Honestly, you all were under prepared. They weren’t ready for groups, apparently– since they continued to mix up orders, bring out the wrong things, and even make us wait a great deal after everything else had been passed out just to receive the wrong order. The best part of this experience was the water– and there’s no real way to mess that up. I honestly doubt that I will ever come back here, and, if I somehow do, it won’t be within the company of anyone else.

First of all, the food here is great. The patriot waffle is a must try for all first time guests. The waffle has raspberries, blueberries, and powered sugar on top. Sausage patties or bacon will be on the side with eggs. However, there seems to be a shortage in staff. The wait staff will have multiple duties including but not limited to waiting tables, ringing up tickets, and cleaning tables. Brandy the waitress provided excellent customer service. She had a sweet and calm spirit that was very hospitable. Overall, the restaurant needs to hire more people so the wait staff can focus on serving their guests. But, the food is delicious and hot.

Breakfast was a huge disappointment. Waiting almost 45 minutes for our order was not the server’s fault — they were understaffed. My husband’s over easy eggs were medium hard, my French toast was hard and dry, the ranch potatoes were loaded with garlic powder and the bacon tasted odd. Server was most apologetic but too busy to pay much attention. We won’t be back to this location.

Omg service took forever! We had to walk out. The management sucks. Seeing some of the platers brought to other tables really looked disgusting, pancakes were small compared to Friendswood location. 1960 location need to close down

Well yet again another disappointing visit to the egg and I. They recently changed ownership and it’s clearly a bad move. Our server took more than 10 minutes to come to our table and that was only after we got another server to go get her. There is no excuse as the restaurant is pretty empty at 930 on a Saturday morning.(yet another clear indication that this place has gone downhill). Plus it is ridiculously cold in here and the table is sticky. I’m still waiting for it to be wiped down as I write this review. There have been no table touches by a manager type figure and no sense of urgency to get food out. Our table is the last one by the kitchen and I keep hearing calls for runners but am amused and irritated at the same time because after you hear the call for a runner you would expect to see food come out of the kitchen. We specifically asked for our waffle to be delivered hot even if it has to be microwaved before serving because we know the chance of it being delivered cold was highly possible. I went as far as to ask for butter while I was placing my order ahead of time so it would be a bit softer for our waffle. Obviously that hasn’t happened yet. Also our server did not write down the order is I’m betting the crispy bacon I asked for isn’t going to happen either. As I used to be an assistant at this very location I know the standards that we originally started out with. I’m going to continue my review after we get our food which by the way is going on 15 minutes. Ok food was delivered as ordered so redemption there although my table is still sticky. Food was hot my bacon was crisp my eggs were done right so my server redeemed herself. I will note that the carafe of coffee is bad. Clearly should not have been delivered to the table the way it looked. I started with one star but will now upgrade to 2 just because the food was good.

I had ordered their oatmeal and let me tell you it was not worth the almost $ 9 I paid. The set up looked nice however the granola tasted like the smell of dog food, the oatmeal was luke warm, the seasonal fruit was slimy and brown, also an English muffin was not included like the menu stated. My friend offered me their«toast» however it was just warm sliced bread. One of the quarters of the bread was golden but just in one corner. It was a very sad breakfast.

As I am writing this review, I am still waiting on my food to arrive. It’s been about 45 minutes and nothing. Eggs take around 3 minutes to make. So disappointing. What are they doing, waiting for the chickens to lay the eggs? I can’t believe the food service here. Only good is that the variety of food is nice compared to IHOP but definitely not worth the wait. Also, it’s overpriced anyway. Don’t come here unless you want to waste your time.

I don’t understand the bad reviews. I came here last weekend and I enjoyed our visit. The staff was kind, food came out on time and the food was fantastic. I got the blueberry pancake. It was gigantic, it covered the plate, it tasted so good! They gave us a new kale drink that was good too. I will definitely be returning soon. I’m glad we have the egg and I around here.

Not impressed. Breakfast food does not take 30 minutes. We ate at 1, which is not a rush time, and hardly anyone had food. The wait staff did not check up either.

I’ve been to this particular spots twice with my parents who looove this place. And I like eggs and I like food, so why not come here??? Well, let me count the ways: 1. Slow service/long wait for food. 2.Dirty menus and tables-crumbs on everything 3. Stained lipstick stain on the new coffee cup from today’s visit! Gross!

Simple Eggs Benedict, hot cup of coffee, cold glass of water and a friendly smile from Ms Yvanna, sweet waitress.

Not going back. The food just wasn’t good. Toast was burnt, potatoes almost raw, eggs Benedict was not made with poached eggs(?) and had very little sauce on an untoasted muffin. The wooden booth seats are uncomfortable. Our check was put on the table before we got our food. It’s too expensive for the low quality food.

Excellent food, everything always tastes awesome and there’s always plenty of food. Our waitress Amy was by far the funniest and awesome waitress we’ve had so far, not that the rest are bad but she was a blast to have as our waitress. Management needs to give her a bonus. We always go back here and so should yoy.

I came for an AVON meeting( ) and I only ordered a cup of coffee this time. Normally I get their omelettes but I wasn’t hungry. I was given half a carafe of coffee(that wasn’t awesome because I had only a few hours sleep) and while our group was sizable, the server didn’t seem to frequent us as much. I finished my half of carafe of coffee and was never offered a refill.

