I’m here right now watching the Copa America US vs Paraguay match on June 11th2016, and all I have to say is that I’ve never had worse service in my life. Our waitress was very rude and barely came by and checked on us. The old Brian O Neils was 10 times better and I would not recommend this place to anyone unless u want crap service. Hopefully this place will lose money and shut down.

This place does the trick if you’re trying to find somewhere to grab a drink and relax even on Friday and Saturday when you’re out with your friends. It’s definitely not as crazy as other bars and is a bit more laid back. They have a dance floor area and a nice sized patio which makes the bar more spacious and pleasant on weekend nights. I’ve watched several sporting events here and have had a salad once which was pretty good! I would recommend if you’re in Rice Village for a quick drink!

I have written nothing but good reviews for years. I’ve even had bad experiences and never said anything. But this takes the cake. An exceptionally rude door guy that can’t get off personal calls and a owner that does not give a fuck. Hell, I should work for this bar! They don’t give a shot about shot. And I wondered why it was dead. I’d rather pay an extra dollar across the street for the sexy bartenders. Shame. Really!

Overall this restaurant is very nice. Our waitress is from Venezuela! She’s gorgeous and so personable ask for her, her name is Lupe! She made the experience of tasting Irish food good! We ordered the chicken taco ! AMAZING!!! Just don’t order thier wings ! Taste like Tyson wings that they microwave, but they fall off the bone!!!

First time stepping into this place I was a bit confused. Last time i was in this building it was still the bar that was previously there. I can’t say too much about the beer because I ordered my usual Miller Light! lol. The Bar inside is beautiful. It was all new and the bartendress there was tall and beautiful! They had a special on bottomless mimosas at the time, which looked very appetizing. It seems like a very cool and laid back hangout spot, and would def. be back.

If I were writing a review just based on my experience during St. Patty’s, then this place would be getting a one star review. Crowded(expected), cover charge(also expected), but the food being offered was all very underwhelming. Especially, the chicken sandwich. The meat was tiny, dry, and flavorless; and the buns were just sad and flat. I asked for bacon and cheese but didn’t get them. Our server didn’t bother to check on us and she was nowhere to be found when we wanted refills on our beers which means that we would have to actually go to the bar to get drinks. At one point, I even walked to the bar and flagged a random server to get a couple of glasses of water. However, I’ve been here a few times and although you don’t expect the food to be super delicious, they’re typical bar food, edible, and they’re not horrible so I can live with that. Service here is hit or miss. The last time I was here, our waitress was awesome, totally the opposite experience vs. during St. Patty’s. I tried their fried pickles and I wasn’t a fan. I couldn’t really taste the pickles, just the oil and the fried breading. And they put a lot of fried jalapenos in the basket also and I’m not a fan of fried jalapenos. The patio is pretty cool, but I think they need more shades because I had to move a couple of times since my skin was getting roasted. Also, for whatever reason, the smoke seems to travel fast out here. I normally don’t have problems with people smoking out in the patio, but here, the smell of cigarettes and cigars seem to always find their way to me. All in all, it’s a cool place to hang out with your friends. But is it going to be my first choice? Probably not. Rice Village parking(it sucks) + inconsistent service = I’ll only come out when my friends are hanging out here.

Sat on the front porch for dinner and drinks with friends. We ordered sliders, hummus, bruschetta and Mac & Cheese chicken. Everyone seemed to like their selection. My bruschetta was just ok. The bread was tough to eat. I wouldn’t order it again. This is a dog friendly patio, which is cool, because we were entertained by a chick whos’ dog yanked her around all evening. «Down boy, momma’s trying to look cool and you are ruining her mojo!»

Came one weekend to catch a Liverpool game. The local Liverpool supporters group gathers here to watch all the games. The game is shown on the projection screen, and there is a cute themed brunch menu to go with the game. I even brought the baby in her stroller, who hung out and even took a nap while we were there. The food was reasonably price and the owner was more than accommodating. He even offered to warm up my food because it had gotten cold since I was feeding the baby. Overall, a fun place to be, even if you’re not coming to drink at night.

Had a fun, relaxing time at The Gorgeous Gael. It’s also fun when I get to spend time with the Houston Gaelic Football team.

I met up with some friends last night and I had a good time! It was a pretty big crowd due to St. Patty’s day but I still managed to get to the bar and get my drinks fast. The DJ was cool, he played some old school music towards closing. Staff was friendly but the only thing that was bad was the restrooms, they were pretty gross but I guess I’ll let it slide this time since I went to the restroom towards the end of closing.

