Smashburger

As an ex CIA agent, any opportunity to eat fries, burger, and shake is A plus in my book. To add some extra umami, just add an egg on top of your burger. Don’t tell the FBI, this is a CIA trick.

I think this place solid overall. Every burger I had here was great, including the spicy jalapeño Baja, bacon cheeseburger, and the buffalo blue cheese. The egg buns are really good and have almost a slight sweet taste to them. Also, I really love their fries here. This is the kind of meal you need when you’re having a bad day. It’s definitely worth a try when you’re looking for a burger fix!

For some reason, I’ve been craving burgers, as of late. I tend to face a dilemma when it comes to burger cravings because I usually go for something lighter. But today, with running on 2 hours of sleep, I had zero cares in the world about what I consumed and I’m SO glad that I didn’t!
I tried Smashburger for the first time today. If you know me, my first thought when I walk into a restaurant is, «What is the healthiest thing I can get on this menu…» LOL, not the best thought to have when going to a burger joint (Burger Sin #1). Okay anyway — the place was extremely clean and well kept. The workers here are some of the nicest people! Stars for the venue, stars for the workers, woohoo ~
Black Bean Avocado Ranch Burger — What a great great choice and a great great item to have on the menu. I actually removed the top bun (Burger Sin #2) and ate this with a fork and knife (Burger Sin #3). I was still very full & satisfied! I also did not eat this with the ranch, as I felt like it didn’t need condiments (Burger Sin #4) since the black bean patty was soft and so flavorful in itself (Justification for sin #4).
I would like to come back and try the fries, shakes, and other burgers on the menu. I’ve heard great things about everything they’ve got here. I guess I’ll have to write an updated review within the next few months :)

Like smash burger, but I will NEVER enter this location again. I stop in while running evening errands for some dinner. First stop is the ladies room. It is out of ALL paper. Luckily I had some kleenex in my purse! Ok, walk to counter and both guys are on their phone until I say something, after i have grabbed a menu off the counter right in front of them, they don’t even look up. I tell him about the bathroom, he says ok, is it for here or to go… really! I had to nearly go behind the counter they stood at to get napkins to dry my hands and used their trash can behind counter to trow them away.
I decide what I want and place my order, then notice there is a sign for family night with purchase of an entrée you get a free kids meal, only stipulation was dine in, great I am dining in. However he said no kid had to be with me, I asked him to show me that on the sign, he looked, front and back, nothing, so the debate continued. Really! Arguing with the customer, I felt bad for the people behind me and was disgusted at my experience since walking in that I decided not to eat there and will never come back!
Also, while I was waiting to order, a man and kid came up to order a milk shake, they were told it would take 15 minutes. When they asked why, the guy was rude and short with them, saying it’s frozen and I have to thaw it before it can be mixed. The poor kid was asking him, well what kind can I get that won’t take that long because they could not wait. It was heart breaking to see him so disappointed.

The food has been good. However, I have issues with two things. First, it smelled like dirty mop water when I was in there recently. I saw a bucket of dirty water, which I am guessing they are wiping tables down with because every table I considered sitting at smelled funky.
Second, for the 2^nd time in a month, I’ve been approached by beggars that tend to appear just outside the front door of the restaurant just as we are leaving. Both times I had my child with me and felt unsafe. There is no security guard that patrols here. HEB across the street had the common sense to get a uniformed officer. You either need to hire a guard or we will find somewhere else to spend our money. I’m tired of being accosted by beggars!
I’ve been coming to your location for about 2 years and will not return until I see a guard patrolling, and even then it better not smell like dirty mop water when I walk into the store. Get it together!

Very good burgers! The staff at this location were very friendly and since we had not had Smash before, they gave great recommendations to our firsts!
The Smashfries Sweet Potato Fries are so delicious! They’re a must try! Food came out quick and the place was clean!

I’ve been to this Smahburger location several times, so this review is pretty objective. Mind you, I do have a bit of a bias to Smashburger because I just love their burgers! I usually get the create your own regular size burger. Fresh ingredients are always stacked inside, but I have noticed more times than not that whomever if making the burger is a bit sloppy. Sometimes the veggies are sparse (like more lettuce is going to put you out of business)? Nonetheless, the crew members have always been friendly and get my order accurate. Once more, I have never paid for a side of fries from Smashburger because I complete the survey receipt. I do wish the fries were a little thicker but that’s a corporate decision. All in all, this place has a decent burger for you to partake of and possibility get a side of fries for free to compliment your burger bliss.

Why has nobody told me about this place before? Good burger that’s not greasy, real milkshakes, and those fries!

Tables were messy but the staff was kind and cleared them. Food comes out quickly and delicious

I love places like this. Kid and family friendly and not at all pretentious or pricey. I am so tired of McDonald’s and Burger King. The options are great and the taste is even better. I get the Smash original with the onion rings and refuse to count calories!

I love places that do old school milkshakes. You get through the goodness you have in the glass, feel sad for a moment, then realize you have more in the metal container!!!
The sandwich was an interesting experience for me. I had gathered enough that their burgers would be «smashed.» But I didn’t think they’d do it with the chicken too! It looked weird, but man did it taste good. I hadn’t thought about it, but by making a thin chicken patty, it allowed for better bun-​veggie-​meat ratios.
The sweet potatoes were crisp and not at all soggy. Wish they had a dipping sauce a la The Counter, but they were solid even with just ketchup.
Enjoyed the main stream chain feel counterbalanced by the old school booth diner look.