I usually enjoy this place besides the fact that the prices are a little bit more than I’d spend for breakfast food. I haven’t been here for at least five months and I was craving their Hikers Benedict so I decided to make the trip. Came in and was sat down but our waitress, Madeline(?) took a while to even get our drink order. It seemed that we were her only table and since we came past noon it was relatively steady in the restaurant. The host had to come by and notify us she would be attending to us soon as if they had forgot about us. Ordered the Hikers, Cornbeef Hash(which was slight burnt), and coffee. Coffee never was given to us so we had to ask another waitress for help and she was very polite and apologetic. Our waitress was no where to be seen, in fact she would disappear into the kitchen after the four times she saw us. To take our order. To give us our drinks. To give us our food and then give us our check. Which we weren’t even close to finishing our food and she handed it to us and rushed back into the kitchen. The service used to be spectacular here, from beginning to end. But I guess now it’s a new rotation of people.

Terrible service and terrible food. I’ve been here a long time ago and now I remember why I haven’t been back in years. I waited over 40 mins for a bad waffle, bacon and scrabbled eggs to go. Ridiculous and it wasn’t even good! I’m writing this now to remind myself in case I make the same mistake a few years later.

Service was friendly… but the food is no good. Go elsewhere. The potatoes didn’t taste fresh. Almost as if they’re just sitting in the back waiting for someone to order them. Nothing tasted fresh, in fact. Might be better just to scramble an egg at home.

I eat at the one in Tomball and I’ve never disliked anything. We are staying with my mom and I was so excited that she had one close by… until the food came out. Service was good, but who ever cooked our food obviously does not put a lot of care into it. Out of 4 plates all was over cooked and flavorless. We will not not be returning to this location.

Service is always friendly. Love the Hazelnut flavored coffee & that I get a cup and a coffee carafe of my own to refill as I need! Have tried just about everything and have not been disappointed but nothing beats the Greek Frittata! Their cubed Ranch potatoes are yummy but I sub with fresh fruit & Raisin toast. SOFULL of FLAVOR!!! Prices are reasonable, restaurant and bathroom are always clean.

Despite the bad reviews my husband and I decided to give it a try. Not once but twice thinking the first time they just had a bad day. Our potatoes were cold and not fully cooked the first time the second time we went the manager was rolling her eyes and it was complete chaos between her and the other employees. Our food took forever to arrive along with it being the wrong orders as well as eggs being cooked wrong and green chili hash was cold. When we told the manager we would not be coming back she just shrugged and said sorry. Horrible customer service and horrible food.

Great place for breakfast or brunch. The biscuits and gravy are my usual and they never disappoint. The coffee is always on point and fresh. The only problem is that the service can be spotty. This visit Peyton was fantastic but that kind of service is sadly not consistent. I have coming to this location since its opening and the only thing consistent is the food.

Mejor imposible…

We came for breakfast one morning while my car was being serviced down the street. I love the idea of an Egg restaurant, but this one was pretty disappointing. I ordered the Egg Byte Omelette and my husband got the blueberry pancakes. I thought my omelette was pretty sad and unappetizing. The vegetables were sad and old. A stale english muffin accompanied old fruit. My husband thought his blueberry pancakes were ok, but I swear I’ve made better pancakes on a whim. Service was super slow, and as if a super long meal wasn’t bad enough, the credit card machine(only one in the whole place!) made it slower. Servers were friendly, but didn’t stop by often to refill water. My water cup was empty a few time, but at least we had coffee.

It’s safe to say I would never go back to that restaurant, not only we always have to wait for a long time to be greeted and seated but the staff dont have sense of urgency and the worst part when they finally bring the food out its actually cold inedible. They dont even deserve the 1 star but unfortunately this is the lowest grade available.

We had another waitress this time, Diana(sp) Danyella? Not a good experience as you can see judging by me forgetting her name. We had others check in on our table more often than her. Food was still delicious as always!

We actually came here DESPITE the bad Unilocal reviews because a family friend had been before & did not lodge any major complaints and because of the proximity to our home. We should have followed our first mind. They got our order wrong. My husband is allergic to tomatoes & is really paranoid about it, so when he ordered an omelette that came with them, I KNOW he requested they be removed because I heard him. Mistakes do happen, but it took forever for them to correct his order once they sent it back which meant we were eating seperately & ultimately we took his food«to go». Me food was just OK, but it seemed a bit overpriced to me. We spent $ 30 dollars on breakfast & I am not sure why. I wish I had taken pictures to show there was nothing special about the food.

So The Egg & I was one of the only places opened on New Years day so my sister and I decided to swing by. We were seated immediately and our drink orders were taken not long after we sat. My sister ordered a small fresh squeezed orange juice. The portion is fit for a barbie, it was tiny, and it definitely wasn’t fresh squeezed either. A carton of simply orange would be closer to fresh squeezed than whatever that was. Regardless, I ordered a coke and as give a glass and a carafe. Nice. We ended up ordering the parisian benedict, waffles with a side of scrambled eggs with cheese on top, bacon, sausage and an order of biscuit and gravy. The parisian benedict was the best part of the meal by far. Hollandaise sauce was just okay, but compared to everything else I felt like I was eating truffles. The waffle was meh, but the real gripe here? The proteins. The sausage had NO flavor whatsoever and the bacon was crunchy and gross. I’d only come back for the parisian benedict and nothing else.
