The Flat is that H-town spot that the rest of bars really need to keep up with! Chill atmosphere, delicious drinks and cool people. If not sure what to order, just take their pizza. They do really have a nice selection to order from! Hands down! Highly recommend to visit!

Great atmosphere if you want to have a chill but still fun party. I had my grad celebration here with a group of 20 and it was perfect. The bartenders are friendly, the DJ was on point with the music and the drinks were amazing. They have a happy hour at night on the weekends so drinks weren’t too bad. My favorite was Strawberry Lemonade. It was amazing. There are bars in the back patio area as well. I will definitely be back for more fun times. :)

the flat has something for everybody. first off in case you have not ever had a frozen mojito, you must go the Level for one. They never become overly sweet and remain minty. The bartenders have exceptional service, and a great deal of character. An excellent television region to see matches, an amazing rear veranda that’s perfect for a group to sit down and revel in. The Flat is little but what it lacks in size, it makes up for every other manner. Did I mention the house pizza, its amazing! In the event you havent gone to the Level, you should. I reside in the neighborhood and have been dragging buddies there for several weeks now and everyone has a nice time.

I guess Houston is exactly that city, which can be proud of its countless bars and restaurants, pretty competitive ones! The Flat has to keep up with them to attract more customers! Hands down! This place is perfect for people of any age. I like coming here with my brother and get some beers and pizza. Every time it is so fun! It’s not that fancy as a majority of such spots in Houston is. You don’t have to dress up to feel yourself comfortable. I always throw my favorite sneakers on and feel amazing. Check out this restaurant! Awesome!

This place has an Indoor and outdoor bar. The outdoor was my favorite, very relaxing. Pretty cool hang out and drinking spot. Not so crowded when I went and met a group of friends.

Great jazz jam on Tuesdays. Plus Nikki’s drink specials are always the best!.. Nikki is definitely one of the best mixologist inside the loop! Tuesday jazz jam starts at 8p.

We went on a Friday nite, Nice place, house party vibe, cheap stiff drinks :), no cover charge. Parking was awful, we had to park in the neighborhood and walk. Other than that a cute little place for a date.

I guess H-town is very rich on interesting and fun bars, so every owner of such place must work hard to keep up with that great variety! I think The Flat has already done what was needed to attract countless customers! No matter you’re 20 or 60, you’ll surely have a great time, just like I do every single time! What I like the most is that this bar isn’t fancy! Seriously, don’t rake your brains about your outfit, just put on your favorite jeans and snickers and have fun! Almost forgot to mention that their pizza and drinks are wonderfully delicious!

Okay this is what I like in a bar! Came in for a drink and late lunch kinda dinner thing on a saturday. Happy Hour: 7 days a week? 4−7pm sat-thur, 4−9pm friday. This is an auto five stars! Just kidding, but the happy hour host a number of house cocktails like their frozen mojito, froze piña colada, house punch, and a few others for $ 4 – 5 and and wells for the same range. Also lonestars or pbr for $ 2 and select beer for $ 3. Okay, so concerning price we had 6 drinks and a pizza for 2 and spent a total of $ 36. Basically, come during happy hour and you can have a good time for very little money. Drinks: They’re not relentlessly strong but they get the job done. The frozen mojito is really their staple and is quite tasty, definitely try this if its your first time! The piña colada was CREAMMMYYY! So if thats what’s you like, then thats what you get. I think I enjoyed the pina the most of all the drinks. Perhaps because of the sun on the lovely patio. Bloody marry, they’ll make it, but its not their specialty by any means. Oh P. S. the«floater» on the mojito is just sangria poored on top, I didn’t really like the sour it added. I personally felt the mojito tasted better without it, and the $ 1 charge could have stayed in my pocket. Ambiance: Anywhere with couches, mood lighting, projectors playing movies on walls, and a patio gets my stamp of approval. The playlist was giving me 2012 college freshmen pays for pandora with financial aid money. But this was perfect for just chilling on a saturday afternoon when it was busy at all. Bar tender: I cant remember his name but he told us all about the place and seemed eager to be serving up drinks. Food: Okay so the guy told us straight up that the only thing frozen was the crust… you could tell but it really didn’t hurt the pizza. I mean pizza is pizza. We got the spicy chicken and it was good for what it was. Of course not Franks Pizza, but a solid pizza for chilling at a bar. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and will be back for sure!

