Shipley’s Donuts

The best donut placeheave 99 percent of the time. I called to advise they might want to pull the sausage kolaches. They were not cook right or stored at the wrong temperature but the manager could not speak English and the owner did not return the call to advise what happened? I spit out the kolaches right away and had to pulled over to side of road to dry heave. This is my only bad experience with this place.

For those of you that don’t know, you can order online and pick up at the time you request! Kolaches also come in bite sizes now! 12 for $ 9!
This is super useful to me bc I had to pick up breakfast for my last day as a student at the clinic I did my rotation at. I needed a box of kolaches so I decided to order it the night before. When I stopped by, they had it fresh and ready for me. It was so painless!!! I’m probably going to do this for all of my clinical rotations.
The kolaches were still warm by the time I got to the clinic and everyone raved about the bread to sausage ratio being just perfect with the bite sized kolaches. They actually finished the box! SCORE! It was just the right amount of food for a clinic of 4 women. If the 2 guys who normally worked were there, I might’ve had to get 2 dozens.
I believe this location is open 24 hrs as well.

Donuts donuts donuts! I had a craving for donuts! I love the blueberry cake donut not glazed! Yummy! But customer service was really bad. The lady at the counter was on the phone the entire time I was there. Just talking away.

Shipley’s Donuts is your staple soft and fluffy donuts. I know people like Krispy Kreme because it’s more firm, but I’ve always grown up with the airy, melt in your mouth deliciousness that is Shipley’s.
The reason I’m giving this a 5 is because of their service. Service is a big deal to me, and they have great customer service. They are very fast and attentive, and try to do their best to get your order quickly. I ordered donut holes today, but they were still making them, so asked if I would like to wait, and because they made me wait, the lady gifted me a second dozen of donut holes for free! It just meant a lot that they care so much about what their customers think, and willing to give free donut holes, simply because I had to wait an extra 5 minutes.
As always, price is reasonable, ambiance is what you expect in a quick donut place, and service is impeccable. Hope you enjoy!

Pros: Drive thru is available, open late, friendly/​patient emoloyees, great location
Con: No menu available at Drive thru window, no individual cream containers, donuts not prepared fresh/​only prepared once daily
Glad to have found this location when I needed a late night donut fix. I was able to get my glazed twist, coffee & apple fritter, for my granny!!! This is a plus as most donut shops close prior to 3p.
Friendly staff made it easy to order & drive away with my treat.

Drive thru lacks a menu board for those who may not be familiar with the menu.

The donuts here are good but honestly I don’t care to go here because the customer service service sucks! No matter what time of the day I go the servers are never happy or friendly. They seem annoyed that you are even there.

Donuts are good. Kolaches are not. The staff here don’t make any effort to be friendly.
Last time I visited, I used my debit card for the first time in 2 weeks — the same night someone went on a spending spree with my checking account in Bellaire.
I wont go back.

Beignets aren’t on the menu listed inside the store. Make sure you know what you want to order in advance if going through drive through as there is no menu posted near the drive through. Also Foursquare check-​in special!

Donuts were delicious. But the drive thru service was not good. Clerk didn’t greet, was short and rude. She did not promote the happy donut mood! I felt like my order was inconveniencing her. Go to another Shipley’s if you can.

My granddaughter loves it, they stop often on the way to school. Quick service if you go in. The donuts are fresh and yummy.

My husband and I moved nearby and like the idea of walking to Shipley’s on a Saturday morning. This location is clean and new looking, plus it has a drive through and is near the Terry Hershey trails.
The donuts are fine, nothing spectacular. Skip the kolaches, they’re all bread with a single slice of pre-​packaged lunch meat stuffed inside. For what it’s worth, the fritters have way too much filling, too.
I could honestly overlook the mediocre product, but the deal breaker for me is the employee’s crappy attitudes. They are always grumpy and act burdened by the fact that you’re there.
Also, there are only four or five, 2-​person tables inside and no outdoor seating (not sure why another Unilocaler said they have a cute patio area…). Since we walk there, we never can stay and enjoy our donuts, because we have the dog with us and no place to sit outside. (Cue the violins, I know.)
Still on the hunt for our neighborhood breakfast place in the Energy Corridor…

This ain’t your grandma’s Shipley’s.
Hot and fresh donuts. Take the time and try the beignets!!! Definitely the best you can get here in Houston! EAT THEM WHILE THEY’RE HOT! They’re light, airy, and caked with powered sugar. You’ll want to swing back through the drive-​thru for some chickory coffee.
If you want to sit a while — they’ve got a bright clean space inside and a cute patio area outside.

This review is for the drive thru here at Shipley’s
First off, it was definitely a bummer to not have a menu up front. I pulled up to the drive thru and had no clue what was on the menu (I mean I know the usual donut selection but I wasn’t sure if they had anything unique). Luckily there was a sign on the drive thru window for beignets, which was awesome. They are definitely much larger than I expected, with icing on the bottom and powdered sugar on the top. Absolutely delicious though, nice and airy, a bit flaky and chewy at the same time. It was like 3 bucks for 3 too, so a definite steal. Think fist sized portions.

They opened this location earlier in the year. It has a drive-​thru, which is convenient if you just want to get your food and go. It can be a little crowded in the mornings though.
As for the food itself… it’s typical Shipley’s fare. The kolaches were decent, although the breading is a bit too much. The donuts were good, as always.
I like the fact that they participate in random promotions though. It was Donut Day a few weeks ago. They had this guy dressed up as a donut outside, waving everyone to come in and get a free donut. Free food and a guy dressed as a giant donut? That’s a huge plus in my book.
