I have been wanting to try this place forever. My husband and I went there last weekend. The staff is super friendly. Food is terrible. Don’t waste your mone

Came here late on a Saturday evening and sat at the bar. There was a football game on, which given that this is Texas after all is fine… I guess. The singer playing the piano was very talented. I had an Alto Adige white by the glass and it was really good. The entrée of Cedar Salmon was good, but not great — slightly overcooked. The pasta that came with it and the side of Green Beans that I ordered with it was great. Service was good, but mixed. There was a guy in glasses that waited on me that was really good and another gentleman that was adequate. The price to value ratio is quite good at this place. Next time I’d ask them to not overcook the Salmon. I recommend it and would gladly go back next time I’m in town.

We could not have been more pleasantly surprised by our spectacular experience here last night. Our server was exceptional in the timing of our courses, his knowledge of the food preparation, the wines and being attentive without being intrusive. Flawless service. Some of the best we two fine dining nerds/foodies/snobs-if-we’re-honest have experienced anywhere, ever. Turns out our server was/is also a chef. Makes sense. We also had the pleasure of encountering another server during a few courses on her last night there. A pity, she was delightful… Both witty & personable. We had a 1st course of the roasted poblano soup. Good Lord. SO flavorful, with many complex layers, and a slow burn. Yum yum YUMMMM! So glad that we took our server’s suggestion as I was inclined to play it safe and get the tomato. 2nd course was the caprese salad: ripe tasty tomato, present but subtle balsamic, very firm ultra fresh mozzarella and crisp basil. Perfect. Our 3rd course was a fettuccine w/parmigiana reggiana Alfredo sauce and grilled shrimp. Pasta was a perfect al dente, the sauce was exceptional and loaded with great aged parm & the shrimp were perfectly firm and not overcooked. A miracle in this city. The 4th course was a New York strip with au gratin potato(perfection… Everyone always under cooks their au gratin potato, I find) & sautéed squash with bell pepper. The bell pepper dominated the squash for me but I’m not a fan of the flavor and can’t taste anything when it’s cooked with it. The NY strip was an 8 out of 10. Very flavorful, perfect amount of char, we ordered it medium and it was a true medium, just leaning a tiny bit in the tough side for us but only a teeny tiny bit. Wine selection was guided by our server, as well. He has spectacular taste and we look forward to having another dining experience like this one in the very near future with him. Kudos and well done, staff & chef.

Outstanding establishment. Food was great and service was top notch. I had the filet mignon and you could cut it with a spoon. Bread pudding is beyond and words to describe it. Very good and highly recommended.

Twice this week I took a group and they loved the experience and the food. Patrick was our server both times and he was wonderful. Knowledgeable and fun. Lindsey has a great crew, great chef, and great food. I recommend this amazing place to everyone

Came here for dinner and had a wonderful experience! This elegant restaurant seems out of place being in a strip center. I have had the pleasure of trying the Parmesan crusted flounder, the veal marsala, and the beef tenderloin medallions. All of them were fantastic, but my favorite was the flounder which was served over delicious risotto! Our server was friendly and personable and able to give recommendations when asked. The ambiance of this restaurant and quality of the food matches the price here. So it is a little pricey but it was worth it for me!

Really enjoyable dining experience! We’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile now. Finally just made a reservation on Open Table and went. It’s a small cozy place but makes for the perfect atmosphere for a nice dining experience. The crowd was an older crowd and there seemed to be a lot of repeat customers. I heard several guests asking if certain people were there that night. I started with a house salad which was yummy, just could of done without the celery. The parmesan crusted flounder was amazing! Full of flavors from the sauce and capers. I tried my husband’s chicken parmesan and it was very good as well. I wish we would of saved room for dessert because they looked really good. There was a piano player who went on around 7:00 — 7:30 and also sang. Our waitress was excellent and the bread you get is so good! Great place and good sized bar with a TV. Can’t wait to go back!

I recently attended a private wedding event as the event photographer hosted by The Devine Affair and I have to say… Everything was perfect. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the food was DELICIOUS, and there was never an empty glass. The staff was absolutely amazing, and really went above and beyond to make sure my client’s wedding was flawless. I simply cannot think of enough nice things to say!