I love it and I enjoyed it. It is a great place to try burgers.
It is technically a high end fast food place I think. When you get in, you go to the very end, the counter, to order your food. Then they will bring the food you ordered.
I got a burger with avocado, and it was great! A little bit dry to my taste but the sauce was good!
My boyfriend got a bbq burger and he enjoyed it too.
I think it is actually better than The Counter located in Washington ave and woodlands. but my boyfriend thinks The Counter is better.
I love the skinny looking fries lol. It was called smash fries. The fries are added wth rosemary etc.
Definitely a good place to try burgers. Will go again to try some other burger in the menu. ;)

As someone who’s not from Texas, I had no idea Smashburger was a fairly prominent burger chain throughout the state prior to coming here. Given that information however, this place still makes some pretty good burgers.
Looking for somewhere quick to grab a bite since my friends and I had to catch a movie later that night, we settled on coming here. We definitely weren’t disappointed! The burgers are flavorful and juicy. Even more, they’re pretty sizable, so that’s always a plus. The BBQ Bacon and Cheddar was the way to go for me. I would highly, highly recommend getting a side of Smashfries as well. How could anyone go wrong with fries mixed with garlic, olive oil, and rosemary?! Ahhhh perfect. You’ll find yourself still craving them long after you’ve finished the basket.
All in all, I was highly satisfied with my visit here. Quick service with great food at a reasonable price — what more could you ask for? It’s in a pretty convenient location, so who can blame you if you end up grabbing a burger from here once you’ve finished your grocery shopping over at HEB across the street?

Our son wanted to eat here this week, so off we went. I didn’t have high expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. I had a traditional smashburger and it was quite good. The fries were the best part of the meal — they were delicious. The son had chicken nuggets that were also tasty. The place was clean and service friendly.

This location is in a pretty good spot. If you need to do some grocery shopping, there’s HEB across the street. It is also pretty close to 59. With that being said, it does get congested.
But anyhoo, the food…
Great quality food. The burgers were filling and delicious. I went there yesterday because I have been craving a burger. I ordered the Avocado Club burger. Avocados… mmmm. Ranch… mmmm. Meat… mmmmm mmmm. You catch my drift. Smashfries were on point!

When Smashburgers started popping up around town, I was WTF is a smash burger? Sounds gross.
Well, it’s not. At all. IT’S AWESOME.
We stopped in on a Saturday evening as we were out running errands and my husband was starving and was going to die unless he had a burger. I was immediately impressed by the cleanliness of the place and the friendliness of the staff. How many burger joints can you say that about?
I had a regular sized Texas burger, which was delicious and a great portion size for me and a great price! My husband had an avocado club, which he loved. We had some sweet potato fries which we enjoyed as well. Our burgers were delivered very quickly, and I ordered mine to go.
There is plenty of parking out front. Great work, Smashburger! I’ll be back!

I’ve always seen the signs for these locations, and I have a co-​worker that loves Smashburger; however, I’ve never visited or been interested. My first visit was for an Elite Unilocaler even on National Hamburger Day 2014, and I absolutely loved it.
Burgers aren’t usually my thing unless they’re large, local, and «buzzed about.» This place has changed all that. While I have sampled 7 burgers, I absolutely remain stuck on the mushroom truffle burger. The patty mix and buns are absolutely addictive. The meat is also clearly seasoned; I know this as they allowed us to try our hand at preparing burgers…
Beer is also available, so sit for a while and enjoy a consistent burger.

The staff was most impressive, friendly, energetic!
The food was tasty, fresh and YUMMY, sinful and oh so good.
Yes there are salad options and YES there is chicken…
But it says «Burger» on the door.

A RARE treat… but a «treat» none the less.

This was my first time at any Smashburger and this place is not that bad. I got the Classic Smash burger and it was huge. The only thing I didn’t like was whoever prepared it was going in a hurry because it looked sloppy. I told them about it and they made another one for me no extra charge and this time it looked better.
When I went in it was not busy at all, I am guessing the most busy times is lunch time. The place was nice and neat so there is no complaint on the cleanliness.
Time for the taste! The burger was not bad it is not the best burger I tasted but it was good. And the fries are too thin for my taste. I like the fries to be thick so you can enjoy the taste.
Oh well overall Smashburger is a good place and it is worthy to be tried again.

As far as burger joints go, this is like any typical Smashburger. The burgers are good and the Smashfries are even better, but the portion sizes are a bit lacking.
What would I recommend most? The Smashfries, hands down. Tossed with garlic & rosemary, these thin fries are so delicious that I find myself scooping them up at an alarming rate. Most of the burgers turn out the way you expect them to — delicious but not mind-​blowing.
NOTE: I recently ordered the Spicy Baja burger, which comes with guacamole. But if you are thinking about paying the extra $ 1 to add it to another burger, DON’T DO IT. The guac servings at Smashburger are tiny! :(Call me a spoiled Californian, but there was barely enough avocado to even make a difference in the burger. Definitely a rip off. I would add a fried egg instead.
