Suddath Relocation Systems

Very dishonest. Avoid.
I was so hoping this experience would be better given some of the positive reviews but not even close! I hired Suddath United in late 2015 for my move from Houston to Wash. DC. They estimated a price based on a shipping weight that was estimated by them at ~3,200 lbs. This seemed high as was much higher than two other estimates. They seemed legit and indicated that if the actual shipping weight was lower they’d reimburse to make up for differences. The contract described this reimbursement too. What a joke this turned out to be. The United driver texted me the measured weight at ~2650 lbs and added that he wasn’t surprised.
So, now, Suddath is unwilling to honor this agreement and reimburse me for the lower weight! They said that some kind of mistake was made in the calculation. It is a difference of over 500 lbs and their explanation was completely shifty and impossible to comprehend. And, the thing of it is that even though it was a large weight difference the reimbursement would be a relatively small amount of $$ compared to the price of the move. In addition, a couple of chairs were damaged (minor) as they were in a hurry due to poor time mngt. They also left my place a big mess with soda bottles, trash, etc. that they didn’t bother to pick up.
The coordinator of the move said she would have her supervisor call me concerning weight-​gate. That was 2 weeks ago. No call. I also filed a complaint with the BBB. No response.
They are shaping up to be just like the many other slimy moving companies out there. I can’t imagine how they would screw someone over if the stakes were higher. Actually feel kinda fortunate in that way, but still!!! I’ll have to move again in year or so and will definitely not use Suddath or United. Hope this helps.

1. Consultation representative tours home, gives rate, informs me on how the move will go.
2. Day before move, phone call to tell me what time movers will arrive.
3. Moving Crew arrives on time
4. Moving crew is amazing — Asking me how I’d like each room set-​up and if they can be of more service.
5. Not one scrap, dent or bruise to the new house or the contents delivered.
6. Completely professional attitudes and workmanship.
7. Call back from company to see if there was anything else they could do after the movers had left.
The Suddath crew made a stressful and strenuous day a breeze. Just label your boxes with contents and room destination and all you will be doing is unpacking belongings within a foot of it’s intended destination. They even moved my heavy BBQ grill, minus the Propane, to the second level rear balcony.
I will be a returning customer and will definitely recommend Suddath to all my freinds and family.
