I’ll be as straightforward as possible: Stereo is pretty much the premier option for EDM clubbing in Houston. It’s the only place that consistently has big named DJs, nice interior, diverse crowd, appropriately searches its crowd and checks ids(seems like a silly compliment, but is very relevant), doesn’t enforce ridiculous dress codes(also relevant), polite and respectful bar tenders, etc. My only real complaints is the alcohol is overpriced and lol$ 10 parking. Also, since it’s technically a concert venue(even though it has a show just about every weekend), the crowd and price of show can vary wildly based on who’s playing, but that is to be expected. Same goes for what type of music to expect as this place plays different music depending on who’s night it is. Even during its dead nights it can still get somewhat of a crowd going. The only reason I give this place less than a 5 is this is not a «wing it» type place to where the door charge is usually higher than online and you may not like who’s playing if you didn’t look online, so this place isn’t necessarily a consistently good time, so I highly recommend seeing who’s playing online before just showing up.

Stereo Live is a fine place. I spend my nights with my friends there. This place is for 18+ people. An excellent atmosphere, good music, you will really have fun there. Bathroom are always clean. The whole place has a good look: lasers, led screens. It is always crowded, especially on weekends. People look so different there, you may look everything you want, nobody will care. Drinks are not very expensive. If you have never been there, immediately visit this place.

IT’S LIT. IT’S POPPIN. Well… Depending on what artist is playing. 4 stars because Stereo Live will always play a part in my heart through my college years for all the EDM artists they bring to this venue from Steve Aoki to the Chainsmokers. I have had good nights and bad ones here, and also unFORGETtable nights(emphasis on the forget) and unforgettable nights. There are also many crowded nights, some not so much. There restrooms are booboo, especially the women’s restrooms. Like who even likes waiting in those lines??? But it is what it is. Also, if you ever need a breather, bless their outside patio! I mainly come for EDM events, so mind you. Most of the crowd is full of 18+ half-naked raving youngsters. So if you’re older, you may or may not feel out of place during these events. If you want to avoid all the pushing, I always found that standing towards the back was still as enjoyable to listen and dance to the music. Buy tickets online when they come out! Bring anywhere from $ 10 – 20 cash for parking!

We(husband and I) came here from out of town and had a great time! Tips: Bring cash for parking because using a card is awkward, go the window for tickets, go to the line for wristbands, go to the dance floor to dance. Loved that they were handing out brandy samples when we walked in. I felt welcomed! This place is an 18+ club, so there were lots of 18 – 20 year olds. They were cool and respectful, but mostly stayed to themselves. If you’re over 45, this place could feel super awkward. I’m sure the fun is dependent on the DJ that shows up. When we were there we got to enjoy 2 different DJs; the first was struggling to stay on beat but his enthusiasm still got the crowd going. The last DJ was AWESOME! Lots of fun! Thank you for a solid, dance-filled, drama-free night!

LOL they threaten to kick me out because I gave them an attitude when they denied my ID, saying it doesn’t look like me. They asked about what my zodiac sign is, and I thought he was kidding because he kept a casual conversation with me so I didn’t respond and he asked if it was my ID, I responded jokingly that it belonged to my mom. I guess he has no humor and directed me to another security guy. Who then comes and asks me when my ID was made? Who the hell remembers that kind of stuff. I can tell you my birthday, address, show my credit cards(which they didn’t care to look at when I offered it), or go ahead and scan my ID. I even offered to show my last name tattooed on my body. Seriously. Yet they let my boyfriend with a Louisiana ID go in without a problem. However for my cousin that’s from North Carolina, they made her call her sister to send a picture of her birth certificate at 12:30AM for proof. I only give 2 stars because this is currently the only place in Houston that host EDM events.

Been hitting this spot up since I was 18, which wasn’t that long ago I’m only 23. The first time was cool but it got old very quick. It’s a pretty generic music venue nothing special. One bartender tried giving me a lot less change than he should have when i gave him a $ 100 thinking I was not going to notice but I did and called him out. Can’t hold that against the venue though bartenders everywhere try scams… they don’t have much competition YET, but when they do their screwed. Another thing is its 18+ so you have high school kids running around on drugs everywhere which is weird. But they monopoly the DJ’s so you don’t have much of a choice to go anywhere else to see someone when they come to town, but I did see Above and Beyond at Bayou Music Center last March and it kicked Stereo’s ass.

