The picture says everything. And on top of that the employee sat on the counter where they make their sandwiches. Can you say«Ew»!

I’m in the Heights several times a week around lunch or dinner time, and when I need something quick and relatively healthy, this is a natural choice. I’ve now been coming to this location for about two years and as of yesterday, I am done with it. They are often out of spinach, which I prefer instead of lettuce because it tastes better, has more nutritional value, and doesn’t have that preservative aftertaste. They are next to a Kroger, so I don’t understand why they don’t just get more spinach when they’re out! Their tomatoes ALWAYS look anemic. Very often, their sweet tea is not sweet at all because some employee forgot to add the sugar. Worst of all, though, the employees are either inept or rude. Yesterday, three of them were gathered around the cash register counting out coins as my spouse and I stood there waiting to order before going to a meeting. They didn’t apologize at all nor explain that they’d be with us in a moment. Then, in the midst of our ordering, the three of them proceeded to discuss very loudly the shortfall of their cash count. It sounded like an argument. so I said, «Could you all please discuss this later?» With that, the one who is or was apparently the manager, yelled at me. Yes, she YELLED at me, her customer. I simply repeated my request. All this while, two teenage boys were playing a game of coin toss in the dining area, literally throwing loose change around the place and cutting up loudly. I later determined that these were the manager’s sons, because when her shift ended, they all left together and boarded a minivan parked in front of the restaurant. Yes, the prime parking space. Very poor customer service. This incident is not isolated. It has been building. I have called and left messages for the owner, who has yet to call me back. So, I’m now sending the clearest messages I can think of: taking my business elsewhere and posting negative reviews.

First off, I am(still) a HUGE Subway fan/snob who eats there 3−5x per week. I have had hit-miss experiences at this location in the past. Complaints include VERY loud music and servers unable to follow directions and/or have bad attitudes. This morning I finally decided to Unilocal about it. While shopping I stopped by for breakfast at this location. Server first said that she didn’t have spinach(It was right in front of her) there is a mysterious $ 0.30 charge that she could not explain, she had no one dollar bills so I got a dollar of my change in dimes and finally the coffee was cold. When I told her about the coffee, she neither offered to make more or refund my money, but simply to put it in the microwave. Pitiful performance guys. If this starts to happen more, I may be changing to Quiznos. There is a much better Subway on Heights at I-10. Will be only going there when in the Heights.

The Sandwich Artist was slow to make the sandwiches and spoke extremely softly. The bread was flimsy, the sauce was somewhat bland, and I couldn’t even taste the pepperoni. Definitely the worst Subway I’ve ever been to.

I’m a fan of this particular Subway because it’s close to my job, the crew is always smiling and they recognize the regulars. They’re usually very busy between 11AM and 2PM, but they are quick and usually have plenty of employees working to help the crowd. One problem: Their credit card machine doesn’t always work, so bring cash just in case.

It’s new, so everything looks great. The bad side to new is that it takes longer. I’m just glad I have another place to eat within walking distance.
