I’ve had kolaches from different shipleys and I’ve got to say this location is by far the one that has the BEST ones. They’re not shy in filling them up and their dough is amazing. I figured all shipleys should have the same tasting donuts and kolaches but I was surprised to find they don’t?! Anyway if you’re close by this is the place you want to stop at or drive the extra miles! It’s so worth it!!!

My buddy swore up and down that these were the best donuts in Houston. Actually, he said the best donuts… period. Being a die-hard Winchell’s fan I had to see what the fuss was about. We ordered a dozen, 6 glazed and the others a mix of fillings and frostings. We also picked up some donut holes. The one thing about these donuts that hit me immediately was how light they were. I could have inhaled two dozen without thinking twice. They just melted in your mouth. The fillings popped with flavor and never once did the donuts feel greasy or heavy. I’m still undecided on whether or not they’re the best EVER, but they are definitely stellar donuts and I’ll be back to try out the rest of their flavors.

Excellent donuts when they’re hot and fresh but world’s worst coffee. I would love to give shipley 5 stars because I grew up eating them but their coffee is awful.

Out of all of the different donut shops, Shipleys still holds true to who they’ve been for years. This particular store is a life saver for me. I often stop here on my way to the barber shop. My latest action was this past Sunday. My family and I decided to leave home a little early for church in order to have time to stop and get donuts and kolaches. I love the consistent service of the workers. Everyone is always pleasant and very helpful. I just don’t remember the kolaches being that size. For some reason, I thought Shipley’s kolaches were larger than what i’ve had the last couple of times. Maybe I am having a brain fart. Well one plus to this is that they actually put 2 sausages in the kolache. An issue that I have with all donut shops is that I assume the primary way to eat a donut is warm… I guess i’m odd because I’m always asking them to warm up my donuts. A good thing about this location is that I see no signs of irritation when asked to warm up my donuts. Sitting next to the window also satisfies my «people watching». A lot of interesting individuals comes to this location. Stop on by!!!
