Guru dealer gives them a niche. BUT… this is NOT the bike shop for the average Joe-enthusiast or average racer… especially NOT for anyone who actually knows anything about bikes and wrenching them. I’m sure they get some things right… just BECAREFUL when dealing with them and don’t expect anything that resembles a professional retail experience. You never get a second chance at a first impression… I know they won’t with me. Buyer beware!

If you are looking for premium service at a boutique cycling store, this is the place you need to go. It might not be the place to get a tire for your child’s huffy, but it is definitely the place to build your dream bike. The store has really improved it’s offering for a cyclist’s daily needs, while maintaining it’s top spot on the pedestal for sending great race bikes out of the door. Check this place out if you need to get your position dialed in, purchase the next flashy part on your pride and joy, or if you have the desire to cash the 401(k) to put something flashy between your legs Whether its for an Ironman or just for stomping people on a weekend ride, they have you covered.
