I used to shop at Stein Mart frequently, years ago. I could always find deals on clothes for work that wouldn’t break the bank. For some reason I quit going here; I think it’s because I stopped finding things that suited my tastes. Every once in a while I’d stop in and pick up an item or two: a dress shirt for one of my boys, a gift or perhaps a pair of shoes. Today I came back to Stein Mart after a multiple-year hiatus. I was looking for something specifically in their bedding area, which I was unable to locate. They did, however, have a nice selection of items from sheets to comforters to blankets. I perused around the store, figuring that since I was there I wanted to see if I’d missed anything in the time that I’d been away. The women’s clothing section seems to be a hit-or-miss of mixed items of casual and business-type wear, but primarily for an «older» set. Prices didn’t seem out of line, but I did notice many of the items were made in China. I remember glaringly stopping at one display that had very simple camis displayed(also made in China) on sale: buy one, get one free for $ 9.99. They looked surprisingly like the ones I get at Forever 21 for a fraction of that cost(not on sale). Obviously some deals are good; others maybe not quite so good. The home décor section had a variety of items to choose from: chairs, bowls, decorations, you name it. Prices seemed fairly reasonable, but since I’m not in the market for such things, I really can’t be quite certain. This is much like a mini department store. They have what they have and prices are either decent or no bargain at all. Nothing jumped out at me, that’s for sure. The store is nicely kept and maintained with an adequate amount of check out facilities in the front. I didn’t feel like I had wasted my time visiting here, but I’m not sure I’ll be back again soon. Why? I just don’t see any valid reason to return, that’s all.

My mom has been shopping here for years; making mention of it usually related to holiday shopping. I was out with some family members while in town and wound up here. I loved it. I found many things of interest and even completed my shopping for a wedding gift(made a little bag full of various fun things I knew my cousin would enjoy). There is a little something for everyone here. Wish we had them in San Fran!
