We came in and ordered drinks Togo, got a black milk tea, honey green tea with lychee, and honeydew milk tea. Getting them as large drinks were an additional 1 $ each. We all got them 2⁄3 less sweet and they came out perfect. The girl who took our order was cute and sweet. Seemed like she recently just started. Our 3 large drinks were roughly 15 $ in total.

Staff was extremely nice. We luckily went during happy hour and their crawfish roll was excellent. I highly recommend the beef stone bowl. Meat and rice was delicious. Thumbs up to this place.

Food is horrible! Not sure how this place is still in business with the quality of food they serve. Ramen is bad, sushi is bad, everything is just bad bad bad. We got two rolls that had no fish in it and somehow it still smelled really fishy. I couldn’t even finish the piece I had in my mouth and had to spit it out. Parking is ridiculous on the weekends.

The sushi and appetizers I order tasted good and came out fast. The are not a lot of waiters who are available. They were all near the bar taking with each other and earring pap johns pizza lol! Made me wonder if I should be eating sushi or order pizza

They just restarted their sushi menu and I would say that it is definitely worth coming here for! For those who are on a budget, the non-specialty sushi are priced from $ 3 – 11. I HIGHLY recommened their Westheimer Roll! Definitely one of the best sushi I ever had. What I appreciate about their sushi is that they really stuff their sushi with the seafood/veggies, etc. and not half of the thing being all rice. Their spider roll isn’t the best I’ve had but they really do put the whole soft shell crab as stated in their menu. Their agedashi tofu is also really good. A lot better than what I have had at other locations. Shrimp bisque isn’t something I would’ve expected from Tea Bar, but I have no regrets from trying it Same for their pork belly S/O to helpful, friendsly servers– Alex and Jessica!

Wow — some of the best sashimi & nigiri I’ve ever had! We came here because they are open late on weeknights, and ordered the mackerel nigiri, a specialty sashimi roll with tuna, goat cheese, and apple slices(AMAZING, MUSTTRY see picture), and the Westhiemer roll(simple and delicious). Prices: simple rolls ~$ 4-$ 6, speciality rolls ~12-$ 15, wine ~$ 6 for glass of house wine Atmosphere: casual, small, intimate, modern and very clean They also have great noodle dishes that I didn’t try but am looking forward to! Something on the menu for everyone.

This was my first time there and was definitely disappointed. I was expecting a better menu but one of the pages was crossed out with masking tape. Not too appealing to see a crossed out page on the menu. We ordered tonkotsu ramen and it wasn’t good, the broth was bland and watery. The pork belly rice bowl was decent but the meat could’ve been sliced thinner. The snapper with truffle oil was fresh but I couldn’t taste any truffle oil. We were going to order dessert but wasn’t too fond of the choices: shaved ice, tiramisu and something else. The place needs some improvement but the atmosphere is cute and the tea was good!

Tea bar offers an amazing assortment of fresh teas and juices. It is what makes this food destination so unique and fun to visit. They have one of the tastiest tea selections I have ever experienced and their fruit smoothies are hard to resist especially the lychee ones. If you appreciate tea you will not be disappointed here. Their food is also very solid and tasty. I can’t say their food is a 5 but its definitely good. I always find the staff to be quite friendly and the atmosphere very chill. I definitely recommend you try this place out.

I came to tea bar for the first time for their creamed iced green tea. It wasn’t too sweet and the tea was nicely brewed you can definitely taste the caffeine and green tea notes. I’m not sure if it was heavy whipped cream on top or ice cream but it was definitely the perfect compliment. I saw a sign they had crawfish for $ 5.99 a pound which sounds like a good deal. I would definitely come back for crawfish, ramen, and sushi! The ambiance was modern and upscale but not too fancy. A nice place to hang out with friends to eat drink and catch up.

UPDATE: Oh no! Did they change owners? Now their tapioca drinks are not good at all. The pearls are so tasteless. I am so sad since I was really rooting for them. OLDREVIEWFROM6MONTHSAGO: I have always liked their tapioca drinks. However, their food is average and very small portions at a high price. I did not like their sushi at all. Sushi doesn’t taste very good here like its a lower grade quality. I have also tried their appetizers, and nothing was spectacular. Luckily I like their drinks so I continue to come. But seriously, either lower the price or increase the food portions. You cannot get somewhat full here unless you add a large tapioca drink. Also, they need to keep areas such as the restrooms cleaner. Both soap dispensers do not work, and it was dimly lit in the restroom I could hardly see. I hope to see some improvements soon because I do want them to succeed.

