I went here with a friend for dinner but we did not stay. The place is very nice and the staff is friendly. We did not stay because the dinner menu only has three(3) items on it. It included lamb chops, sea bass and prime rib. None of these items appealed to us so we left. All of the items are around the $ 30 price range. I have seen overly large menus but having only three choices on a dinner menu is ridiculous. Just not enough choice and it is to expensive. The waitress told us the dinner menu changes once a week. I am not saying the place is bad but the 3 item concept is not packing the seats.

Love the atmosphere and the food was perfection. I had the salmon and my boyfriend had the steak, both were done just right. Others had mentioned slow service. I found the service pleasant and unhurried which enhanced my experience. The only reason I choose four stars instead of five was I don’t care for paper napkins. Such a lovely dining experience deserves linen. Will definitely return and recommend.

Delicious for dinner. Took my mom here. It was quiet and perfect to have a conversation over a gourmet meal. Bring your own wine and beer. I had lamb and mom had salmon. Both dishes were perfectly cooked.

My husband and I had our eye on this place for a while and finally made it in, we will absolutely be back! This place is BYOB which we love. Service: The service was warm and friendly, it seemed like the owner was familiar with some of the guests so they must have a few loyal customers. Food: Fantastic. We shared a salad the prime rib, it was excellent. The menu is based on what is fresh right now so it changes. Atmosphere: Causally elegant. This would be a lovely spot to meeting up for a girls night but still romantic enough for a date night. I hear the quiche is amazing, I will be back to try it.

The food is the only reason for the stars and that is a reach. I can make a better quiche in my own kitchen. I’m glad so many people can take a long lunch since it takes 15 minutes for a glass of water and 30 minutes for any food to appear. My quiche and soup combo was brought out separately and the croissant I ordered with it was brought to me in a to-go container. While I was at a table intended for a party larger than one, I was irritated that the only waitress in the place just had to set a tea pitcher down on my table while she went about filling the water glasses at the adjacent table. And then almost walked off without the pitcher she set down. I watched as parties sat themselves and then waited and wondered when someone would be by to take their order. I’m amazed more people didn’t walk out. Then again, it was kind of like a train wreck and it was hard to look away from just how bad service could be. Good hearted and well intentioned people I am sure, but no business running a service based business. While I don’t raise any objections verbally, it seems my bad vibe made its way to the owner who decided to comp part of my meal because she said I wasn’t happy. Ok. Take this for what you will.

Had dinner with family, 4 adults. Tried to filet mignons, sole and chicken cordon bleu. Chocolate mousse, bread pudding as desserts. Without a doubt, no fluff; this is one of the best places I have eaten. Menu rotates so something different every weekend. Just give it a try and sample this place, you will not regret it.

We recently tried this place for dinner and cannot stop talking about the absolutely phenomenal food! This simple restaurant serves a meal that is clearly the best in the 1960 area and rivals anything available in Houston. In this age where mediocrity has become the norm, it is wonderful to see a restaurant where the quality of the food and its preparation is clearly a passion. It has been a long time since a restaurant has inspired me to the point of writing a review, but this place is a stand out. The BYOB policy is a plus and a nice change from paying 3−500% mark ups on sub par wines.

Very good food and great service. If you live in the area you need to give them a try. It’s a great local restaurant. They are now open for dinner Friday and Saturday from 5:30 — 9:30. The dinner menu changes every week to add variety to their limited menu. Think quality over quantity.

Staff was so nice, but only one waitress for the entire restaurant was a bit overwhelming for her. Crab cakes were a bit fishy and salad didn’t come with ingredients listed on the menu, was missing walnuts and there wasn’t enough bacon. I’m pretty sure the chocolate pie was not homemade, whipped cream certainly wasn’t from scratch. Probably won’t go back.

Awful service. We tried this place during the lunch rush. Jennifer was the only waitress. We waited several minutes just to place our order. A can of coke cost $ 2.50. The menu is not great. Some simple hot and cold sandwiches. No option for sides-just chips. We tried the Philly Cheesesteak. It stayed on the plate. It was not tasty. I had the FRIDAY special was cost $ 15.00. Not a big portion. You’re better off making your own sandwich at home.