Pretty dark inside. Leave your shades in your rig. Parking for me was scarily convenient, like pull up in front & park at the curb. Bartender said I wouldn’t get a ticket. I had him sign an indemnity agreement just to be safe, & because I had the software with me. Music on the outside patio a little spacy. Makes me wonder as a pretty straight laced guy, what kind of drugs people are into these days. Eclectic crowd. Lady with purple feet sitting here with late 20’ish hipster, intelligencia, ’ discussing tactics to ‘success.,’ 3 dudes with shirts you’d find at the Assistance Ministries speaking some unintelligible language, possibly French, or maybe just total made up gibberish, & a chunky gal who ‘d be pretty cute 32 lbs lighter if she didn’t smoke who keeps looking my way. Not sure how to get out of here alive, BUT, only the 2nd place I’ve found in Houston with frozen mojitos. Yum!

It was freezing in here, the drinks were not that good. I expected more from the drinks with this being a small place, it’s social lounge, diverse setting which is good, the music selection is… interesting. Overall it’s a chill place I think I may have enjoyed it more if I liked the drinks and it’s also for a mid twenties and older crowd

When I finally found this place… YES it is super hard to find by GPS… I had a blast! It is a small unassuming building in a residential neighborhood… that is why it’s hard to find. There was plenty of FREE street parking. Once inside, the DJ was spinning some New Edition to get the party started. Drinks were flowing and good times were had. On a Friday night the place was not too crowded. Patrons were coming and going. I definitely will return. One caveat — The food menu on the website must be incorrect because I wanted to order chicken wings and the bartender stated they only had pizza… smh…

Upon pulling up to this spot I was quite skeptical. I disregarded my skepticism and came in. To my surprise it’s a very quaint and personal. I noticed a live DJ and seating in addition to the bar. I sit at the bar and the waitress greets me. She took my order, but honestly didn’t come back after that. Luckily for me, another waitress arrived and was a bit more attentive. I originally ordered a patron margarita with grand marnier and that came out to $ 14…geeesh. They have selected speciality cocktails that are approx half the price of my drink. I also had the Frozen mojito, which is a specialty cocktail, and it was mediocre. I order the goat pizza, which was deelish. I absolutely love prosciutto, but I’m trying to back away from pork lol. None the less the pizza was very tasty. Also note that they ONLY serve pizza, different varieties, but only pizza! There’s a DJ and the music was nice. No rap/hip-hop this particular night, nonetheless nice music. Perfect spot to come alone, which I did, or for the average creeper. This place is so tucked away I almost passed it up. Three stars for the lack of diverse menu and not so attentive waitress. This is a perfect spot if you’ve experienced a bad day and just need to ease your mind. They also have a tv and projector screen!

What a versatile place! I’ll admit, my first visit here left much to be desired but after coming back a few more times, I have grown to appreciate how you never seem to get a continuing replay of the same scene. Different nights will get you different types of music(i.e. soul, hip hop, jazz and what can only be described as church dance music) and even a different crowd of patrons. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the live jazz band and people who came to listen to the band brought various instruments and joined in with them in jam sessions. Outside, there is a heated patio with a set up of tables and chairs. Great area to enjoy good conversation and ignore the«Respect your neighbors, Please keep the noise down» sign. Even the seating set up changes. On jazz nights they turn all the couches and chairs in one direction so that the patrons can better appreciate the band. On certain nights, old movies are projected on the wall as additional entertainment. They have one bar with very efficient bartenders and reasonable prices. I have grown to really enjoy their frozen mojito. Definitely a very chill spot.

It is so loud inside. I’ve been here twice. Very divey, and both times, all I remember are 1) bad date and 2) super loud music. Maybe the latter was a blessing in disguise given the former? The drinks are fine, the parking’s difficult, and I think the only time I wouldn’t mind coming here is in the 1.5 weeks of fall we have in Houston so that I can sit outside in the large patio/backyard/open-space-disguised-under-the-previous-two-names-take-your-pick.

