Smoothie King

It’s hard to give a chain restaurant a bad rating because typically you know what to expect when you go there. My first time at this location. I got a medium passion passport with strawberries added. It was delicious, as usual, and huuuuuge for a medium. Oh. It was also almost $ 8 (oh smoothie king, just why must you do this).
I give them 3 stars because of their location & price. I hadn’t been to this smoothie king before and I drove around the plaza for 10 minutes looking for them until I finally got good directions from another Unilocal review!!! They are in the group of stores across from Ross, attached to the back side of The Children’s Place and facing 610. Thank me later.

Quick to order and have my drink in my hand w/​in minutes.

Manager has an attitude. I been coming here for a year now. It’s the first and last time I have someone yell at me. Especially a manager.

Sure do love me some Smoothie King, but I won’t be going back to this location. ever! Hot Houston summer day (think over 100) and my nephew and I were in need of some refreshments. Too bad it was a Sunday and there was no chance of getting Chick-​fil-​A lemonade. We decided to share a medium Angel Food, which was over $ 7.quite ridiculous I might add. The drive-​thru line is too long so we park and walk in. No one in line, but as we walk up the employee asks us to wait a minute– which ain’t no thang.
I order our smoothie and shell out the $ 7+, but before I sit down I ask for a cup of water while we wait. She tells me it’ll cost me $ 0.27.I’m sorry what did you just say? Are you joking? What establishment doesn’t give a PAYING customer water if asked. I’m sorry, are Dixie cups too pricey these days? I walk away thinking… wtf, but stay cool as I’m with my 10 year old nephew. We sit down and chat when he says «My mom always has them put it into 2 cups so let’s ask them to do that.» «Great idea,» I say and jokingly add, «I bet they charge us.» His response, «they never charge us at the one we go to.» Well low and behold, water hoarder says that’ll be $ 0.27. Really… again with the $ 0.27??? Something tells me the franchise owner or employees are making up their own policies. Smoothie King Meyerland, I am so done with you.

Try the strawberry banana peanut butter w/​o MILK. Amazeballs!

This location usually always gets my smoothie just right! I ordered a strawberry shredder and island impact for my hubby n I. Today they seemed a little sweeter than usual we gave them back and they happily remade them. Because if their cheerfulness and always eager to please attitude I will continue to come here!

I parked across from the drive through window and walked up to place my order.
The «grouchy» woman snapped at me saying it was not for walk up clients and pointed to a half peeled off, faded sign at least 2 feet above my head.
YES, YES, «my» error for missing the sign.
Curious that other Unilocalers have commented on being able to walk up to the drive through.
This employee must NOT be a part of the fun, customer service bunch.
She resides in her grouch trash can.
So, I walked in, placed my order, trying to say something cheerful to ease her mode.
ME…the CUSTOMER tried to ease HER mood.
Backwards.
Anyone. Anyone???
But NO… she was iron clad determined to be rude and disgruntled.
Didn’t ask me what I wanted added to my Smoothie for a boost.
No questions about up selling.
I WILL NOT go here again.

it’s a known smoothie place but OMG, seriously, you just raped me with the price of a smoothie! I was out running errands one day and wanted to grab something quick and refreshing so smoothie it was.
I didn’t have time to really look at the menu when I drove up so I just ordered a strawberry and banana smoothie. The lady over the intercom asked me if that would be a medium and I staggered between saying yes and no but decided sure, why not because I was hungry anyways.
When you drive up to their window it can be a pain. You have to get out of your car to get your smoothie because the window is higher up and you can’t pull your car close enough to their window. SO WEIRD.
The medium here is like a large size. And um, when I looked at my receipt my drink was close to $ 8!!! Argh. The worse part is I didn’t even finish it and I was starving. For that price I could have eaten a good lunch.

Good smoothies, drive-​thru and walk up. Fantastic!

You better be a king to be able to afford this place. It’s tasty, but it comes with a price.

Great after a workout

Pretty fast with service. The drinks are a bit pricey, but hey, sometimes I need the protein drinks in between meals.

The smoothies are great! Service… not so much! I’ve only used the drive-​thru at this location a couple of times, but there’s never a line and it’s still a REALLY long wait. The last time I went, I had to repeat my (simple) order twice at the window. I also observed a lot of goofing off inside the store from my car as I suffered through the long wait. The girl who was blending my smoothie finished, put a lid on it and then proceeded to stand with it in her hand as she laughed and talked to another employee. The funny part was when she handed me the smoothie (finally) she apologized for the wait!!!

Sometimes, one really wants a smoothie, and after a dance class that went long is one of those times. After being denied at Island Grill (my sister and I literally walked up to the door and had it locked in our faces) and finding out that the Whole Foods Bellaire doesn’t have a smoothie bar inside like other Whole Foods, I decided I wouldn’t rest until I had a smoothie in my hand. With the Unilocal app to the rescue, I found that nearby Dan’s Vitamin House was closed (or wouldn’t answer their phone), so Smoothie King it was.
Like Melissa M. pointed out, mercifully, there’s a drive-​through – after 1.75 hours of the cardio on speed that is dance class, I didn’t want to use my feet any more than I had to. I ordered a small Passion Passport, and once we’d been waiting for a fair few minutes I wondered aloud if they knew this wasn’t a REAL passport application. Luckily I didn’t have to affirm I was a citizen of the United States at the drive-​up window once I finally received my smoothie. At just under $ 5 I won’t be making a habit of this, but it’s a nice «sometime» treat.
The smoothie itself was tasty and a «small» is anything but. I honestly can’t think of a single instance in which I would buy a size up. I guess if I was using it as a meal replacement, MAYBE, but there’s only so much creamy, icy goodness one can pack into one’s stomach.
A smoothie fit for a king? Maybe not, but it seems pretty fit for a tired dancer who needs a pick-​me-​up at the end of the day. A-​OK in my book.

I just want a Smoothie. Is that too much to ask? I was heading to the Galleria from Pasadena (don’t ask, I wasn’t there by choice) and I was in need of a smoothie. I love Smoothie King, so I pulled out the iPhone with the Unilocal app. I found a Smoothie King in the Meyerland Plaza. Yeah, you’d think that’d be easy to find, right? NOT. I started to wander around the parking lot looking for it. I went all the way around the giant middle area that has the Target, BBB, bookstore, etc… I couldn’t find the place. I then assumed it had closed. I called and they were open! It’s like you have to know where the secret door to the garden is to find this place. It’s crazy. I finally found them in a small building attached to the Al’s formal wear facing 610. Why were they hiding from me? They hurt my feelings, but they made up for it with a drive through! I just had knee surgery and the drive through made my day. I didn’t have to hobble up to the counter and wait for my smoothie, I could happily sit in my air conditioned car and order.
My order was quickly made and was exactly what I expected. I can’t give them 4 stars because they are just too hidden in plain sight. I’d like to give them 3.5 stars because it’s got the drive through, so it’s a slightly above average Smoothie King.
If you are in Meyerland, don’t let it hide from you. It is there.