Another excellent reason to come to the 1960 area! I happened in after a Saturday client visit, Wonderful coffee, delicious daily special of chicken pot pie(could only finish half) and shrimp and sausage gumbo. Free WiFi and peaceful ambiance. This is going to be a regular stop. Lives up to its name. Ciao, Panera!

I organized a small baby shower there for brunch and it was great! Nice variety of food and everything tasted fresh(except the coffee, but I’m a bit of a coffee snob, anyway.) The service is good and the atmosphere is very quiet and relaxed. They have a good assortment of deserts, too. But now I have been there twice for lunch and both times it was pretty gross. The menu items sound fresh and somewhat healthy, which is what I’m looking for, but then the hot sandwiches are just greasy and sloppy and gross. The BLT soup had a nice flavor to it, but there was oil floating on top of the broth, so I just felt gross eating it. If you don’t care at all about calories or sodium or any of that, you’ll probably be pleased with the lunches, but if you’re looking for a deli that has fresh vegetables and healthy selections, go somewhere else.(I’d try their brunch again, though!) Also, this place would be okay for children as long as they were older and fairly well-behaved. It’s mainly an old-folks or ladies luncheon type place. It’s kind of small, but I’ve never seen it crowded, so you could organize a smaller get-together there.

I usually don’t write reviews but this place impressed me so much I had to write one. My friend introduced me to this place. I have to say this is my favorite find of the year. It’s owned and run by 2 ladies that know how to cook and bake. I can taste the quality and freshness in every bite. I had a Caesar salad and the tomato basil quiche. The salad was fresh with home made croutons and dressing. The quiche was the best I’ve had(I’m used to La Madeline’s). My friend had the fish which I tasted and it was very light and buttery and melt in your mouth. I also had a lemon cake for dessert which was moist and delicious. It’s a little pricey but definitely worth it. The café is not open for dinner which is a bummer. It’s only been a couple of days but I’m dying to come back and try more dishes. It’s such a great place but I’m worried they won’t make it. We came around 12 on a Sunday and there was only 2 other tables. Hope I’m wrong.

We went on a Sunday morning and were delighted that there was no wait! The café is a typical café with a country feeling and decorations. The food was fantastic, everyone in our group was impressed. The menu is small, and the selections are simple, but it was all done well. The soup was obviously made from scratch and tasted that way. Overall, the experience was positive. The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was inviting and comfortable, and the food was great!

It’s a good idea but it’s just not there yet. The prices are too high for what is served. I had high expectations for this café but I was disappointed in the flavor and portion size(for the price). I’d love to frequent this café because it is so close to where I live. I’ll keep checking every once in a while but if the food doesn’t improve or the prices I’ll just write it off as a no go. It is new in restaurant years so I know they need growing room. I’ll give them that. Also a name change might help.

I took my neighbor to The Perfect Café and she agrees with me this is very good food. I find the owners and all staff there very friendly and helpful. I go every week at least once.

Friendly staff, inventive menu. Certainly a place that will remember your name after you return a few times. Due to certain allergies, I can’t eat a lot of food, but our server was accommodating enough to find out how they cooked the specials before I made my decision. I resorted to a lovely salad with a few substitutions and I left feeling full and satisfied. Cute place for a date or a nice lunch with some friends. They also cater!

Delicious food always delights. This café has become our«go to» place for ladies’ lunches. Rethinking that now. Yesterday, after finishing our meal and enjoying conversation, we were asked to LEAVETHETABLE! Plenty of seating available, but they wanted our particular table to accommodate a large group that had arrived. Apparently, they wanted to push tables together. I have never had this experience anywhere before. Not sure I will return. Good food doesn’t excuse bad manners!

Fantastic place. Romantic in the evening. Quaint for lunch. Daily lunch specials, amazing soups. Deserts are all made in house. Get the filet, it’s not on the menu but always available. Bread pudding should be illegal, it’s amazing. Ask for Taylor to wait on you, she’s awesome.

For those of you who remember The Perfect Cup, this is the new and even better Perfect Café. Now the restaurant is beautiful and the food is even better. You NEED to try this wonderful restaurant that is run by Stella and Sandy.