Thank goodness for groupon offers, and although I’m not sure how to go about using high technology like groupon, my boyfriend did and got us this wonderful offer! He invited me here to celebrate my birthday and it truly was a remarkable dinner. The atmosphere of this restaurant threw me into a continuous loop of relaxation and smooth thoughts. Very nice interior, exterior, ladies restroom and the restaurant itself. Even the silverware, plates, and view was hitting it. Usually when your dating someone for less than 5 years, they don’t tend to treat you out to a fancy eatery, but I was flattered by it. The sushi selection was off the wall and it was so many to choose from. I’m just glad I wasn’t being too indecisive about it. I ordered the seafood miso soup and it was dang delicious, it had all kinds of sea critters in it and they tasted yummy. The sushi itself was on point good, it didn’t taste as if it was that prepared HEB stuff, but as if they actually handmade rolled it up and made it. My water glass was refreshingly fresh and not that tap water gritty taste. Speaking of our view, we sat near the bar area in front of the aquarium and watched all the fishes swim back and forth around their habitat. So cute! The staff was calm, cool, and collectively nice. Well groomed, dressed, and clean. Thank goodness that Groupon paved the way, if not this place would have broken our banks. Very clean ladies restroom. Good parking easy in and easy out without scraping someone else’s vehicle.

This is the best milk tea in town. The name has said it all: organic and fresh! I come all the time in the Bellaire location for their oolong milk tea. The milk tea here is as good as the one in Bellaire. As for the food, …it’s a total surprise! The ramen is legit!!! The egg is just right, the broth is rich and flavorful and the portion is big! It was delicious and the price is right! I also order the tea bar roll. It was really good. I was so full that day so I couldn’t finish it. I had 4 pieces left and I ate it straight out from the refrigerator and the rice is still soft, the taste is still fresh!!! I am a little disappointed that they temporary don’t serve sashimi but I can’t wait to come back for their ramen!!!

This is a decent Asian restaurant in the Galleria area. It’s fancier than the Chinatown location but casual at the same time. There’s a study room in the back that not many people know about but it’s a good spot. As far as the food goes: — Pork belly bowl(7⁄10): pork belly is grilled well, the rice could use something else in it, cant really put my finger on what it’s missing though — Popcorn chicken(8⁄10): the popcorn chicken here comes in 2 flavors, I recommend the original — Frozen cream green tea: my favorite drink here, the honey green milk tea is good as well — Uni carbonara: I haven’t personally tried this dish but I’ve heard good things from my friends **parking is not easy on weekend nights, very few self-park spots but valet parking is complimentary

If you come here, you should try the SEAFOODHOTSTONEBOWL. It has shrimp and scallops. The scallops were moist and flavored just right. If you want your rice to be crispier then leave the rice in the stone pot for about 5 minutes before mixing it. The bowl comes out sizzling hot so be careful.(10⁄10) A WINNER! The beef bento box was a good deal for lunch. It came with two fried dumplings, a side salad, pickled seaweed, miso soup and a bowl of white rice. The lean beef was marinated very well and was tender. This meal will definitely make an average person full!(7⁄10) If you are a tea lover, then I would recommend the mango green tea. If you want to watch your sugar level, then ask for less sweet like me! Their green milk tea is delicious as well. Their service can be a bit slow, because there was only one waitress on the floor. So make sure you can take a long lunch break! Overall experience is good and I will definitely come back!

Purchased 2 groupons here before and completely forgot about it and always forget about this place. The uni carbonara, popcorn chicken, and seafood stone bowl were my favs. I also highly recommend you try out their delicious teas, I always get the iced milk green tea. Other ones I would recommend are the iced honeydew milk tea, iced black sesame milk tea, and iced lavender milk tea. I don’t particularly like boba but others say it’s really good.

