Me and my fiancé decided to try Table 19 for brunch. We were a little confused as to how the restaurant operated — Do you seat yourself, do you wait, or do you order at the back counter where the registers are. Finally, we were greeted by a super friendly waitress who invited us to seat ourselves. We both ordered the chicken and waffles. After about 30 minutes, we realized our food still hadn’t come out. Still, we waited patiently and continued our conversation. Our waitress did come by and let us know that our food would be out shortly. We appreciated the heads up! The food finally arrived and we were not impressed. My finance’s chicken was black-brown burnt, mine was ok. The waffle could have been cooked longer but I understand this is personal preference. I can handle«ok» food but this is what made me frown. As I wrapped up my meal, I noticed something moving in contrast to my white napkin on my lap. To my surprise… it was a spider crawling down from the table towards my lap. Yikes! Overall, the service is fantastic and the food is just ok for the price they’re asking.

I agree with the other negative reviews and never even received my food. Only difference is I waited an hour. There was a complete indifference from the staff and owners. Only when I got up to leave did the server express any concern. Too little too late. I’m very patient when it comes to honest mistakes, but this was just complete carelessness. There is nothing they can do to get me to return. Too many good restaurants in the Heights and surrounding areas with people who actually care about your business.

I like this place for a simple Sunday brunch. Yesterday was my second time going and the french toast w/a side of bacon didn’t disappoint. I’m afraid to venture off and try something else on the menu because I’ve already found something I love so I’ll stick with it. I’m giving it 4 stars because it took a long time for the food to come out but I overheard a waiter say they were short a cook. I understand; it gave me more time to catch up with my friend.

I disagree with all positive reviews. Do not waste your $. The breakfast nachos were just a plate of tostitos chips topped with hard overcooked scrambled eggs and sprinkled black beans… for $ 7? Really? The eggs Benedict the other party ordered were gross. The service sucked. The to-go order of a simple breakfast– 2 eggs, bacon, toast & potatoes took 42 minutes to be ready. The taste was also disappointing, potatoes were dry, appeared old and reheated, and it took that long to cook? The hipster look is the only thing that ties this establishment with the rest of the heights spots. Not food, not service. Will not return.

I liked this place a lot more when it was Pie in the Sky. The food is great and the ambiance is nice and pretty laid back, but the service is incredibly slow. It wasn’t worth the wait for me.

Great food but the service sucks. There were only a couple of tables but it seemed our young, hipster waiter was a bit overwhelmed. There were 5 of us. 3 meals came out complete. The missing eggs and waffle didn’t show up for another half hour. They didn’t charge is for them but still. Overall it’s a nice place with good quality food at a good price. Their service needs work. Get ready to wait for your food.

Food and ambiance was good. The server was apparently new and needs more training. I’d be willing to come back and give them a second chance to wow me. I got the stuffed French toast and my husband got the pecan pie and coffee.

My boyfriend and I ordered the breakfast nachos and an omelet which were cold and not filling at all. This brunch place is mediocre at best. In my opinion there are better places in the heights for your money.

We weren’t very happy with the food. The chicken in the chicken and waffle was good and flavorful however the waffle had a weird taste. The eggs benedict were blah at best, although the asparagus were on point. We did enjoy the coffee drinks, however I don’t see us coming back

I went here for lunch and was very happy with my experience. I got the half a sandwich & side combo. The club was good and big for a half and salad was good. We also got a side of fried okra and it was really really good. We were all stuffed after our meal but just couldn’t pass up pie so we got some to go. I had the bumbleberry and I am in love. I will definitely be back here and will try out the brunch as well. Also, our server was great! She was friendly and answered all our questions. Some of the best service I have had in awhile!

The best breakfast in the heights. the omlettes are light and full of goodies The pancakes are light and fluffy and you can have fruit and pecans. My husband likes to have blueberry waffles with eggs and bacon. They even will grill me a hamburger patty in place of bacon. Then there is the great coffee and fresh brewed tea. This is our new Sunday place

So, Table 19 used to be Pie in the Sky. It’s hard to live up to that, but they’re trying. The new décor isn’t super inviting — it just looks kind of unfinished. But onto the more important part… the food. Since they’ve changed, I’ve only been in once. I had the half sandwich/soup combo. The club was really tasty and a lot of sandwich for just a half. I paired it with tomato basil soup and was pleased. The prices seem a little high for what you get on other items but this combo was on point. They still get their pie from Pie in the Sky and serve it with Blue Bell. Try the bumbleberry… it’s my all time favorite from anywhere! To be honest, it’s possible that the same people own the place. Something just feels different here than before.