READWHY I RATEDSOLOW… We went to go experience the weekly Sunday show called The Butterfly Effect with DJ Styver, who was the sweetest and prettiest person/DJ I have ever seen and met. She made us all feel super welcome and made time to talk to everyone for a few minutes during her 5 hour show that day. If you enjoy a good atmosphere and super groovy House music, this would be a hell of a way to spend your Sunday fun day. Now onto to why this place received an awful rating. There was a female bartender who literally hated hated her life and everyone in it. She was rudest person I’ve ever encountered. The absolute worst I repeat. She yelled at 6 of us for saying we weren’t sure what we wanted to drink after literally walking in the door 35 seconds prior. She rolled her eyes and shook her head behind peoples backs and made us feel like POS’s all day long. Other than this unavoidable burden, we had a really great time and met a lot of awesome people. DJ Styver is the absolute greatest… I have a monster crush on this girl after seeing and meeting her.(In the looks department she’s also a 5 out of 5) :0…

The Flat is easily my favorite hangout spot in Houston. It’s been consistently good to me for over 5 years. When I was in undergrad, I would frequent here for chill nights out. Now that I’m out of school and over the club scene, it’s my go-to spot for social gatherings with friends. Mangagement(and possibly ownership) has changed over the years, but the vibes have remained the same. The honey lemonade is my favorite drink there and I’m not a fan of mixed drinks at all. The frozen mojitos and pizza are a fan favorite as well. Depending on the night, you can catch various DJs spinning. Check the webite/social media accounts for more information. If you’re looking for a bar with a chill crowd, good music and tasty food, this is your spot.

What are words should I use to describe this place? Hmmmm, let’s see… Eclectic, diverse, dim, noisy, comforting, cozy? That might do it. We stopped in here looking for some food on the way home from an art show. Never even heard of the place before but Unilocal lead us here. I had a different vision in my head before I walked in, so I was a little unsettled about staying. But once we determined there was a quitter patio out back we decided to stay. While they do have food here, the menu is restricted to a few pizzas, fries and some wings. As a vegetarian, pizza and fries were the only options. The pizza wasn’t half bad really and it hit the spot since I was so famished. But I don’t think food is their thing really. The interior was pumping with loud music being turned out by a DJ. It was dimly lit with soft colored lights all around the place. There are a few seats at the bar and lots of small intimate sections with chairs and couches for lounging with your love(s). There was one lady behind the bar, and while she didn’t even crack a smile, she did whip out drinks in rapid time. It’s order at the bar too and get a table number. The patio was spacious and inviting. Certainly better for sipping drinks and having conversations since the music isn’t so in your face out there. Very laid back for sure and made me feel as if we were hanging in the backyard of someone’s place more than being at a bar/restaurant. As far as beverages — they had a nice selection. I really enjoyed the moonshine sangria! Enough in fact to have two. Did it hurt they were on special for 4 bucks? Certainly not! Now that I have a better idea of what this place is about, I’d come back. I think I’d skip the food and grab some elsewhere first, but they have good drinks and good specials for the night as well.

This was my first time here on a Wednesday for Reggae/Afro Beat night. The DJ(Docta) was on point! He took us to Africa, Jamaica, Trinidad then back to the«MotherLand»!! I never dutty wine and worked my hips so hard in a long time.(LOL!) Just about everyone there was dancing to the tunes he was spinning. This is an all around chill spot! Any day of the week, you will can enjoy good pizza, good drinks and good tunes! Everyone is welcome!

I was introduced to this place last night & I absolutely love the vibe here. I passed the place up twice though, so I have to remember that the building is painted with different colors. Wednesdays is their Reggae night, & I love Reggae so I really enjoyed the DJ. He played some great selections while we were there. The bartender was very pleasant & just a cool dude. I met my company just in time for those Happy Hour prices. I heard they are known for their Mojitos, so I will have to try those next time. The set up is very chill. I was not expecting what I saw when I walked in. It is not too large or small. It is just right. The drinks were good, & they have a small menu where you have your basic finger food like wings, fries, and pizza. Well I came their with an appetite so we ordered the Veg Pizza with our drinks. Our food did not take long to come out, & it was hot & fresh. Finally, the crust was not thick, it was just right, & not heavy on the stomach.