This place is awesome. I always manage to have a good time every time I go no matter what! Always brings some good DJs and I feel super safe there with the amount of security. I love the environment and the vibes, everyone there is just down to have a good time! I also love that you can literally wear whatever you want, and nobody cares or judges lol! I just always so much fun! If you don’t like loud loud music, bass, crowds, girls in their bras and underwear or less, and edm or dubstep music, don’t bother coming here lol! It’ll be as fun as you make it! One thing I do suggest, is to pay for parking, don’t park in the street… I did once and every car on that street got broken into, and they stole everything from everyone’s car, including my friends college textbooks lol. It has happened to many of my friends since then too. I know it’s just more you have to pay for, but trust me it’s worth it!

Whoaaaaa. I can feel the bass move through the hairs on my arm, and I’m not a furry human that needs to shave my arms and back hair on a regular basis. #tmisorry …The bass is strong with this one. Watch mostly-naked kids outside shuffle around the dance floor. Man, I feel old compared to how young some of these kids look. LED screens, lasers, cold air, and confetti are all pretty fab here. Space is nice and big for a comfortable experience even if you didn’t get a table. Bathroom is kinda grody but mostly clean. Kinda goes with the rest of the club– not an upscale Vegas club. Just an unremarkable space that has fantastic effects when the headliner comes on. Pretty fun venue for Houston, and you can pull a totally affordable bottle service on Thursday night.

I love this place. This is my to-go-to spot for EDM shows in Houston, as NightCulture brings in the biggest names to Houston to this venue. As far as the people who come here, I’ve only had one bad experience where people were being jerks, but all the other times I’ve come here, it’s been good times, good vibes, and I’ve made some pretty awesome friends from being here. They have a pretty awesome stereo system going, and their lasers are also at the top of the line for a place like Houston. I actually always look forward to coming to Stereo, because I know that I will have a good time with either really close friends or make new friends. Good vibes all around!

This venue was alright. I came here for 4th of July. All the DJ’s kind of sucked. They were playing some outdated ass tracks. Drinks were overpriced & they suck at making mixed drinks. The crowd was weird. Mostly hippies & old ass people.

Stereo live used to be my favorite dance club Back in the days. The DJ used to come out right at 11pm and would play until 2am and sometime later however that is no longer the case. Nowadays the man DJ doesnt come out until midnight or later. The last show I went to was for Yellowclaw and I was more than disappointed. I got to stereo at 11pm and waited until 12:30 am before the actual dj started playing and it was over right at 2am. Night culture aka stereo live is a total rip off.

Perfect venue for all of my EDM needs. Staff does their job, the set up is nice, there is usually a line to get in but that’s normal for DJ events.

Went to a Markus Schulz show. It was ok. The venue seems a bit behind the times as far as lighting.(Don’t know if it was the venue or DJ who provides the lighting. Either way the lights sucked.) I find it funny they wouldn’t let me take in eye drops but they were letting people in with hula hoops, masks, glow sticks, flash lights etc. Bathrooms and drinks were easy. Drinks are typical club price. Crowd seems behaved although I can’t tell you how many times I felt hands in my back pockets while bunched up in the crowd. Saw people in age ranging from 18 to over 40. First time tip: Don’t dress to impress. Wear something light. The more bizarre your outfit, the better. Leave valuables at home. Get tickets early. VIP is the second floor which provides a view but it’s not where the action is. Overall, there is a lot of room for improvement. I compare this to other EDM venues I have been to in other countries. Everyone is on something here so I don’t think anyone notices.

I love this venue for their shows! It’s the perfect size and design for a night out — doesn’t get too crowded, and there are multiple areas depending on your preference. The main stage inside has an amazing speaker system(which they like to bring up in their commercial texts), and their big screen super clear and high quality. Another shoutout to their speaker system — this is one of the few places where I’ll wake up the next morning with normal hearing. Most other places, it’ll take two or so days before the ringing goes away(yeah, yeah, I know it’s terrible for my ears, I’m completely expecting early-onset hearing loss by age 30). In addition to the main area, there’s also an outdoor patio with a separate DJ, so if you want to take a break, you can go chill outside. They have benches, chairs, and tables in that area, and it’s a pretty good size. I believe the upstairs area is just tables, but I’ve never been. Why pay $ 200+ to go upstairs and sit when you can just spend the entire night dancing?