Fun place to have a few after work. Went on a Wednesday after work to mark the end of a 3 week long event, and had the pleasant surprise of it being trivia night! The beer selection is pretty good and the food is pretty good too. I’ve had the boneless wings and the rib tacos. I recommend eating these and they’re even in the happy hour menu!

As far as good places to watch the game in Houston, this is an excellent spot. Last year, I came here with a large group of friends to watch the Rockets playoff run. It was an exciting time, and the owners of this establishment made it more memorable by being involved and directly in contact with their customers. Clutch came by, the Rockets cheerleaders were here, and the best fans in basketball were also in attendance. This is also a great spot to watch football as well. I was here a few months back with some friends of mine watching the Texans play. What attracts a good crowd here first? I would have to say their shot menu. When you can pay $ 2-$ 4 for a shot of anything(especially since I don’t drink beer), you’re already winning. They also had some giveaways when I came here a few times. In fact, I won two beer tickets once. Since, as I mentioned before, I don’t drink beer, I gave my tickets away. As a vegan, they are very accommodating. In fact, one of the owners got to know me very well as «the vegan,» so he was always ready with some suggestions. Although I was a little disappointed when I came by last Sunday because the NBA All-Star Game was on, but they turned the audio off, I could understand because the place seemed like a desert. Plus, it was Valentines Day. You can’t go wrong coming here for sports, vegan options, good priced drinks, a fun environment, a large group get together, or anything I can think of. Try them out!

To finish off our after night shift bar hopping, we walked across the street from 55 Bar across the street and came here. The weather was perfect so we sat on the patio. They have a really cool Irish pub type feel. They had soccer games playing on the TVs and a few hooligans really getting into the games. The bar itself is nice and clean and the bartenders were really friendly. They of course really showcase their whiskey. They have a display in the back with all sorts of whiskeys. Right next to that are barrels on display. I took advantage of their 4 dollar St. Arnolds Santos on draft. Can’t beat that! Before heading out I had to have an Irish car bomb. It wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t at this establishment! I will definitely be back!

I love this place! It’s always so much fun. There are lots of TVs, so football season is a blast! There is also an amazing little patio area out front by the street that makes for good people watching! Love this area of town! The staff is very friendly and very attentive, and the food is great! There’s usually some type of activity going on as well. I always love coming here and I’m sure I’ll be visiting a lot of future!

Love this place!!! Great food. I recommend the wings or one of the traditional Irish dishes. They also have traditional Irish music Sunday nights, which is great to enjoy on the beautiful patio.

Just opened and newly remodeled, the Gorgeous Gael is an Irish style pub with a good selection of cocktails and beer. They have a decent happy hour menu, but it does end at 7PM. They have seating outside, but it fills up quick during days with nice weather. There is PLENTY of seating inside with TVs playing sports, but it tends to get very noisy to where you’re practically yelling to talk to the person next to you. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. The food is fairly decent as well, and I was surprised when I ordered the chicken tenders, as there was plenty to go around b/t 3 people easily. I’ll definitely come back, but I’ll try to get there earlier to get some outside seating.

Do not miss the drinks menu. Inventive and tasty. At first glance I thought the specialty drinks looked like they were trying too hard to be different but I was pleasantly surprised. Perfectly mixed drinks fitting the summer season. We had the cheese and meat platter(a take on a ploughman’s) Nice quality cheeses though not Irish or even the English cheeses I had hoped for. Still, it was a meals worth. The deviled eggs were perfection. The pickled onion was a great idea. The fish and chips were good, nothing outstanding but very good. Large portion also. I would have loved a side of curry sauce for the chips. Overall I thought the portions and prices were good. The drinks will bring me back.

This was a surprisingly good pub. I generally don’t like food at bars(especially pubs) but the food was amazing here. I found healthy, gluten free options and was impressed by the quality of taste. The waitress we had, Alexandra, was on point. She was quick, informative and helpful without hovering and harassing like some waitresses do. I wouldn’t be surpass if I see her bartending next time I here. Her knowledge of the drink menu and quick, sure service. One minor complaint… the Playlist was just straight up weird. In the midst of eating British/Irish inspired food we listened to early 2000 top 40 playlist. It was just awkward. Other wise I was very pleased with this bar. I recommend the deviled eggs and chicken dish.

The service was awesome! We went to watch one of the rockets playoff games! The weather was terrible, they wiped down the tables and were very accommodating! The food was decent, the chips and queso were good! We ran out of chips asked for more… took way too long but they replaced our queso with fresh queso!
