I ordered the Pechuga Monterrey, it was really good, I forgot to take a picture! Lol I come here almost every week, I recommend the Tacos al Carbon.

Sub-par at best. Fajitas were cooked hours before, small portions and cheap meat. The service was good, no complaints about the service just the food.

If we want to be reminded of the Rio Grande Valley restaurants that we so fondly remember, we come to this place. Wonderful Texas/Mexico border-type food. We have never been disappointed and we always come back. Their salsa verde is to die for and I would love to get that recipe!

The food is good and the service is great… Nice flavor only downside it’s in a not so great part of town. but if for some reason you find yourself in the area go by. You’ll be satisfied…

I’ve lowered my rating, as, I think that a dive(sorry, but it’s a dive) joint with good food should be cheap. They’ve raised their prices, for no good reason. Same food, same décor, just a 30% higher price. I went from once or twice a week to I may never go back… TV is always on Mex soaps during lunch…

This place has saved my life many a time I’ve been stuck out here without breakfast/lunch/dinner. I work on the northside and the only options are mainly fast food joints or Luby’s. El Dorado is right around the corner and the counter girl who is always there, is efficient and courteous. The food is cheap and comparable to Ruchi’s or Taqueria Tapatia, before I quit them and now just go to Ruchi’s – but that’s a whole ‘nother review. The huevos con papas breakfast tacos have nicely seared(if that’s possible. maybe it’s the grill grease?), generous portions of scrambled eggs and potatoes. Just two of these in a flour tortilla and you are set for the morning. Another El Dorado standard for me are the shrimp quesadillas in corn tortillas: grilled shrimp encased in a gooey white cheese, the tortilla edges rendered just slightly crispy from the grill. I top the quesadillas, and practically anything I get from here with the green salsa. It appears to be made with tomatillos and avocado, is smooth and creamy and will make you break out in a sweat, it’s so spicy. Good food and good value from da northside.
