My husband and I pulled into a parking lot next to a run down apartment complex and his first response was, «What the hell?» You just cannot judge an entire business by the outer appearance. The best establishments are those that outside appearances tell a different story. Keep in mind, well known actors begin their premature careers at small productions. Staff allowed guests to seat early, and complimentary red velvet cookies were served until the play began. You also have the option to purchases soda beverages and beer. Overall the play was good, but my husband was falling asleep. I would return. Nice, inexpensive entertainment.

Great place to take the kids for a play. We have gone to three of their plays this season. They are kid friendly and entertaining for the whole family. It is reasonably priced and I definitely suggest buying a pack of ten tickets. I am glad that this community theater is available so I can expose my four year old daughter to the world of theater without having to worry about the content or her surroundings.

While perusing the online pages of the Houston Press I saw that my favorite plays by my favorite playwright(David Ives – «All in the Timing») would be performed in Houston. I had to go. I bought tickets way in advance(only by will call and you have to pay, in cash, at the door) and got super excited. We got a little turned around and when we finally got to the place, we were more than a little concerned about the neighborhood. Though not nearly as «ghetto» as where we live, it certainly wasn’t the ritziest place to find a theater. Nevertheless, we park our car in the grassy knoll that they pointed to and hiked over to the building. We were the youngest people in there. By far. There was one other person under the age of 30 there, but he was in the play so that that doesn’t count. I had a feeling that this is where retirement homes took their clients for a night out on the town. We sat down in surprisingly comfortable chairs, though it was a bit cramped. They had wine you could purchase, but the idea of climbing out of my aisle again prevented me from even thinking about it. The play itself was performed decently considering it was community theater. The acoustics were fine, but in such a small room there wasn’t much to worry about. The props look like someone actually took time to make them – a big comfort. Before I knew it, the night was over and the nice security guard who watched over our cars tipped her hat at us and bid us a good night. Though I wouldn’t mind seeing another play there, I think I’ll check out a few of the other places in town before I head back over there.
