Slick Willie’s Family Pool Halls

Great place, great atmosphere, and a great location! It wasn’t crowded at all which is good. Plus all the tables are in top notch condition!

Slick Willies is one of the best pool halls in the Houston area. They take care of the equipment, as well as their customers. All of the staff is super friendly and helpful. My favorite bar tender is Jaki. Another word for these bar tenders is AWESOME! When I go here I always feel like family.

Just experienced the most horrendous behavior ever in Montrose. I have been going to this place for years and last night will probably be my last. I get that it’s Halloween and it’s busy so people working have a lot of stress. That’s no excuse to being absolutely terrible to your customers though! We started off by ordering a couple of drinks. The bartender, Jackie, messed up our order. When we confronted her, she blew up and starting cursing at us for correcting her. Her coworker apologized repeatedly for her behavior, but I would love an apology from her myself.
I talked to a few other parties and they told me they experienced similar hostile interactions with the staff.
This is absolutely unacceptable. Don’t terrorize people who are spending good money and trying to have a good time at your establishment.
Let me just also add, $ 30 for 5 taaka shots haha. Gross.

Great place for pool & drinks. Staff was very friendly, can control music from an IPod app.

It’s as you would expect. Nothing fancy. Mixed crowd, food and music. Good place to go and get out for a few.

Didn’t like the fact that on the wall in slick willies it has a bunch of rules. One says «no tank tops allowed» yet half the women working there wear tank tops! That rubbed me the wrong way. The pizza was delicious and service was nice.

Big pool hall with over 17 tables, darts, air hockey, and basketball arcade game. Bar serves beer and mixed drinks. Pool is paid by the hour, in minute increments. Good tables and sticks to play. Nice little hangout spot to kick back.

My husband and I went on a double date with friends last night. I loved the music and the fact that we were placed at a pool table immediately upon arrival. The service that we received last night was just AWFUL! We had to continuously ask the waitress to check on our drinks and remind her to get our drinks from the bar as she giggled at the POS with a coworker continuously. As we were closing out our tab, we noticed our ticket had several incorrect charges. When we walked in, she told us the punch and house margaritas were $ 5, so I ordered 4 margaritas and my friends ordered two crown apples (which by the way were actually regular crown royal with a «splash» of apple juice! NOT CROWN APPLE! If you don’t have the product, just say so please!) We received our ticket and it literally read «4 $ 5 specials,» but it equaled up to $ 23 instead of $ 20 AND had an additional $ 2 line marked ‘Ritas’ right below it. So they were trying to charge $ 25 for 4 $ 5 margaritas. I think I know that 4 times 5 is 20, so I politely asked the waitress to come over to explain the discrepancy with our ticket. This is when she told us, «The margaritas are actually $ 5.75…» (By the way, that would only explain the $ 23, not the additional $ 2 on the ticket.) We explained to her the exact thing that she told us as she told us the special for the night and also pointed out the additional charges. She said she would change it and bring it back. Well, I guess she didn’t like us pointing out the discrepancy so she sent the guy she had been giggling with the entire night to bring the check back. When we got it back, it was still wrong. She never came back to our table, but continuously passed by to serve other tables while ignoring us for the rest of the time we were there. I’m not sure why she was upset with us because all we did was point out a problem with our ticket and asked that it be fixed. We’ve never received this kind of service at ANY location of Slick Willie’s and we surely won’t be returning because of this event.

I like this Slick Willy’s location a lot. It’s not too busy, so you’ll always have access to play the air hockey, basketball shooting game, foosball, as well as playing pool.

We stopped by on a Tuesday after trying to go to top golf and being told the wait there would be 2 hours! The staff seemed ok, the prices were ok, but I don’t understand why a place that advertises itself as a FAMILY place allows smoking? I’d never take my kids in there! I had to leave after an hour because the smoke was bothering my eyes and throat. I could smell smoke on my hands even after washing them. I won’t be back. If I feel like playing pool again I’ll have to find a place in Houston city limits so I can have fun, breathe, and not wreak after.

If there was option for 0 Stars, that would be my score. Terrible service by both managers, one of which wouldn’t serve me since I wanted to pay cash for my tab, and the other that justified his actions. Never again.

And so I had a first date with this guy and we hung for a bit and decided to head over to Slick Willie’s. And we had decent service and sucky drinks. I had not been to SW’s in a year or two and it’s a pretty basic uniform experience. I suck at pool, but for a first or second date I can still win 3 of 5 games because my date sucks at pool just as much as I do.(He will usually lose on an 8 ball scratch and I’m good with that).
Is this my go to hangout spot? Nope. Will I hit this place up again? Sure… When I go on my 55^th first date. No Problem. Welcome to my single chick world.

I parked in the back and got my window smashed in on my new car. My laptop was stolen, and when I told the manager about it he said it wasn’t the first time. Yet, their are no signs or paper alerting customers of this.
Don’t park in the back — better yet don’t go to this pool hall that is surrounded by hipsters, druggies, or crackheads.

We like coming here, but only on the nights they have specials. They’re price for pool is ridiculous, but on certain days (I think its Mondays) its ‘free’ pool if you order the same amount as an hour ($ 12) which is pretty easy to do between two people and 4 – 5 beers. Wednesdays and Sundays they have $ 5 wristbands, so $ 5 unlimited pool per person. They have okay specials, nothing too great and their beer and drink prices arent cheap but arent expensive, just okay. $ 3 for a lonestar $ 3.75 for a margarita on special.
Their tables and sticks are good quality and their is almost always an open table. Their ‘smoking patio’ is just a door that leads to an outside corner of about 5 sq ft that hobos frequently walk by.
We had one really nice and helpful server named Mary, we like her a lot! She was super nice and understanding and smiled the whole time even though it was slow
Then again there is this one awful girl, I think her name is Jit? At least thats what they told me. She is the WORSSSSST, I cannot express that enough. We have had the unfortunate pleasure of having her wait on us a few times. She hustled us out of our favorite table by saying it was closed and her section was the one that was open, both times badgered me about buying a drink even though my boyfriend was drinking round after round (I’ve given up drinking and stick with water) and brought us drinks we didnt order trying to get us to pay for them.

It’s midnight and you get a text to shoot pool where do you end up at… Slick Willie’s that’s where. The drinks were great and the game of pool was fun. The place wasn’t that packed but that’s probably because it was rather late. The waitress was a doll and made sure that our drinks stayed full while we played. Parking can be a bit sticky on late nights and weekends but there is parking behind the building. Just make sure you read the signs.

Always an interesting crowd, fantastic bartenders day and night. Free pool on Mondays. 5 $ pool on Sunday and Wednesday.
Tables have recently been re-​felted. There are two 9 foot tables in the back. If you’ve ever had a problem with the staff here before, almost all of the staff has changed.

This place sucks. Prices are way too high.

Fun place to go as an alternative to the typical vapid, dancing-​all-​night or creepy-​people-​watching nightlife in clubs/​bars that are too loud to carry a half decent conversation.
