Great service. Love the creative menu. Chef is on point and checks on the table personally. Drinks are pricey but they use the top shelf liquors and wine. Awesome place.

Always looking for a place to go downtown before the theater. We found it. Good happy hour. GREAT FOOD! Nice atmosphere. And also right on the light rail line. Great find! Only thing I would change… put the beers on a list.

I just had the Beef Short Rib sandwich… OMG, it comes with a Brussels sprout slaw, cheddar cheese and a fried egg on top of wonderfully braised short ribs on what I guess is one of those amazing Slow Sough buns. You know you’re in for a treat when you first pick it up and the juices are dripping out the bottom. If you don’t like messy sammies, don’t bother with this one, but if you do, this one’s for you.
Perfectly paired with hand cut fries, this is a full meal deal. The fried eggs pops and the yolk blends in with all the other goodness going on, an incredible sandwich.
I’ve read some of the negative reviews, and I can only say my experience was awesome, so maybe give them another try. I know I’ll be back, and I’m bringing folks with me.

Awesome place and nice staff. Ordered soup of the day that was seafood based but got a vegetable broth. Reconfirmed with my waiter but they stood by the soup. No shrimp only carrots, onions and peas. Will go back to try an entrée before I write them off though…

Seriously some deliciousness on the corner of Texas and Main. I have been a fan of District 7 for many years. I love all the expansions and good food they bring to our Houston community. My husband and I were strolling in downtown and came upon this new eatery. We were welcomed by all staff. Very cute décor and spacious patio off Main. The brussels sprouts were amazing! Tostada Mahi with feta cheese and fresh salad filled me up. The Southern Fried Chicken Caesar Salad also was tasty. If you catch yourself in downtown, hit up this place. Looking forward to returning.

Great food, but a little slow for a quick lunch. It is full waiter service, so if you are in a hurry, try to go before noon. 3 friends and I had an 11:30 lunch and were able to get in and out in under an hour. The salads are great! Fresh greens and a light, refreshing dressing. The tickets came out slightly mixed up, and after we told our server, they came out a second time still wrong. We ended up just paying the wrong tickets because we had to get back to work. All in all, great dining option downtown — definitely recommend, if you have time to enjoy yourself for lunch.

Great dinner tonight! The almond Brussels sprouts and burgers are top notch! Very attentive staff.

I was really excited to try this new place! Unfortunately it has been 50 minutes since we ordered and we have not yet received our food: there is five of us and most us ordered salas or pasta. As a working professional we have 1 hour lunch break and do not have time to leisurely wait around an hour for food. This is the first time and last time I will come here, unless they resolve their staffing needs and expedite the orders.
The food was cold when it got to the table and the pasta noodles were overcooked. The salad was ok, not really impressed. We are all back at work and half of us have stomach ache from eating too fast. The manager did come by and apologized for the inconvenience it seems like they didn’t have their stuff together in the kitchen.
Hope this place gets better because it has great potential.

what a cool place and space for lunch! met a buddy here who recommended it. first off our server, nicholas was awesome and very attentive. my buddy had the soy sesame glazed salmon which smelled delicious and looked very tempting. while i started off with the soup of the day, a really tasty broccoli and potato. my main course being the yummy braised beef short rib sandwich. this was all shredded on a bed of coleslaw sandwiched between two enormous buns. lotsa tasty food so GO ALREADY!

I’ve walked by this place multiple times and was so excited it finally opened walking distance from work!
It’s self seating, and we were lucky enough to find a spot during the lunch rush. Our server (I believe his name was Nicholas) was prompt, polite, and knew the menu extremely well. During our meal, our glasses were never empty. Every single employee we encountered was hospitable and made sure our lunch went well — even the manager. I’m rambling about the service here… Because, well, it’s probably the best service I’ve received anywhere during a busy lunch hour.
The food came out quickly, and although their prices are a little high, the portions are large and delicious. We all tried different burgers, and none of us left disappointed. I tried the crusted chicken sandwich (I can’t remember the exact name), but the piece of chicken was perfectly cooked — juicy and tender. The fries were mediocre, but nothing to complain about. We also shared the pound cake topped with cranberries, which surprisingly, I didn’t like very much.
The District is such a neat little spot in downtown with great food and service. Definitely a must try!

After reading previous reviews I was a little skeptical about eating lunch here, I guess I got lucky with my first experience.

I had such a HORRIBLE experience at this restaurant that I absolutely felt compelled to warn people about the terrible service and the disgusting food at this place. We had lunch there today. A friend and I ordered the burgers. The waiter who brought our drinks and took our order was never seen again. After a 25 minute wait where nobody refilled our drinks or came by our table, our food finally arrived. My burger was cold, the shredded cheese wasn’t even melted and the caramelized onions weren’t even warm. Not only was my friend’s burger NOT what she ordered but the burger bun was burnt and the bacon and cheese were cold. We asked to speak to their manager, Chris, and explained the situation. He just stood there with nothing to say. We asked if her burger order was correct but he didn’t know what the burgers were suppose to have on them. He did ask what he could do to better the situation. We told him we wanted what we ordered but didn’t have another 30 minutes to wait. We asked that he comp the terrible meal but that was against their policy. So we were stuck paying $ 16 for cold, pathetic burgers. As we resigned ourselves to our food, I bit into mine and IT WAS RAW! I was livid at this point so I again asked for the manager who informed me that was their version of medium. Well, that wasn’t what I ordered. I told him that if he wanted me to pay $ 16 for this burger he needed to prepare it correctly, quickly and right then. That’s when he kicked us out of his restaurant! This place is a complete disaster. Waiters don’t know how to service you, the manager is incompetent, the food isn’t prepared correctly and is disgusting. After this incident, we went back to our office and told others about our experience. Turns out they had similar experiences there as well. Save your money and go eat anywhere else in the downtown area. It’s gotta be better than this place. I only give it one star because that’s the lowest you can go but even that is too generous for this place.

I had the salad with seared tuna. It was fine, but not really worth the price.
I wish they wouldn’t charge such a ridiculous markup on their wine. It is higher than most other places downtown, and the wine is only mediocre. $ 12 for a pour of a mediocre-​at-​best Pinot Noir is just too much.
Meh.

Pretty good lunch option in downtown. Food was fresh and flavorful, and arrived fairly quickly. Service was friendly. Setting is modern and good for HH drinks etc. Good addition to this section of downtown.

Great lunch spot that’s tucked away in the heart of Downtown Houston. When we entered, we were promptly greeted at the door, we were told that it was open seating. I ordered the Panko Chicken Salad. Food came out quick considering there was a pretty big lunch rush. The chicken was cooked perfectly with the Panko crumbs breaded on it. The greens were drizzled with just the right amount of dressing. Throughout the meal, we were thoroughly checked on.
I would definitely come back for lunch. I am curious to what they have to offer for dinner…
