My wife is currently pregnant and her birthday was coming up. Normally, we go out to a nice dinner with a group of friends then go dancing at a bar or club. At almost 6 months into her pregnancy, we figured this was not a good choice. So we thought long and hard about some ideas and staying at home just sounded cheesy… and then it hit me! We decided to be extra cheesy and invite our friends over and feed them, what my wife is craving most — GRILLEDCHEESESANDWICHES! I reached out to The Golden Grill Food Truck and right off the bat, the customer service was terrific. We set a date and the price and i was more than elated. On the day of the party, the truck got to our home about an hour early to set up and the 2 guys on the truck were super cool. Our friends arrived on time and hungry and the cheesiness was ON! These guys serves up the best grilled cheese sandwiches, the best tater tots and the best s’mores i have ever had. Everything was delicious, came out quick and the cooks on the truck were extremely friendly to everyone. Our guests were thrilled and full. We did have to invite some of the neighbors to join on the fun and it made for a great treat and great birthday party. If your are looking for a way to feed a lot of people at home or an event, I would strongly advise you reach out to The Golden Grill.

Gave this place a shot twice… and yes, still not worth it whatsoever. The tomato soup was the most disappointing. It is basically a bowl of tasteless pizza sauce. Staff is friendly though.

I’m glad this place is still around. They sure do know how to hook it up! Everything here is tasty.

My three star rating has nothing to do with the quality of the food. In fact, when it comes to grilled cheese sandwiches these guys nailed it. The problem is the price, $ 7 is too much for. Consider lowering it to $ 5 and then we have a good trade.

Went to the truck at the Buffalo Bayou Reopening. It took 45 minutes to get a cold grilled cheese and tater tots. Not worth the wait. They seemed very disorganized.

I had the buff chic while they were at UH today. I give it three stars because something about the chicken meat wasn’t what I was expecting for buffalo chicken. I don’t think the chicken itself was bad, but the method it was cooked could have been better. I loved the concept and the Buffalo sauce they use is really good(not spicy for me, I was fine with that) Would I go again, probably for their classic grilled cheese.

This is my favorite food truck!!! My heart breaks when they are out of the smoked tomato aioli! Love catching it in the winter and dipping my grilled cheese in the tomato soup!

This food truck popped up right outside my apartment the other day and I’d been wanting to try it for awhile, so I was pretty excited and wasn’t disappointed! Their menu, in typical food truck fashion, wasn’t extensive but had a variety of grilled cheese sadwiches with multiple choices of cheese. I ordered the peaches n’ cream which included peach jam with triple brie cheese. It was tasty. I’m not giving five stars because my grilled cheese alone cost $ 6 which was one of the cheaper options since it didn’t have meat on it. They were sold out of their tomato soup but it sounded good, and other sides included tator tots and potato chips. I opted out of those as I didn’t want to pay over $ 10 for a grilled cheese meal. They also had a couple dessert options like the S’mores grilled sandwich. I’m glad I experienced The Golden Grill as I see it often around my neighborhood and I’ve always been curious. While it is pricey, most food trucks are. I still am shocked every time I walk up to a food truck and end up paying over $ 10 for a fairly simple meal. I suppose that’s how these things are. This food truck delivered what was promised — a tasty, unique golden colored grilled cheese sandwich. While I might be hesitant to choose this food truck again, it’s simply because I can’t fathom spending that much.

Was at Karbach Brewery last nite and saw the Truck was very excited to see that it was grilled Cheese. I ordered the Bacon Cheese tots and the Beef and Cheddah. The food did come out quickly. The appearance of the two was very appetizing. You hear the saying wolf in sheep clothing? Well this was it. The tots were cold and bland(even with bacon on them) the cheese tasted like canned nacho cheese. The sandwich was chewy, the beef was non existent, and jalapeño’s from the can gave the sandwich a very vinigery taste. VERYDISAPPOINTING… The up side was the brewery very cool place and relaxed atmosphere.

GOODNEWS! This tastes just like a homemade Grilled Cheese and Deli sandwich that that delightful buttered bread. BADNEWS! You’re paying $ 7 for a couple squashed bread triangles with cheese. I feel like they skimped on the meat here, too. It’s not 30 minutes later and I’m still hungry. Unilocal’s star chart really did me a solid with the description«Meh». It’s a nice little sandwich that you won’t go out of your way to get. This truck would have to park in front of my house for me to order from them again. It’s a little easier just to butter some bread myself. It’s hard when the truck is parked at UHCL not to compare this to Miller’s just a couple blocks away with their vastly superior grilled cheese that is overflowing with grilled onions and ham for the same $ 7 price. The person working the counter was personality minus. A quality and high energy greeting should be standard at a food truck. What I got was somebody half asleep who seemed like they didn’t want to be there.

Experienced the golden grill at the bayou city art fair. For a food truck the food came out very fast but it was horrible. My sandwich was cold, so much so that the cheese wasn’t even melted. Maybe had it been prepared correctly it would have been okay but I feel like I completely wasted my money. I also got the cheese tots– again blah. I was not impressed.

Used them as a surprise for our wedding as a late night snack. Everybody was so pleased and raved about how delicious the food was. Plan to find these guys soon to have a bite and to thank them personally for making our guests have happy stomachs at the end of the night.