Stereo Live is one of the main concert/event venues in Houston when it comes to EDM, Hip Hop, etc. I have been coming here since it was Bar Rio and absolutely enjoyed the insane memories back then. They’ve updated their lights, sound system, lasers, etc. The upstairs on certain nights are for VIPs who get to enjoy an aerial view of the stage and the dance floor down below. There are 3 main VIP sections facing the stage and other smaller booths around the top area. There is also a separate bathroom, lounge room, and bar upstairs. The outdoor patio has a nice graffiti area people can hang out and take a break from dancing. There is an outdoor bar and 3 bar areas inside on the first floor. I do have to complain that drink prices have gone up and every bartender charges a different price for the same drink. I’ve paid $ 7 – 10 for a jack and coke. You get lucky if you get a single glass but most of the time drinks come in those small plastic cups I always feel shortened. I don’t enjoy the security check upon entering the venue this seems to have recently been implemented because I don’t remember this process last year. I do have to say I miss going to Rich’s before all the managment changed and things moved to Stereo Live those were the golden days.

This is the probably the only good venue for EDM(Electronic Dance Music) scene here in Houston. However, this doesn’t mean it is one of the best venue in the US. First of all, they have a parking lot but you have to pay $ 10 for parking. Then you also have to know that their security is almost on par with TSA as they will check your ID, check your purse, pat you down, make you open your wallet, etc. All of this to make sure you are not bringing in any contrabands of any kind. Once you’re in, the venue is separated in certain areas as there’s always the big main stage area with VIP booth on 2nd floor where you can buy bottle service for your EDM needs. There’s bars on the left and the right of the main stage and there’s also an outdoor area for smokers and ravers to dance outside. The drink price is typical on the high side and most of the time, it will be very crowded like any EDM events. If you’re into EDM, you will certainly have a great time here. Every now and then they would go past 2AM(except the sales of alcohol) so you can pretty much party all night long.

Stereo Live was never at the top of my lists of nightclubs to go to. Maybe it’s because I wasn’t as crazed about the whole EDM hype as the rest of my peers now a days. Or maybe its the number of weird people who wear close to nothing on their bodies and like to squeeze close and rub their disgusting sweat all over you on the dance floor. But I’ll have to admit, it has become a hot spot for nightlife in the past year or so, with all the well known EDMDJ’s they have been inviting to play at the venue. Most people, including myself, don’t enjoy paying for cover at clubs or bars. Most places in Houston don’t charge cover, and those that do, never go above $ 10 per person. Stereo, however, charges you well above $ 10 for most of their so called«concerts». But I’ll never understand why they call them concerts when the«DJ’s» on the stage are just streaming either other people’s music, or music they pre-recorded — from their lap top. There is nothing«live» at all about their performance. If we can even call it a performance. All clubs are automatically equipped with a DJ, so why must we pay extra for something that is standard for a club? And then you’ve got the insanely high priced drinks that cost $ 11 – 13. And sometimes the same drink at one bar can cost a dollar or two extra at a different bar. I guess I like the fact that they have 3 bars downstairs, 2 bars upstairs, and a bar outside on the patio, so there is never a long wait for drinks. But we already paid to get in, so why is there a need to overcharge your drinks? Recently they have replaced and upgraded their entire sound system, and could not be more proud of it. But I, however, am knocking off a star for it. Why? Because it’s TOO. FREAKIN. LOUD. I have been to Stereo Live plenty of times before they replaced the sound system, but my ears have never rang this bad before. Not until recently, right after the upgrade. I don’t know about other people, but to me, blasting louder music to the point where it hurts your ears doesn’t make the music better. Nor will I enjoy myself even more.

I have been seeing DJ’s spin here for quite sometime now and it has changed a lot since my last visit. I remember back in the day when this place was T-Town. LOL! Dang I just showed my age. I was here this past weekend for Marcus Shultz and was pleasantly surprised at how great the lights, stage etc were set up. The bathrooms were even super clean considering what a large venue this is. I love that they still have the outdoor area so you can let your ears take a break from the deafening bass. They most definitely have a very extensive list of people who tour here now and that is extremely appealing to me. It gives me a chance every so often to go back and revisit my youth. The crowd is definitely younger but if you have partied in this scene for the past 10 years or so you will see some old familiar faces. Some of us still have the hunger for the beat, this is where you will find it.
