Great spot for breakfast. Really good value with the Simos Special. Friendly service with a classic diner vibe.

Well cooked homemade food for the taking. Food line cafeteria style serves up tasty main courses and sides. Inexpensive for quality. Will continue dining here

I love this place! Service is always great! Super friendly staff and you can tell they take pride in what they serve. I’ve been here a couple of times and every time I leave full and happy. Portions are big and prices are affordable! $ 8 for a healthy serving of food! Last time I went I got a side salad and the spaghetti and meatballs. Spaghetti and meatballs were delicious!!! If you’re looking for simple home cook meals this is your place! Definitely a must try if you are in the area!

This place just sucks. Service sucks, food sucks… Coming from New York… They need to seriously work on their cooking style… Simple things like not being able to bang out breakfast is just sad. Waitress just wanted to sit…

Wish we could find breakfast that was this good closer to our home. It stinks we have to travel so far to fine yummy breakfast. The waitress was super nice and the food was terrific. Next time we are out that way we will be going back!!!

Very nice place I love everything except there pan sausage, its kind of greasy and taste half cooked other than that I love everything else I eat here. I try and stop by at least twice a week now since I’ve found the place a short time ago. The staff is perfect makes you feel important and acts like they really care.

I unfortunately can’t comment on the food, but the service that WE received was terrible. My husband and I went in for breakfast and the waitress that took our drink order never returned with drinks or to take our order. They were moderately busy, but that in no way stopped the waitress from catering the the obvious regulars. I understand that the regulars are the«bread and butter» of this place, but all regulars were at one time first time customers… remember that. Either way, after 15 minutes of being ignored with still no drinks, we left.

Wow! What a awesome lunch I had. The most delicious beef tips. All the veggies were extremely fresh and tasty! I had probably the best mustard greens I’ve ever had. I only wished I lived closer so I could eat here all the time

Family owned and operated makes all the difference here. They make home style cooking fresh every day and treat each and every one of their guest as family. The restaurant itself is like a very basic café but the food is really good. It truly reminds me of my moms cooking. So if you want a good home style meal served by a really nice family I differently recommend stopping by. Do not expect a lot of bells and whistles but make sure you are hungry because the servings are huge.

My new go to breakfast place! Too bad they are not open on Sundays. Excellent prices, great food, the cook/owner even comes out to see that you are enjoying your food. When he saw that I gave all my bacon to my bf he said i could have ordered something else, i explained to him that I just don’t eat meat and he offered to bring me a small side of tomatoes to top my eggs with. This was mid-meal so i didn’t need anything more but was very appreciative of him. The pancakes are to die for.

It’s steamtable, cafeteria style, Everything is well seasoned, generous portions, and has good texture. It’s clean, but the ambiance is meh. It’s likely a case of sticking with what works as a family owned restaurant. For this blue collar area, it’s definately preferable to the fast food choices nearby.

The service was good, the portions are generous, and the place is clean. It was a nice change from the other restaurants I have visited in the area. My girlfriend had the meatloaf and she said it was okay but not wow. The potato salad mostly tasted of raw peppers. The Greek salad was great, although I learned I dislike feta cheese. The use of authentic Greek olives was a fun change of pace. All in all, it’s a nice quiet place to go, and we’ll be back.

You cant beat this place when it comes to getting a plate full of real, delicious food for under 10 bucks. Friendly service from the entire staff, rustic but clean interior and delicious comfort as well as Greek food. Never a disappointment.

Still serving simple fresh diner food & Greek fare after all these years. I have been for breakfast on many occasions with my pops. No frills & no complaints from me.

I like this place. Laid back atmosphere, friendly waitresses, and a pretty darn good breakfast for not a lot of money. Country diner in the city.

Best breakfast and lunch steam table in Houston. Very friendly wait staff, atmosphere is with the locals from surrounding Independence Heights and Oak Forest area. You get REALFOOD that’s just damn good. Chicken & Dumplings and turkey&dressing and roast beef are done just right. The variety of vegetables and tasty greek salad are not to be missed, great selection for vegetarians. It’s done right.

Blue collar, established mom and pop(and son) diner. Healthy portions of vegetables come with the lunch buffet. Daily specials of home-cooked traditional food. Service is down-home friendly diner style. Breakfast looks interesting and is probably good. In most places like this, the vegetables in steam table of stainless steel pans tend to get soggy and overcooked. Not too bad here. At least the food doesn’t look or taste like it was from yesterday. The spinach and green beans were acceptable, and not over salted. The owner is Greek, so there are a few items of heritage. I ordered the special, a Greek-style stuffed bell pepper. Mildly spiced, not greasy. Slightly better than I expected at this type of place and neighborhood(i.e. not yuppie). Roll and cornbread are complementary, but below average(not in same league as Black-Eyed Pea, for example). Nothing was too salty. This is important for some folks. $ 8 is reasonable for large portions of meat, 3 veggies and iced tea. $ 4.50 for breakfast of 3 eggs, 3 bacon, 1 sausage, hash browns or grits, and toast or biscuits or pancakes.