I stumbled upon this hidden gem last Friday night. The décor was charming. The Caesar salad needs some work, but the meatballs and steak were delish. Great wine selection and pricing. The service staff was attentive and friendly. However, the piano entertainment was spectacular and the best part of the evening. Definitely worth a visit.

I like to mention that i don’t rate a place unless is necessary… I love eating out… try new places… soo many places to chose from… too bad i got disappointed from the divine affair. I came here cause a friend of mine… it was the beginning of the HRW. i have to say that the food was tasty. portions were«ok» compared to other restaurants. I understand is a 3 course meal, but if the restaurant can’t afford that… is better not to be part of this… the first time i came with my friends… i remember very well the sizes of the plates and deserts… thats why i keepted this place in my mind to come back with my husband and let him try the new place i just discovered. I was there last week and wow… i wish i didn’t stay and literally waste my money there. service was slow and since we didn’t ask for wine, the waitress didn’t seem very happy(i guess cause we only drink water and the check wasn’t going to be high) me and my husband felt rushed to leave. on top of that… the food was totally different as the first time i was there… smaller portions and omg, the desert wasn’t what i got the first time… same desert i ate. but this time just a joke size!!! it was a bite!!! what happened!!! I remembered i got a descent slice of cake the first time! this second time was a nasty joke… small as a bite!!! very sad… i guess instead of bringing new people to their business… with this experience… that time would be my last…

Had dinner there yesterday. Service was good, food mostly good but all just not quite that something«extra». Clearly a nice neighborhood place with regulars. They don’t advertise this but can BYOB if you bring in a wine they don’t sell. Which would be easy to do… for a place named«DeVine», it’s a very small 2 page wine list and nothing out of the ordinary. Not even as good/much as the Tasting Room and I find their wine list pretty pedestrian. I did have a glass of Cabernet that was very reasonably priced and was surprisingly good. A relatively light but full enough cab from Napa, Benzinger I think. I had the Restaurant Weeks dinner which was a petite filet and stuffed jalapeño app. Steak was fine, done exactly as I ordered — med rare — but not the full flavor you’d find at a Perrys, Flemings, etc. but it was fine and what I wanted. Wife shared flounder with risotto and asparagus with her Mom. Said was«OK. Again, they are close but not to the level of their prices IMHO. Clearly locals enjoy it for consistency and proximity. I saw something there I thought was gauche. A young mother in a larger group had a small baby that was fussy. She was trying hard to tend to her but given the time of day, it was a losing battle. We felt really bad for her. Ok, this is a white tablecloth place and is on the quiet side for Houston restaurants — not really a kid place — but a number of the«patrons» clapped when the young mother finally gave up and took the baby home. REALLY? I hope they never find themselves in a similar situation. The word again is — Gauche. The management did make a point of apologizing and again, the service was good. I’d like to go back and ignore the rude, boorish, tactless behavior of some of their guests. I also hope they can find that extra«oomph» for their recipes! If we do go back it will be with our wine.

This is the email I sent them a couple of weeks ago. Never heard back. I wanted to take a minute to let you know about our experience at Devine Affair last night. Being our first visit, we were looking forward to trying a new spot. Not exactly in our neighborhood, but since we were in the area, we thought we would give you a try. The positives– We enjoyed the food. Started with the Crostini, moved on to the mussels, each had a salad and we split the Rigatoni Devine. Also appreciated that our go to Chardonnay(Sonoma Cutrer) was only a 150% mark up over retail as opposed to the 200−250% mark up elsewhere. The negatives– Felt that for a $ 15 bowl of pasta, with a $ 5 split charge, the portions were a bit small. Service. The service was lacking. Our waitress was often MIA(girl with long hair in pony tail). Spent more time behind the bar than anywhere else. The restaurant wasn’t busy, especially with 3 or 4 servers milling around. The only thing that saved the service aspect of the meal was the attentiveness of one of the servers(younger gentlemen in glasses(Latin descent maybe). He refilled our wine, cleared our table and took some of our order. After spending 15 years in the restaurant business, and my wife currently in her 26th year as well, we know the importance of feedback, both good and bad.

It’s really a 3.8. I went here because I wanted to try something new so used Unilocal. The lobster bisque was good. I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich which good but not great. Chef bakes his own bread and you can taste the quality. Fries were really greasy which is main negative. I had to wipe my hands after every bite and make I don’t touch anything. My friends had salad and gumbo which they enjoyed.