Quick service. We had the Hamlin sandwich, and the jalapeño jelly hits the prosciutto and cheese like an unexpectedly sweet and delicious surprise. The Smores sandwich is an epic effin’ Nutella masterpiece. We can’t wait to try more of them grilled cheese sammiches.

This food truck was one of the vendors at my church’s flic nic on the lawn. I’m not the biggest fan of grilled cheese sandwiches, but the sandwiches were delicious. Prices: they were the priciest grilled cheese sandwiches I’ve ever paid for. It’s about $ 8 each. Food: Overall, they were they were crispy on the outside and smothered with melted cheese! Carnitas — amazing! It has pork, pepper jack, pickles, and apple jam. Hamlin — Mixed proscuitto and jalapeño jam Gouda — it was amazing! with gouda and jam The carnitas and gouda were my favorite! I would definitely consider trying the rest!

This place has yet to let me down! First time I tried their food was on campus for an event, where I had the Buff Chick… it was soo good, it satisfied my love for chicken taste bud. My boyfriend got the Hamlin and enjoyed that mix of prosciutto and jalapeño jam, let me repeat jalapeño jam. The very last time we ate at the truck was over the weekend when they were parked in front of the Yellow Rose Distillery and boy were we glad to see them because we were hungry. We got the Hamlin and it was gone before we even made it into the distillery. I haven’t tried any other of their sandwiches because once I find something I like, I tend to stick with it, but I’m sure they’re just as good and flavorful. The people inside the truck are friendly and quick to serve the food. One time I actually took a picture of them from my window and they tweeted back, I love when people tweet back! Definitely will return and bring some newbz.

Visited the truck while at an event in Sugar Land. Upon walking up, customer service is lacking. Guy on phone, keeps pecking away at phone while I stand there, doesn’t greet me, takes my order. I ordered a s’mores sandwich. I wasn’t impressed. It barely had filling(looked nothing like picture that someone else had posted), the bread was hard and super chewy. I couldn’t even bite into the crust, that’s how hard it was. Priced at $ 5, and completely not worth it to me. My first time visited a food truck and was very disappointed.

I tried the Hamlin and Carnitas. I was very impressed with the arrangement of flavors in the sandwiches. The jalapeño jam in the Hamlin was something I had never had before but went perfectly with the prosciutto. The pork in the carnitas was tender and juicy. What I liked most about the sandwiches was that they were not greasy at all. Sure they have to add some butter/oil to crisp the bread but these were still crispy even after I took them home(about a 10 min drive from the bus). If you like a good sandwich definitely give it a try!

The whole food truck phenomenon intrigues me. I really enjoy the delicious food that is coming out of trucks these days, and whenever I get a chance I try a new one. That is what brought me to the Golden Grill. Well really it was the Untapped Beer Festival, but whatever. After glancing over the menu I settled on the Buff Chick. This is a grilled cheese with cheddar cheese, buffalo chicken and ranch dressing. I really did not taste any ranch when I ate it, but it was still good. The buffalo chicken was slightly spicy, but it was not soaked with sauce. The cheese was gooey and delicious. The drink selection was limited to Coke and water. This always seems to be a problem with the food trucks. The food is delicious, but the drink selection sucks. I need to open a food truck that only had drinks. Damn it Gump, You’re a genius. Anyways, it was a good sandwich and $ 7.50 isn’t too bad considering it was a decent sized sandwich. Next time I want to try the carnitas… I am not sure how I missed it the first time.

I totally had an idea to open up a grilled cheese food truck but The Golden Grill beat me to it! They did a much better job than I imagined in my mind. The only thing they’re missing is truffle tator tots and pizza grilled cheese sandwiches. I take art classes at the Art League next to Inversion and The Golden Grill was parked outside! I usually eat dinner after art class but I’ve been wanting to try this food truck so I took a break midway through the class to grab some sandwiches before they closed. I shared the Kimcheese and Smores sandwiches with my sister. It was cold outside so we waited inside Inversion while they made our sandwiches. The Kimcheese was my favorite! My sister doesn’t like kimchi so I was happy to have more to myself! My sister liked the Smores more and I thought it was delicious as well. Whenever I see this food truck parked in front of Inversion now, I have an urge to pull over and order a Kimcheese even if I’m not hungry. I have an extra stomach reserved for Kimcheese sandwiches.

so I had to add an addendum to my previous review because I decided to try another sammy instead of my usuals, lol. I had the HAMLIN… now I must admit I am NOT a fan of prosciutto, but just had so much faith that these guys would make me like it somehow… I did ask for Gouda instead of American Cheese as I felt this would be a compliment and OMFG, this was a SUPER killer sandwich!!! I do not like spicy so I figured the Jalapeño Jam would somehow not be a bad thing, and I was not wrong; it is sweet with just a hint of the flavoring which I felt totally complimented this sandwich with just grace: D I am SOOO glad I tried it and of course I can NEVER pass up on my Bisque WHICH I TOTALLYLOVE. ANYTIME, they come to the EADO, I will walk my happy little ass down the street and get my love!!! FINDTHEMNOW!!!