The tea bar on Bellaire makes one of my favorite milk teas on the PLANET so I was thrilled to hear that they’ve opened some new locations. This means you can now get the same delicious treat without the chaos of Chinatown. The space is clean and new and the M-F happy hour specials are a fantastic deal. I got a milk tea and a sushi roll for about $ 8! Bonuses include attentive service and plenty of spots in the parking lot.

This is a nice spot on Westheimer to serve tapioca. I don’t usually see any other places that will serve it outside of China town. My friends have stopped in here multiple times and I would like to come more often so I can try out their food and ramen. I have stuck with wintermelon milk tea here and it tastes pretty good. I would usually go for milk tea as a safe zone for new tap places I try, but I went out on the limb and this has become my default. They definitely load your cup up with lots of tapioca and the teas are consistently mixed well. Not watery or too milky at all. Tea is my last name and if I had a choice of any beverage to sip on all night, it would be some type of tea. It gets me feeling some type of way! I used to drink lots of boba/tapioca/bubble tea all day, everyday. I haven’t stopped, but I did cut down lol. I’m just trying to slim my chances of getting diabeetus. I’ll be a returning customer and ordering more teas!

Overall decent ramen and Uni Carbonara and somewhat reserved service. Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen: 3 of 5. I’ve had better at Tiger Den, Jinya, and even Samurai noodle. I would say they are on par with Fat Bao’s ramen which isn’t say much. The broth was lacking and the noodles did not have the qualities Ramen houses have. Uni Carbonara: 2 of 5. It was good and had potential but we think they made a mistake and reduced it a bit too much. the Carbonara was TOO rich. We gave up eating it half way before packing it to go. Once home we re-cooked it and added a little more to make it less rich and it was perfect. It was very slow as it was just two tables, but the service spent more time at their post than checking on Patrons. Not to say it was bad or rude, they were courteous and responded when we tried to get their attention. I guess they were just a little below standard.

I’ve seen pictures of the Uni Carbonara for awhile and I figured it was time to give it a try. So off I drove into the loop on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Luckily I came before valet was mandatory(annoying.) and there was virtually no one where except for maybe one or two other people. Excellent. Ordered the Almond milk tea with egg pudding. Perfect. I really like that their egg pudding is mushed up… I hate when it’s large chunks that somehow never finds its way into the straw and it leftover after the drink is finished. the Kara age(chicken nuggets), a roll for safe measure and the uni carbonara. Nuggets were seasoned in the lemon pepper flavoring, and it was definitely citrusy so I liked it. If you don’t really enjoy tanginess, get the other seasoning. I forget what roll I ordered but it was generic tasting, nothing special. The Uni Carbonara was a decent sized portion. The thing that annoyed me was that they charged more on my bill than on the menu. Not okay. It was really really creamy. Extremely rich and I definitely needed to stop and have a sip of water between bites to get it down. Took them home for left overs since I usually eat smaller portions, and heated it up and it was basically a pool of oil. MEH.

I decided to give this place a try since I’ve heard great things about it and since they have several locations(Bellaire Chinatown, Sugarland, and a new one coming soon in the Rice Village), I figured they must be doing something right. I met up with a friend here for lunch on a Saturday and found parking to be relatively easy. Based on the Unilocal reviews I had read, I thought it would be fairly difficult since it was sharing the parking lot with several other businesses/restaurants. However, there were plenty of spots. Shouldn’t be an issue. It’s fairly modern/trendy inside with a bar and a sushi bar. Our server was nice and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. I ended up ordering the Houston roll that came with 5 pieces and 1 truffle hamachi sushi. The Houston roll was OK — nothing spectacular. It consisted of tuna, salmon, hamachi, avocado, and green onions. Definitely needed some soy sauce with that or else it tasted bland. The truffle hamachi was pretty good; the only problem was that the fish wasn’t very fresh and tasted quite fishy. If it were fresh, I would have probably given it another star. My friend ordered the tonkotsu ramen and said it was OK. She was surprised that it was quite spicy since the menu didn’t mention anything about it being that way. Overall, it was OK. I saw some people order the chicken teriyaki bento box, and it smelled great, and the popcorn chicken looked good too. However, the fishy sushi really turned me off. Since a majority of the menu consisted of sushi items, I expected more from this place. I will definitely not return if I were craving sushi.