This place is awesome! Staff is friendly and attentive. Food is totally great! We visit T-19 every week, it’s the best! As for Janet R’s review. I remember her. I was sitting at the table next to her and her husband. Her husband was fine with the food and was pleasant. She on the other hand was a bit bitter and bitchy. Yes, the place was packed, so a wait time was expected. Her husband apologized for his wife’s actions. She was just one of those people that would not be happy unless she was the Queen of England. I remember her well because she was put out that the gay guy sat next to her. Oh, yes, the staff did apologize to this very rude and unfriendly woman. If it was my place, I’d of prolly kicked her out or given her a $ 20.00 up charge for putting up with her.

Table 19 is one of the best spots in the Heights for breakfast, lunch or brunch! They have a great menu that features an assortment of breakfast items, salads, burgers, sandwichs and speciality items such as their quiche and homemade pot pie. Very clean, always friendly, fast service and a casual atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy a conversation and meal. If you are wanting a quick bite to eat, not your place, Table 19 is focused around providing fresh meals, a good atmosphere and great service, but don’t expect to be in and out in 30 minutes. My number one choice from the menu is the quiche, but if you don’t go early you will miss out. They make them fresh daily and when they sell out for the day that’s it. Definitely worth waking up an extra 30 minutes for!

Table 19 is not nearly as bad as some of the reviews here seem to indicate. There is certainly room for improvement, but overall an enjoyable spot for breakfast, brunch, or an early lunch. I am not that familiar with Pie in the Sky, though they still sell the pies here. The place is very bare bones with an open sitting area, some nicknacks on the wall, as well as to the left of the dinning area. The service seems a little confused at times. I visited right after they stopped serving breakfast, and hardly anybody was here. For the most part I was the only person here, except for the people just closing out when I walked through the door. After the server took my drink order(just ice tea), I saw her poor the drink, then disappear into the kitchen for a long while. Instead of giving the only customer the drink ordered, she was nowhere to be seen. This happened throughout my visit, and three people walked in, in that time span. Then, after no service showed up, they all left one by one. Anyway, after she took my food order, she disappeared again. Only to reappear a little while later with my food. Is she the server, bus boy, and kitchen staff all in one? That would not surprise me, and seems like she works her ass off. Though that is not very efficient, and seemed to have cost the place at least three customers during my lunch. On to the food… Of coarse the typical breakfast options. Omelets, French Toast, etc. Salads and sandwiches for lunch. Some different coffee options as well. I ended up with the Kirby Caprese sandwich. Sun dried tomato pesto, lettuce, tomato, and goat cheese spread. With sweet potato fires. The fries were just average. The sandwich was good. The goat cheese and pesto are awesome. Though both are fairly watery(like good, fresh mozzarella, goat cheese seems to retain more water than other cheeses), which destroys the bread. I did not see this listed as a salad, though I think the sandwich would be much better as a salad. With some crunchy croutons in place of the soggy bread. They do specials throughout the week. Chicken and Waffles, and sometimes Shrimp & Grits on the weekend. Something I definitely need to check out. Overall, a good spot that I will be sure to check out again. They need to improve a bit in some areas, but I am willing to give them some more tries.

Pie in the Sky sign still on the building so when we sat at our table & noticed the new name we weren’t sure if we should stay. Went for a birthday lunch, anticipating our favorite PITS appetizer(fried green beans). Got explanation why no longer PITS& said ok we’ll give it a try. 1 word — DISAPPOINTED! Fried green beans came after our lunch order & definitely NOT the same. GBeans were overcooked, so wilted & cold. SHOCKED about the daily sandwich special, $ 15, we didn’t know how expensive until we got our bill, $ 15 for a croissant with grilled onions & a little steak with barely any goat cheese/pesto spread!!! OMG what $ 15 could have gotten us somewhere else!!! Waiter was RUDE to the birthday girl, sat behind the register & never walked around to refill drinks, REALLY, it wasn’t like they were packed. All(4) of us agreed we WILLNOT go back.

My first experience here was great! My husband ordered the stuffed French toast(tastes like heaven!) & I ordered the build-your-own-omelette with sides of fruit, toast & potatoes(delicious!) We were weekend regulars at Pie in The Sky… looks like we found our new favorite weekend brunch spot! Can’t wait to come back & try more tasty treats!