It could be a four… but I am just not inclined to rate it so. Just happened to stumble on to this place with my wonderful wife and was plesantly surprised… Small and intimate restaurant focusing on a wine vibe. We started with a fairly meh… average Calimari Fritte… you can tell if a restaurant is serious if they don’t overcook the calimari. This was overcooked and chewy like gum. Nice sauce though. I had a most wonderful pork chop that had obviously been was succulent and tender and the mashed potatoes that came with it were nicely seasoned and of a thick texture. My Honey had the Tenderloin Medallions… and she didn’t complain. So that is kind of high praise… The service brought our score down;. Though apparently knowledgeable… they exhibited none of the attentiveness of a restaurant of this caliber. If it were not for the lackadaisical, non-existent service… we would be back. I say try it and judge for yourself. It won’t be horrinle

Went to this neighborhood restaurant for the first time Friday night with 7 friends for a birthday celebration. Was glad to see it’s not only a great size, not too big or too small, but the noise level is low and the overall atmosphere is lovely. I ordered the Devine di Mare. The seafood was fresh and the portion generous. I had to get a To Go box! We also ordered for the table three delicious appetizers; the meatballs, the crab and artichoke dip, and the calamari. From what I understand, everything is made from scratch, including the bread, which you won’t be able to stop eating! It’s so nice to find a wonderful restaurant so close to home! We will definitely be back and bring our children, who are foodies!

Carb load for the houston marathon tomorrow(or I guess today since I’m writing this review late lol) My gf and I decided to get some pasta nearby the energy corridor and we somehow ended up here. The atmosphere is cozy, kinda reminded me of the Italian resturant from the Sparanos, so would that make this place authentic? Lol Any who the food. We order the calamari, homemade cheese bread, some kind of pasta and the veal. All has to be comparable in taste compared to the higher end italian resturant a in Houston. However the price is more affordable and the service spot on. A neighborhood italian resturant that reminds me or the Sapranos? Done deal

First time being their, love the place with well prepared food, the only thing I didn’t like is my starter steam mussels, it’s cold, even after reheated, have no compliant on my beef tenderloin which was tasty, my lady ordered the shrimp and scallops scampi, she finished the big thing without a take home box. I would give a 5 stars if I have not tried the starter. Prices not cheap but acceptable, Mr.‘Earny’ a very experience and attentive server.

Wonderful place! The food was fantastic & they make their own desserts! The service was a bit slow but they were really busy the evening that we came in. We had no idea this place was a bit on the upscale end & came in with our 6 month old. After sitting down, we asked the manager if it was ok for her to be here. We were worried that we may ruin other diners experiences. We are not those people that feel that babies belong everywhere. The manager assured is that we were welcome. We loved our meal & plan to go back, next time without the kiddo!

My husband and I see this place after church every Sunday and wanted to go sometime because we are getting into enjoying fine wine. Last night, a Tuesday night, we went in and immediately loved the environment of the restaurant. The décor looks very lovely, with an old Victorian feel to it. Immediately we were seated and our server helped us try different wines to figure out which wine would accommodate us for the evening. After trying 4 different types of wine, which I felt letting us sample so many was very generous, we found a perfect fit! His recommendations were spot on in regards to what we were looking for. He seemed very personable and knowledgeable about the wines. Our food exceed expectations! We ordered some appetizers: muscles and a cheese and meat sampler and let me tell you, I felt I was in heaven. The prices were very reasonable and the flavors of everything was so delightful! We had intended to only go try wine and appetizers but since we were so impressed we decided to share an entrée. We ordered the Veal smothered in white wine and it was probably the best veal I have ever had. The flavors were spectacular and the meat so was tender it melted in our mouths. For desert the tiramisu was phenomenal. I have traveled many places across the world, including Italy, and this place has a perfect tiramisu! To finish off our lovely evening, we actually met the owners and spent hours talking with them. They were such down to earth people and so friendly. It is nice to meet the owners of a small business and help give them recommendations and also hear what they recommend. We enjoyed the date, and would go back as often as our wallet allows. The overall experience could not have been any better, and for a Tuesday night it certainly felt like a Friday night date.
