Backstory: Got locked out of my car, called this locksmith, they quoted me a price of $ 55+ and a 15 minute wait. They made me wait more than 1 hour and charged me $ 146(before the locksmith even saw my car, but the company gave me the excuse that Volkswagens are harder to get in to, hence the price). The locksmith unlocked my car quickly and then took 10 minutes to process my credit card, which was frustrating also because I just wanted to go home. I posted a one star Unilocal review, because obviously I was pissed. $ 146 is much more than $ 55, and 1 hour is four times 15 minutes. Follow up: Business owner contacts me. He says he saw my review on Unilocal and that«customer service is very important to him». His regular locksmith was off today so they had to outsource the job(uh, that shouldn’t double your price…) and that usually their average price is $ 70, and he says I want to make this right… So he offers me that I pay $ 95(«regular price»). Mind you, I was bawling on the phone because I had just been taken advantage of hardcore and I’m a broke college student. But he wants me to pay regular price after making me wait a super long time and hella overcharging me? I had to haggle him down to $ 80(still over the average price, after all that they had put me through!?). He said he would process the refund because he overcharged me only after he saw that I deleted my one star review or changed it to a 4 or 5 star review — so yes, I deleted my original review and I am replacing it with this(this was originally a 2-star review until the owner decided to be very rude to me, and now it is again a 1-star). This is my truthful review. I’m glad that the business owner contacted me after seeing my review in an attempt to right his wrong, but I wouldn’t even recommend this locksmith to somebody I hated. Maybe if they had their regular locksmith, this review would be very positive, but the way that the business owner handled this was subpar customer service, and I’m still disappointed. I realize that I have to pay for the services rendered, but I still feel like $ 80 is too much for my experience. There are other companies that you can find through Unilocal that offer clear, up-front pricing lower than that, and had I known Texas Premier would rip me off so much, I would have called one of the other companies.