Let me first start by saying my co-workers and I were loyal patrons of «Pie in the Sky». There was a point in time where we would frequent this place weekly. The building still boasts the name«Pie in the Sky» on the side, don’t let that fool you. They are now called Table 19. There is a tiny little chalk board that reads«Table 19» out front. The staff is no longer the same with the exception of the cook who is now apparently the owner. We were slightly hesitant but went in anyways and were delighted to see that they still had the«Pie in the Sky» menu. We consulted with the owner and she stated that they were basically still the same but were making some changes. She reassured me that our beloved fried green beans were still on the menu. The owner placed our green bean order along with our drinks and then came back to take our food order. When our food came out before our appetizer one person from my party mentioned it to our waiter who snidely replied«well I only have two hands». All 4 jaws dropped at this statement. I ordered the ½ tuna sandwich along with a cup of tomato basil soup. The soup was watery and tasted like burnt basil, my sandwich was less than spectacular and my tuna was overly mayoed. I didn’t touch but one bite of my soup and asked at the end to have it removed from the bill. So I basically paid $ 5 for ½ of an overly mayoed tuna fish sandwich I could have had at home or gotten at that place that boasts $ 5 foot loooongs. Two co-workers ordered the coffee rubbed steak sandwich that promised pesto and creamy goat cheese. Both said that it was lacking flavor and were curious as to where the pesto went. This went for $ 15 which seems to be pretty steep for a lunch sandwich. We could have gone to a fancy steak place for lunch at this price. The price of the sandwich was NOT listed anywhere but we didn’t expect anything over $ 10 – 12. 4th co worker ordered the Marlene’s bowl with chicken salad, she was pleased. Good to know somethings stay the same. Our green beans seemed old and not as fresh as usual. They came out luke warm. Our waiter was extremely inattentive and rude. We never received drink refills, and he actually looked over at our table quite frequently and ignored us. The same person who mentioned the green beans to him also gave him some feed back when he asked how everything was. He said he would«have it taken care of». No apologies were ever made and we left feeling like we got ripped off. I understand that the new manager is a cook but she needs some serious lessons in customer service and in making sure her patrons are taken care of. Total bill for 4 people at lunch was a little over $ 55.00. We didn’t bother leaving at tip because quite frankly with a $ 15.00 steak sandwich, crappy service and a really mediocre meal the only tip I have for them is GETYOURACTTOGETHER! So don’t be fooled. Even though the talk is that«they are the same with a few changes» that«Pie in the Sky» vibe has gone out the door and now so are their customers and we won’t be coming back.

Pie in the Sky has gone to greener pastures as a caterer to places like Buc-ee’s. But the owner still has a lease on 19th street, so is continuing the business at that location, but with someone else running the restaurant(and still selling her pies). Cheerful, eager-to-please workers seek to continue her success. Menu is the same old one for now, but I was told it will change slightly. Breakfast: French toast, which is served like a sandwich, with strawberries and cream cheese in the middle, and strawberries on top with whipped cream. I felt the toast did not have enough egg in it, was too soft, and I do not like the cream cheese(others do, I guess). I thought the menu said blueberries, but the restaurant is in transition, so ask questions about the menu items.(that run-on sentence is symbolic of the French Toast assembly) Bacon and Cappuccino were good. Reminds me of the Steely Dan song«Hey 19»( ), but with these modified lyrics: Way back when, in twenty twelve Pie in the Sky was the dandy pie Sweet things from Houston So fresh and filling Moved up to catering Where the heck is your pie Hey nineteen No we can’t eat together We can’t match the good times No we can’t gulp at all Please take me along When you go to Buc-ee’s Hey nineteen That’s the smell of pie crust They don’t remember the aroma of soul It’s hard times befallen dessert desirers She think’s I’m crazy But I’m just growin’ old Hey nineteen Now we got nothin’ in common We can’t dance together No we can’t gulp at all Please take me along When you go to Buc-ee’s Sure smelled good Cook a little, sell a little The carbs were gold The fine Columbian(coffee) Make this morning a wonderful thing Say it again The carbs were gold The fine Columbian(coffee) Make this morning a wonderful thing The carbs were gold The fine Columbian(coffee) Make this morning a wonderful thing Now we can’t dance together Now we can’t talk at all
